Setting: Set in an alternative universe where the battles that happened after Book 4 in the real novel didn't happen, and Harry had somehow managed to defeat Voldemort during his short stint in the middle of the cemetery while trying to save Cedric.

Chapter 17

Seconds later, Silvia appeared, flying overhead. She landed swiftly, perching on the edge of the pool. Huge sapphire eyes stared at Ron and Draco in curiosity as the pair of them struggled to help each other up.

As a dragon, Silvia was the colour of pure silver. White streaks ran from her eyebrow down her spine, to the tip of her tail. She was a beautiful feline dragon, and even though Draco heart was wrestling with feelings he knew were somewhere between a crush and infatuation with Ron, he gave Silvia an appreciative look over.

"Mister Charlie wants to see the both of you," She said and flicked water on the pair of them, making them fall right back into the water.

Letting out a sound that could only be laughter, Silvia shot up into the air and flew off into another part of the enclosure.

Draco and Ron looked at each other. There was an intense moment when both of them could feel that there was something there…

I mean we did just kiss…right? Draco thought to himself.

When neither of them made a move or seemed to be brave enough to take the initiative, Draco got up first.

"We'd better go," Draco said and got up, stepping out of the pool and shaking himself off.

"Why don't you just warm your clothes?" Ron asked, smiling as he pulled back on his shirt, and sat down to pull on his socks and shoes.

"Huh?" Draco said and turned as he put his shirt on.

Ron grinned to himself, letting the silence stretch. He stood, having finished dressing rather quickly, and wrung water out of his hair.

"Well you're made of fire aren't you? You can easily dry your clothes if they are wet" Ron finally replied.

Draco pulled down his shirt, his eyes wide " Wait, then if you already knew I could do that, why did you ask me to take off my clothes. Why did you-"

Ron grinned mischievously " Well it was worth a shot, seeing you undress"

"Wha…," Draco said, feeling the sparkles inside his heart kindle a little. Then they fizzled out " You tricked me" Draco snapped, his eyes narrowing to slits.

Draco tried to trip Ron, which Ron dodged with no trouble and transformed himself into his water-dragon form, and after a moment of looking at Draco with those huge deep-blue eyes, he flew off, leaving Draco to dress undisturbed.

Draco crossed his arms and wondered to himself whether he really could control how much fire he used without burning his clothes to cinders.

After a few moments of concentration, Draco willed it, and within a few minutes, Draco had dried himself off. Feeling rather smug about his success, he to transformed into his dragon form and flew off to find Ron and Charlie.

Charlie and Ron at the port-key. Charlie had already begun to explain to Ron their new arrangements and lifestyle. Draco landed beside them and walked into his human form as he landed as the space around the portkey was far too small for a dragon.

"Classes for the two of you are as per-normal, however, you take your meals here in the Dome, and instead of classes such as Herbology and Dark Arts, you are going to train under Silvia" Charlie explained, "Silvia is a superb teacher. She has helped me couch many newborn dragons. She will be teaching you how to use your magic in both your human and dragon forms.

The tricky part about dragon magic is that it does not require a wand. You can still use the want, but you will not have hands in your dragon form, and if you depend on your wand as a dragon, in the event of a battle, if the enemy gets their hand on your wand, they can actually manipulate you into a trap.

She will also be teaching you how to harness your connection with the earth. You'll be surprised what you can do when you harness your mental power over the natural kingdom"

Charlie grinned, looking more excited about this new training arrangement than Ron and Draco themselves.

"Ron showed me a bit, I think," Draco said and produced from a pocket the wooden Celtic circle Ron had twisted into perfection.

"Ah, that's beautiful" Charlie grinned and took it from Draco to admire it "If you were business-minded, you could specialise in the arts and create and sell works of art like these! Imagine how much people would pay for this beauty!" Charlie exclaimed, marvelling over the metal trinket.

The two dragons looked at each other awkwardly, wondering what to do when Charlie snapped back into focus and grinned at the two "Anyway, learn the basics. Silvia will be with you for three months. During that time, I hope the two of you will learn from her as much as possible."

"Right. So she's not just here to balance out our energies" Ron murmured.

"Well, she is here for that as well. It is impossible for me to remain here to settle anything between you two as well as maintain my job and responsibilities over at the HQ. Until Silvia has certified that the both of you are fine on your own, she will remain to help and guide the both of you" Charlie grinned "Besides, comparative to me, at least Silvia can knock you guys about the place. She is very strong – don't underestimate her"

"We won't" Ron and Draco said at the same time, then grinned at one another, both rememberings being dragged down deep into the depth of the waterfall and dragged about just because she had been "playing".

End of Chapter 17

And so school resumes for this pair of newborn dragons...
