After a couple days of rest, Tommy took Muriel out onto the deck. Muriel was very surprised to see the number of people in the third class area. There was far less people there than there was on the Titanic. She looked around and saw very little men, as well as very little children, most who were dressed in blankets used for clothing.

"It's horrible", Tommy said. "So many people have died."

"Mother and Papa too", she said looking down. "They're gone too."

Tommy looked at Muriel and wrapped his arms around her. The news of their parents' deaths had been hard on the children. All they had known was life with them and didn't know what to do without them.

As Muriel and Tommy walked along the deck, they could hear the sobs and chatter of the women who were trying to find their husbands. The Carpathian stewards kept giving the same answers. They had no answers if the missing people were alive or dead.

"Muriel? Tommy?"

The two of them turned to see Rose wrapped in a blanket, looking very pale.

"Rose!" Muriel gasped.

"Shh!" she said. "Please, no one must know I'm here."

"Why?" Tommy asked. "What's going on? Where's Jack?"

Rose looked at them with tearless, but sad eyes before she looked down. Tommy and Muriel didn't need to hear anymore. Jack was dead, as well.

"But why are you hiding?" Muriel asked.

"My family's here", Rose quietly answered. "I can't go back to them. I can't go back to that hell I used to live in. I'm letting them think I'm dead."

Tommy and Muriel looked at her full of sympathy. Rose was practically alone now. She lost the person she loved and had no one that truly loved her or who could help support her.

"What are you going to do?" Muriel asked.

"I'm going to do what Jack and I planned to do", Rose answered. "I'm going to make every day count."

"Will we ever see you again?"

"Maybe. If I can, I'll meet you again someday."

Rose got up and hugged the two last friends she had left. She didn't know what she was going to do, but she did know that she was going to live her life to the fullest and do everything she could to get by. She pulled away and walked inside, leaving Tommy and Muriel unsure if they would ever see her again.

One more life with you
One more life to love you again

"Children, look."

Late that night as the Carpathia sailed through the rain, a statue of light stood in the darkness. All of the passengers gathered to the railing of the ship to take a look. The Statue of Liberty stood tall with the lantern of light in her hand. The passengers had finally reached New York. They were in America.

"Excuse me."

Tommy and Muriel turned to see a steward holding a clipboard.

"Can I have your names please?" he asked.

"Tommy Ryan", Tommy answered. "Along with my family, Muriel, Thomas, Margaret and Edith."

One more dream come true
You can wish on a star if you try

The steward nodded and walked away to collect more names of the survivors. Muriel looked at Tommy surprised. He had them listed as his family. Were they really going to stay with him?

"Your family?" Muriel asked.

"Yes", he said. "I love you. I have since I first saw you. Muriel, I want you and the children to stay with me. I know I haven't got much, but I will take care of the lot of you."

Time will say goodbye
Time is slowly fading away

Muriel looked at him speechless. Tommy loved her and wanted to be with her. The children looked at her, waiting for her to give Tommy an answer. What was there to say when someone said they loved you?

"I love you too, Tommy", she said.

Please don't ask me why
What I feel in this moment for you
What I feel in this moment for you

She wrapped her arms around Tommy, holding him tightly to her.

The love of my life, the love I've been waiting for
On the ocean of dreams, I loved you
Forevermore

"Does this mean you and Tommy are going to get married?" Margaret asked.

"God willing, yes", Tommy said. "I want to marry your sister and help take care of you."

We will meet again, just wait and see
Heaven knows that we will always be

"Marriage, eh?" Thomas said. "Well remember, she is my sister. And if you ever step out of line, you'll have to answer to me."

"Yes, little brother", Tommy teased as he ruffled the boy's hair.

The love of my life, the love I've been waiting for
On the ocean of dreams, I loved you
Forevermore

The prince of my dreams, the one I was waiting for
On the ocean of dreams, I loved you
Forevermore

Epilogue

Tommy and Muriel married just a few weeks after arriving in New York. Along with Thomas, Muriel and Edith, the happy couple was blessed with four children of their own, raising seven children in total. True to Rose's word, the two did see her again…in the silent films and stage shows where she went by the name Rose Dawson, in memory of Jack.

Tommy and Muriel lived a happy life for 65 years until Muriel's death in 1985, the year the wreck of the Titanic was discovered. Eight days later, Tommy followed, reuniting with her as well as the spirits of the Titanic to sail through the heavens.
