Jamie lay in the middle of the street, blood pooling out of his chest. His eyes looked at the perfectly clear sky. He felt no pain, he knew that was a bad thing but he couldn't think of why. A smile grew on his face. In the sky he saw a staircase appear, and someone started to walk down them. His smile grew bigger when he saw the persons face. His mother smiled warmly at him. She reached out a hand. Suddenly, Jamie felt like he was flying. He reached out his hand and grabbed his mother's. She pulled him close and wrapped him in a tight hug. Jamie hugged her back and buried his face in her neck, just like he did when he was a child. He pulled away and glanced back down at his bleeding body. He could feel that his body was still hanging on. Jamie grew sad when he saw Danny burst through the crowd and fall to his knees. He could faintly hear Danny whispering in his ear.

"Don't worry, Mom and Joe will be waiting for you. Just remember that we all love you." Danny couldn't talk anymore as the tears rolled down his face. He knew that Jamie wouldn't make it, there was already too much blood.

Jamie started to cry as he watched Danny sob over his body. Jamie could feel that his body was giving up. His mom placed a hand on his shoulder.

"It is your time, dear." Jamie looked his mother in the eye and stood tall.

"Not it's not. They need me. They will fall apart if they lose me too." Jamie's mother smiled.

"Then fight like a true Reagan." Jamie smiled and gave his mom another hug. Jamie began his journey down the staircase. Each step was harder than the last, but he could feel his body start to fight. Finally, he reached his body.

Jamie opened his eyes to a white hospital room. He felt somebody's hand on his. He looked to find Danny asleep in a chair. Jamie smiled and thought that if he would have spent anymore time with his mother then he wouldn't be here. Jamie tightened his grip on Danny's hand, causing him to awaken. Danny smiled when his eyes met Jamie's.

"I thought you were gone."

"I almost was. But then I decided to stay." Danny leaned over and gave Jamie a gentle hug.

"Don't you ever do that to me again!"

"I don't plan on it." Jamie smiled and closed his eyes. One last thought ran through his mind before he fell asleep. I'll be with you one day Mom.
