Alexis' Letter

One of the nights at the hospital after delivering Charlotte and Siobhan; Alexis took her computer out to keep her busy. She had gone to see the girls in the NCIU, when she had gotten to the girls; Alexis saw them sleeping. In eighteen years when the girls celebrated their eighteenth birthday; Alexis would give the letter to her daughters.

As Alexis types up the letter to her daughters she remembers the letter Beckett had written to Castle all those years ago.

"Dear Rick,

I don't know how much time I have, even to write this letter. What I do know now is that I'm in this and the only way I'm going to make it out alive is to see this through. I'm sure everyone is looking for me and if they figure out I was here CSU is going to search this house. They're going to look for blood and they will find it, which will lead them to this letter.Babe, it's your letter. And I hope you never have to read this, that I can tell you all of these things in person, but if something happens and I don't make it, I need you to know that our partnership, our relationship, is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. You're an amazing man and I love you with all of my heart. Always."

Midway through the letter; Alexis was getting a bit sleepy. She was still recuperating from giving birth to the twins. Jake would be back in the morning to pick Alexis up from the hospital. It was hard for them just as it had been hard for Castle and Beckett when Kat and JJ were born. But Alexis and Jake knew that it wouldn't be long before their girls were able to come home.

The following morning; Alexis was welcomed home by her entire family. A feast had been prepared and served.

When Siobhan and Charlotte came home things would be like they were now once again; but in the Hamptons. As Alexis was with her family she knew that at some point she'd have to introduce her daughters to Meredith.

"Make you some tea. Sorry about this. I know this isn't what you expected when you asked to stay here while your place is being fumigated. Alexis was supposed to be going to Paris with her mother."
"
It's fine."
"
Okay, well…."
"
I'll get it!"
"
If you wanted to stay in a hotel I would completely understand."
"
No. No, I'm not going to leave you just because your daughter's sick."
"
Richard…"
"I am going to make this up to you in so many ways."
"
Richard."
"
What?"
"
Your ex-wife is here."
"
Meredith?"
"
Mom?''"
"
Hello Kitten."
"
Uh, wha…what are you doing here?"
"
Alexis, oh, my poor baby."
"
Aren't you supposed to be in Paris?"
"
Not without my daughter. And since you can't go to Par-ee, I'm bringing Par-ee to you. French pastries andFunny Face.We can enjoy them as I nurse you back to health."

Alexis wasn't exactly looking forward to opening that can of worms and she hoped it wouldn't happen anytime soon. But that was always another story especially with Meredith involved.
