This is the end of this fic, but not the end of Florina's story. ;) I'll explain more later. Right now, enjoy!

Florina sighed and looked at her finished house. She had finished it a few days after Arya had arrived. It had taken her three days to sing it the way she wanted it and now it was ready. That had been a few weeks ago. She was waiting for Lifaen and Kuldra to get back. The Elves knew she was among them again so there was no more need to keep secret. They had found out when the elders came to ask Arya to be queen a week ago. They were back again, trying to get Arya to take her mother's throne.

She heard a familiar thud and smiled. They were back. She looked to the sky and saw Lifaen with a pack and Kuldra had her chair in her claws. Florina took the chair and carried it inside. She carried it up the stairs to her study. It would be the only piece of furniture that wasn't part of the house. Everything else had been sung from the four trees and were bound to the house itself. Lifaen followed her in. It was the first time they had been alone in months. He hadn't been able to visit her before because she wanted to remain hidden. Before that, she had been captured by Galbatorix and that had been the last time they had been in each other's company.

She straightened the chair and began fidgeting with other things. "What is the matter, Brave One? You've been in his presence before."

"Shut up." Florina snapped. Kuldra only chuckled as she retreated enough to give them some privacy. Florina did her best to act like she wasn't nervous, but she was. She had a feeling that he was going to ask her something and she wasn't sure what the answer was going to be. Finally, he grabbed her and kissed her deeply. She returned the kiss.

"Florina, I love you." He said in the ancient language. "The feeling has only grown stronger every day that I have known you. And it's not going to change either. When Murtagh captured you, I felt lost. When Kuldra returned without you, I felt I was going to die. I now know that I cannot put this off any longer. Florina, Daughter of Caleb and Selena, Rider of the Golden Kuldra, will you be my mate? Not just my mate for a night or a month, but my mate for the rest of our lives, however long that may be?"

Florina froze, Angela's prophecy ringing in her mind. "Here, you have the rose alone. You will find love, more like love will find you. But it is up to you to accept him or turn him away." She looked up at Lifaen and remembered the kiss he had given her during the Blood-oath Celebration. "It hadn't been the magic." She bit her lip and looked at the Elf she secretly loved, that loved her. He was the first man to ever admit it, besides Caleb. But he had loved her as a father would his daughter. Lifaen loved her like she had always dreamed a man would. And she knew that Caleb would be proud of this Elf. She looked into his eyes and saw the plea in his eyes. She nodded. "Yes." She finally said. "Yes, forever if we have that long." He took her in his arms and kissed her passionately. She returned the kiss with the same passion and they weren't seen until the next morning where they learned that Arya had accepted the crown.

Nasuada, I hope you are well. Arya told me the good news that you are queen. I would come and congratulate you personally, but I am not sure the extent of the spell Galbatorix has placed. With Arya is a proclamation formally giving the throne to you. It needs to be read aloud in the throne room with at least one witness from each of us. I have already asked Arya to be my witness. You just need to choose yours. Like I said, I would come, but I don't know what the spell will make me do. This is the only thing I and the elves can think of to rid me of the spell. Even as I write this, Kuldra has me tucked under her wing and Lifaen has his arms around me to keep me from trying to follow the urges of my blood. If this works, I will come and see you before I depart the mainland with Kuldra and Lifaen. I would also appreciate it if you calmed Orrin towards me so I may help him if he needs it. I did not mean to nearly kill him. At that point, I had not even known that Galbatorix had placed the spell he had. May your sword stay sharp. Florina

The woman looked at the elf before her. "I thought you said she was free of him."

"I said she was of the man. We haven't freed her from the spell yet. Like she said, this is the only thing we can think of to free her from the magic. She misses you, Nasuada, and wants to see you. But she wants to be sure that she won't kill you the first chance she gets."

"I have Elva."

"What protection is a child against the patience of a dragon?" Arya countered. "Florina, if she had the thought, could descend upon Ilirea and destroy you before you can muster an army. She could come and take Elva before sending an assassin for you." Nasuada looked at the letter again.

"Lifaen, he was one of the spellcasters assigned to her by your mother." Nasuada smiled. "I am happy for her. She thought she would never find someone who loved her for her, if they loved her at all. Okay, let's try this. Angela!" The witch walked into the room as she had been waiting for Arya outside the door. She wanted to ask Arya if she could stay with the elves because of Nasuada's new plan.

"Yes, Majesty."

"I need you to witness Florina giving her throne to me." Angela nodded.

"When?"

"Now, before any of the nobles get wind that the throne is not mine because of magic." The three women and child hurried to the throne room, the proclamation hidden in Arya's hand by magic. Soon enough, they had made it to the throne room. It was thankfully empty. Arya opened the now revealed scroll. She faced the throne where Nasuada had taken her seat.

"This is written in the hand of Queen Florina, Selenasdaughter, Rider of Kuldra, Leader of the Riders of Alagaësia." She announced. "I, Queen Florina, Selenasdaughter, Rider of Kuldra, Leader of the Riders of Alagaësia, hereby give the throne given to me by King Galbatorix to the leader of the Varden, Nasuada Daughter of Ajihad. All who answer to this throne and blood will now answer to High Queen Nasuada of Alagaësia. May she and hers rule with justice in their minds and hearts." Arya lowered the scroll. "Do you accept the throne from its true heir, Nasuada, Daughter of Ajihad?" She asked.

"I do." Nasuada answered. Arya turned to Angela.

"Do you, Angela, recognize that Queen Florina has given her throne and birthright to Nasuada, the Daughter of Ajihad?"

"I recognize that Golden Rider Florina, also Queen by birth, has given her birthright to Nasuada of the Varden." Angela answered. Arya nodded.

"I recognize that Queen Florina, Leader of the Riders of Alagaësia, has given her throne to High Queen Nasuada, Daughter of Ajihad and Nadara."

"It worked!" Florina shouted with glee. They had been talking about how things had gone in Ilirea with Nasuada. She had even talked to the woman through one of her mirrors and she had not felt the urge to fly upon Ilirea and take the throne by force. Lifaen picked her up and spun her around. She had proven that magic could never overcome freewill. She kissed her mate and then turned to Roran and Katrina and their own daughter. Florina took Ismira in her arms and smiled and cooed at the baby. The sight made Lifaen's heart swell. She had yet to talk to Eragon as he had spent the last three days doing research of some sort, leaving Florina alone with her cousin and his family. At the moment, they were sitting in the tree she had lived in during her training. They had been interested in seeing where she and Eragon had lived during their first stay among the elves.

"Florina, can you come to my tree? Alone. I need to talk to you." Florina handed the baby back to her mother and exited the tree she was in and went to Eragon's. She found him in his study. He explained his plan to include dwarves and Urgals into the pact with the dragons. She knew he wanted her approval. After all, she was the one who would be leading them in battle and send them to patrol and keep the peace. After some thought, she agreed. The next morning, they went before Arya and her advisors and presented the plan. They presented it as both of their idea as Florina had spent the better part of the night learning the spell they would need. As leader of the Riders, she would have to be involved.

At dusk, they gathered in the clearing with the Menoa tree with the Caretakers. They sang and the Caretakers danced. Together, Florina and Eragon gained the spectral dragon's attention and received its blessing for the ritual. They funneled the energy given to them into the spell they wrought together. Together, they created a new compact that included all races of Alagaësia.

Kuldra swooped over the hill the three figures were leaving, ruffling their hair. Florina said nothing. The gold dragon landed next to the ship and her Rider dismounted and waited. Soon enough, the horses arrived. The elves formed a path to the ship. She knew it was for Eragon and Saphira. They would not be returning, ever. Florina knew that was the reason that there had been two free Riders born. One was needed to train, the other to lead. Eragon dismounted and Florina walked over to him and embraced him. "You be careful." She whispered in his ear. He noticed that she had her armor on instead of comfortable clothes.

"Where are you going?"

"We are going to rebuild Vroengard. I am going to try to clean the land. That way the Riders have their own base that is also safe." Florina looked at her dragon. "Kuldra says that there is one among you who wishes to come with me." Blödhgarm walked forward with a jeweled purse.

"She says her name is Saphira. Her Rider was Brom." He said. Eragon's eyes filled with tears. "He never knew what she had done. Not until it was too late. But she wants to help give a home to the new generation that her Rider helped." The elf looked at the two of them before handing the Eldunarí to Florina.

"I will keep her safe." Florina stepped back to stand by Kuldra, tears in her eyes. She watched mutely as Eragon gave a casket of gold to Roran. Once Eragon and Arya had boarded the ship, Florina tucked the Eldunarí next to Elduna's in her saddlebags. Roran stood next to her before she mounted her dragon. Kuldra took to the air when Fírnen began to fly back to them. She roared her farewell, a roar Saphira echoed into the gathering dark. "Good-bye, Brother. I wish I could have gotten to know you better." With that, Florina turned Kuldra to the west and they flew over Roran who was waiting for Arya and to Lifaen who was waiting for them in Kirtan.

"Don't be afraid, Brave One. This is only the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new."

"I know. And soon, we will not be alone."

First off, Kirtan is an elven city on the edges of Du Weldenvarden. It can be seen on the map. Second, I want to thank you all for reading this fic. As i said in the beginning, this is the end of this fic, but not of Florina's journey and story. I can think of no better way to thank you all for reading this fic than with a hint of what the sequel will entail. The sequel is to be called Black King's Daughter.

"Two hundred years have passed. Alagaesia is at peace. The Riders are flourishing under Florina and Eragon. Nasuada's line still sits on the throne. But the second betrayal approaches on the wind and with it comes trouble for the Golden Rider."

Thank you all for reading and I hope you join Florina as she continues her journey. (I promise to get it up as soon as I can)
