Halloween Surprise

Halloween had arrived. The kids were all excited that this holiday had finally come. They couldn't wait to dawn their costumes. Martha had once again decided to be one of the many Disney villains for Halloween. Castle and Beckett had no idea what the other was dressing up as for the holiday. They wanted to surprise each other. So when the time came to get ready for the party; Beckett changed in the bedroom while Castle got suited up in Alexis' old room. The kids had been in their costumes for hours by this point.

Castle was waiting downstairs with all five of their kids, Jake and Martha for Beckett to join them.

"I'm liking the Daredevil costume, Dad." Alexis said.

"Thank you sweetie; I would have been The Dark Knight but somebody got to it first…" Castle said as he nodded over to JJ.

Alexis laughed.

"Doesn't Alexis look stunning as Maleficent?" Martha said in a way to prompt her son compliment his daughter.

"Yes she is stunning; Angelina Jolie has some competition."

With that Beckett came sauntering into the room while Castle still had his back to their bedroom. The room went silent as the others noticed Beckett.

"You waiting for me; Daredevil?" Beckett asked.

Castle turned on his heels instantly at the sound of his wife's voice. Within the second of turning around and laying eyes on Beckett; Castle was completely speechless.

"Whoa. You smell that? Wafting scent of printed pages? Comicadia. Beckett, this place is the premiere comic book shop. It's the Vatican to a Catholic. It's Mecca to a pilgrim. It's upstream to a spawning…"
"I know, Castle. I bought my first comic here when I was fourteen. Sin City. A Dame to Kill For."
"How hardcore! Okay, wait, wait, wait … if you could be any comic book character in the world, who would you be?"
"Elektra."
"Ah. A ruthless assassin who hides from her emotions."
"No, maybe it's because she's got bad-ass ninja skills."
"Uh huh."
"What about you? Iron Man? Spider-man? No wait, I know. Annoying Man."
"Ah. Try billionaire industrialist Bruce Wayne, a.k.a The Dark Knight. He's brooding, he's handsome, and he has all the coolest toys."
"Wow. Digging deep on that one."

Martha and Alexis were holding back laughter of their own. Like everyone else; they had noticed almost immediately all those years ago the affect that Beckett had on Castle. This time was no different. Jake and the kids were catching on to the little spell Beckett had on Castle.

"Well are we going or what?" Johanna Martha asked impatiently.

The entire family was heading over to Ryan and Jenny's for this year's Halloween party after the kids trick or treated.

"So who's going to be my trick or treating beard?" Castle asked on their way out.

Alexis was flashing back now.

"But you have to go with me. You are my candy beard."
"Sorry. Dad. You're just going to have to get another beard."

"You've got four candy beards right here, Dad. My candy bearding days are done."

"Well then I have a choice to make while you wait until your little is able to be your candy beard."

At this point the family was getting into the elevator.

"The little one is a girl and her name is Charlotte Aurora."

Everyone was happy about Alexis and Jake's news. After that the elevator got to the bottom floor. Castle and Jake hailed a few cabs to take all of them to the Halloween party.
