So I have decided to continue this A-Z story, because I loved writing it and I know many of you loved reading it. So I am going to create new one shots and they are going to go from Z-A. I am open to suggestions for the chapters. Hope you enjoy the stories to come.
Jamie walked through the zoo with Nicki. She wanted to see all the animals for a paper she was writing. She was giggling happily as she watched the moneys interact. Jamie looked at his watch and sighed. He had been up for over 24 hours and was ready to go to bed. He had just finished a shift, when Nicki had called and begged for him to take her to the zoo. He had agreed, because it was hard to say no to Nicki.
Jamie sat down on a near-by bench and closed his eyes. The sun was giving him a headache. He heard Nicki call his name so he opened his eyes. She was already on her way to the next animal exhibit. Jamie pushed himself off the bench and followed Nicki around. This routine lasted for another hour and then Nicki declared that she was hungry.
"Where do you want to go?" Jamie smiled at Nicki. She looked up to him.
"I'm buying." Before Jamie could protest she spoke again. "I know how tired you are Uncle Jamie. And you didn't have to bring me, but you still did. The least I can do is buy you lunch." Jamie smiled at the teen.
"Fine. But if you're buying then you get to pick where we are going." Nicki smiled and opened up her purse to see how much money she had. Jamie pulled his keys out of his pocket and unlocked Nicki's door for her.
Out of nowhere a man came running and grabbed Nicki's purse out of her hands. She screamed in shock and Jamie jumped at her sudden shriek. In an instant, Jamie was running after the thief and tackled him to the ground. He pinned the guy there, until the zoo security came running to them. As they cuffed the guy, one of them helped Jamie to his feet. When Jamie stood, he almost fell back down. His ankle flared in pain and he winced. Nicki came running and let Jamie use her as a support.

Jamie and Nicki walked into the front door, Erin called to them from the kitchen. They slowly made their way there. Erin turned to greet them but stopped when she saw that Jamie's ankle was wrapped and he was leaning on a pair of crutches. She gave Jamie a questioning look. Jamie just shrugged and Nicki giggled.
"Uncle Jamie is a hero. He tackled some thief who tried to steal my purse." Nicki held up her purse to show that she still had it. Erin smiled and mouthed a silent thank you. Jamie nodded and waved good-bye, as he turned to leave Nicki ran up to him and gave him a crushing hug.
"Thank you Uncle Jamie." Jamie smiled at her and gave her a kiss on the top of her head.
"It's my job to protect people and you are one of the most important people that I could protect."
