Holiday Plans
Days after Halloween; Castle and Beckett sat down with their respective parents, Alexis and Jake to figure out how the holidays were going this year. By the time Thanksgiving rolled around later in the month; Alexis would be over five months pregnant with Charlotte. Between Christmas and New Year's she's be six and a half months along. Jim would be busy with work and Martha would be busy doing whatever she does.
"Would you like some coffee; Jim?" Martha offered.
"Sounds great."
"Anything for you, darlings?"
"Ice water is fine; Grams."
"I'll get a soda and her water, Martha." Jake said.
"Jake dear, please call me Grams; after all we've been family for some time now."
"Okay Grams."
When Jake sat back down next to his wife; he turned to her.
"That just felt odd." Jake whispered in Alexis' ear.
"Don't worry; you'll get use to it, babe."
Beckett and Castle heard their daughter call her husband the same nickname that Beckett calls Castle from time to time. They smiled.
"So how are we going about Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's?" Beckett asked.
"Why not do what we've been doing for years?" Castle responded.
"The family is growing, that's why."
"Oh, this is so exciting. Our family is just growing by leaps and bounds. If we keep this up, darling, we're going to need a bigger table."
Martha's line from Beckett's first thanksgiving with them rang in Castle and Martha's mind.
"That sounds good to me."
"Why not keep everything the same? This way things don't change on JM, the twins and JR? They should get to have eighteen plus years of the same holiday traditions that I had." Alexis said.
With that Thanksgiving and Christmas were taken care of. They would worry about New Year's after Christmas.
