OT but when I was shopping today, I totally sampled the Hugo Boss cologne that Theo is the face of and let me just tell you that it's amazing. If you haven't tested it, you must do it. I am totally buying some for my fiance. That is first class man-scent right there lol

Tobias

I walk into the cafeteria like I do every morning, except this morning the room is empty. As I walk a bit deeper into the room, I see Tris and Tanner come out of the kitchen. She's walking toward one of the tables, but he reaches out and grabs her waist, pulling her back to him. He starts to kiss her, and as the kiss intensifies, he lays her down on one of the tables. I'm frozen in place as I watch this. His hands move up her sides slowly and he starts taking her shirt with them. She breaks the kiss and tells him to stop, but he doesn't. She tries to sit up and push him off, but he forces her back down onto the table and pins her wrists above her head. She cries out and he uses his other hand to start unbuttoning her pants. She starts to kick and wiggle around, protesting as hard as she can, but he punches her and forces her to be still. Before I realize it, I've moved across the room and am picking him up. I slam him into a wall and then effortlessly throw him across the room.

"Tobias," she says as she sits up and wraps her arms around me.

My eyes pop open and I sit straight up in bed, one of my pillows wrapped in my arms. I glare at it and throw it across the room. I get out of bed and go take a shower, letting the warm water rinse away the thoughts of that dream. After I get out, I shave my face and get dressed. I decide to skip breakfast and just head straight to work this morning. I can't say I have much of an appetite this morning, nor do I want to see Tanner or the cafeteria.

I'm the first person in the control room, so I sit down at my desk and start my computer. Despite my better judgment, I pull up the feed in the cafeteria. The tables are full of people as they usually are this time of morning. I see Tanner walking along some of the rows of tables and then I spot Tris refreshing one of the trays of scrambled eggs. Her hair is braided in an elaborate pattern and then pulled into a pony tail. I was hoping that she would have come by the apartment last night, but she didn't. Zeke was so sure that those flowers would work, I should have known better. I sigh as I watch her return to the kitchen. I really screwed up.

"You're here early."

I jump and close out of the feed before I spin around in my chair.

"Uh, yeah," I hesitate. "I've missed a lot of days, so I figured I'd get here early to start making up for it.

"Well, that's nice," Andrew says. "But I don't think anyone expects you to make up for it."

Andrew is one of the many new control room workers. He was Amity before the war, but since he saw what happens when you try to keep the peace by ignoring the facts, when the factions were dissolved he chose to work here. When I asked him why he chose to work in the Dauntless control room instead of one of the many other ones in the other factions, he said that the other ones didn't matter because anyone who tries to start problems or even another war would need the Dauntless workers to do it. I haven't known him for very long, but I trust him more than I trust most of the people here. I can't help but to suspect that he's Divergent, because he's far too forthcoming with his opinion to only have an aptitude for Amity.

"Why do you say that?" I look at him curiously.

"Because you're technically in charge of this place, not to mention you risked your life to keep this place safe, to keep all of us safe. And so did Tris. Nobody expects you to make up for lost time while you were helping her to recover," he states as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.

"I'm technically in charge?" I ask.

"Yeah," he says simply. "You're the one that trained all of us in here and you're the one that oversees everyone."

"I know that," I say, keeping my tone even. "I was asking because there is no technicality. I am in charge. And I know that no one expects me to make up for missed time, but it's nice to be here."

"Sorry," he says, slowly sitting down in his chair.

"No, it's me," I shake my head.

"Bad night?" He suggests.

"Really bad," I nod my head. "How's the Dauntless presentation coming?"

Since he's the one that I trust the most, I put him in charge of working on the presentation that we have to show to the sixteen year olds that will be picking their job in a couple weeks.

"I convinced some people to let me film them while they were training," he smiles. "They had some pretty cool moves, but there's just something missing."

"Like?"

"I don't really know. Dauntless is more than just fighting," he says. "It always has been, but now the jobs are definitely more than that. Dauntless protects the city, that's what they're supposed to do anyway. I think I need some footage of Tris Prior."

"Footage of Tris?" I swallow the lump forming in my throat as I say her name.

"Yeah, I think she would convince people that what we do here is about more than just fighting. I bet I could find sone footage from her initiation," he says as a light bulb flickers on in his eyes.

"Yeah, I'm sure," I say staring at him.

"Otherwise I'd have to ask her to let me film her doing some things but I doubt that she's physically able," he continues. "I'm surprised she's even mentally able to speak at the ceremony."

"What?" I ask quickly, abruptly.

"You haven't heard? Johanna asked her to speak at the ceremony and she agreed!" He smiles brightly.

"I don't," I pause, "I don't talk about Tris much."

"Oh," he says quickly. "I actually kind of forgot," he grimaces.

He has to have an aptitude for Candor.

"Yeah, I've been trying to, too," I shake my head a little.

"Sorry," he says, clasping his hand on my shoulder. "She'll come around," he nods his head.

"That's why I'm waiting for," I sigh.

I try to focus on checking all of the cameras for any signs of disturbances or anything else, but I can't stop thinking about her. I can't believe that she's going to speak at this ceremony. All they want to do is make it sound like we've all moved on since then and are better off now. No one is better off. We're all wasting away in a web of lies. I wonder what she's going to say. I can't imagine her getting up there all by herself and reliving that hellish nightmare for the entire city. I wish she would talk to me.

As I finish flipping through the cameras, the rest of the employees file into the controll room. Since they're all absorbed into their own tasks now, I take the opportunity to check up on some people that I've been ignoring lately. For someone who doesn't remember anything about himself, Peter sure does wander around here like nothing ever happened. He wanders the paths like a Dauntless that's lived here their entire life. In order for Peter to be resistant of the simulation serum that Erudite used to control Dauntless during the attack, he has to be divergent. But, he never showed any signs during initiation. Maybe that's why he left Candor; he was too good at lying and deceiving. Tris is resistant to virtually every serum, so does that mean that she might be resistant to memory serum as well? Does that mean that Peter is resistant? Is he really faking this whole thing? Acting like he doesn't know who he is or anything that's happened in the past while secretly plotting some massive scheme?

Could that be why I've seen him with Nita? She needs a GP to help her in her plot to take over the city with Evelyn?

I really wish Tris would talk to me. If Peter really is resistant to the serum, then she could be in danger. If he really is resistant to the serum then I know that I'm going to need her help to stop whatever it is that they're planning to do. The plot that Nita and Evelyn explained to me was too simple. There's no way that they're going to march into another city, convince people that they're telling the truth and march back into Chicago and take over. That's ridiculous. Maybe if I tell Christina what my thoughts are she'll tell Tris. I have to do something though. Something isn't right, and the last time I had this feeling, Abnegation was annihilated.

I pull the cameras up again and focus on the one that's in the same hallway as Christina's apartment. I watch the feed from midnight until now, only to discover that she left to have breakfast two hours ago and never came back. I check the cafeteria feed, but she isn't there. I watch Tris cleaning up the tables, her hips swinging ever so slightly as she wipes the tables off. I zoom out of the feed a bit and see Tanner standing in the door way of the kitchen watching her. Something feels off about him, too, I just don't know what it is. Do I just not like him because Tris does or is there really something that he's hiding? As I zoom back in on Tris, I am greeted with her bright eyes staring straight at the camera. Does she see it moving? Does she know it's me? Was she really just thinking about me and this is all a coincidence? My heart pounds hard in my chest. There's no way she saw it moving, she's too far away. Maybe she was looking at something else and it just looked like she was looking in the camera because of the angle. Or maybe she was thinking about me. Whatever the case may be, she moved on quickly, continuing to clean. Watching her clean up the Dauntless cafeteria threatens to make my mind explode. Only Tris would be Abnegation enough to help in the Dauntless kitchen. She really is incredible.
