The Ex-File

Kate Beckett could deal with a lot of things. Things like the occasional phone call or the sudden if not inconvenient visits from Meredith. The incessant nagging from Gina about a book manuscript or something book related. But the one thing she could deal with was her ex-husband. Good ol' Rogan O'Leary had popped back into Beckett's life once again. Castle, Beckett and the kids were on their way to the grocery store to get some things for Thanksgiving when they bumped into Rogan and Tildy.

"Kit-Kat!"

Rogan still hadn't told his girlfriend the whole truth about Beckett and why she was in Willow Creek all those years ago.

"Kit-Kat?" the kids questioned.

Tildy had the same puzzled look on her face as the Castle kids had on theirs.

In Beckett's mind she had two things playing in her mind.

"I'm not an 'if at first you don't succeed' kind of a girl, Castle. When it comes to marriage I'm more of a 'one and done' type."

"And here I thought you were a one and done kind of girl."

Beckett couldn't take it anymore.

"Okay; listen up. Rogan has been lying to you for years now…"

"Slow down there." Rogan said nervously.

Beckett ignored her ex-husband.

"Remember how he said his wife was in a coma, died and left him that $25,000?" Beckett asked Tildy.

"Yeah…"

"Well I'm the wife in the coma; so to speak. We're clearly divorced now and money he gave you was from him blackmailing a Pastor."

With that Beckett and her family moved on; leaving a stunned Rogan with a pissed off Tildy.

"Wow; Mommy was married before Daddy." James Royce said.

"Yup; she sure was. She's a two and done kind of girl now." Castle quipped.

"Oh shut it, Castle."

After that the family was in the grocery store. Castle and Beckett both grabbed a three seater shopping cart when they walked in with the kids. Johanna Martha and James Royce went with Beckett while the twins went with Castle. The game plan for shopping for Thanksgiving was divide and conquer. They would meet back up at the front of the store in a while.
