Deleted chapter from Rio the series 3

Okay, everyone, this is part 2 to the previous chapter when Blu and Jewel were injured. It was suppose to be a two-part episode in Rio the series 3. Enjoy.

After the two lovebirds had finished having their bath, Linda had returned them to the guest room for them to continue their recovery. She placed them on top of the bed right next to the the pillow and left them to have some privacy.

Jewel moved closer to her husband and snuggled her head down on his chest.

Blu placed his good wing over the lovely Jewel while he tucked both of them under a blanket (even with his broken talons) and got comfortable on the bed. "Hmmm, that bath sure was relaxing, wasn't it, Jewel?"

"Mmmm." Jewel hummed, agreeing her husband while closing her eyes and resting her head down on a pillow. "Yeah, it was relaxing. Made me feel MUCH better."

The two lovebirds in bandages cuddled close together, and cuddled close with each other. They both sighed quietly to themselves, trying to think of something to do for themselves.

Jewel sighed as she cuddled closer to her husband before inquiring to him if there was anything else they could do to pass the time. "So, Blu, what else can we do?"

"Hmm." Blu hummed, tapping a single wingtip under his chin to try and think for something to do. "Umm, well. We could watch TV again."

"Nah, that's kinda boring, now." Jewel declined, playfully tapping her wingtips around Blu's chest for entertainment.

"Well, we could read some books together." Blu suggested.

"I can't read, Blu, remember?" Jewel reminded, placing her good wing behind the back of her head, looking up towards the ceiling.

Blu gave up on giving suggestions for something for his wife to do so decided to get some rest for a little while. He closed his eyes and cuddled his head into the pillow. "Well, I'm going to sleep for a little while."

As soon as Blu was already sound asleep, Jewel sighed as she too laid her head down against the pillow but kept her eyes tired since she was not that sleepy yet. "Hmmm, what can I do to pass the time? I guess I could go downstairs...With Linda..."

Jewel's eyes then widened when you realized what she had just thought to herself. Thank God Blu did not hear her if she was talking loudly. "Me spending time with a human? What's wrong with you, Jewel? Well, I guess it couldn't hurt. She seems nice and she did let me and Blu stay here."

So that was her decision. Jewel decided to go downstairs and see what Linda was up to for something to do. She carefully slipped out of the bed, being careful not to wake up her husband, and jumped down towards the ground.

Jewel made her way out of the room since the door was left open and made her way towards the stairs before hopping down all of them until she was right at the bottom of the stairs. She walked towards the desk where Linda was typing on her computer. Jewel squawked to get her attention.

Linda turned around to see the injured blue macaw wanting her attention so he leaned down and carefully picked up Jewel into both of her hands before setting her down onto the desk beside her. "Good morning, Jewel. How do you sleep?"

Jewel merely squawked in response, smiling on her beak for Linda to understand she slept fine.

Linda smiled in response as she moved her hand towards Jewel and gently stroked her down her back, being careful not to hurt her of course.

Jewel cooed as she closed her eyes while Linda continued to stroke her down her head down to her back. Jewel had to admit she enjoyed being stroked by a human and was cherishing every moment of it.

Eventually, Linda stopped stroking Jewel when the door to the bookstore opened. She turned her attention to greet the customer only to see it was Tulio, who must have dropped by to check on Blu and Jewel.

Linda kindly greeted him while she adjusted her eyes across his face. "Morning, Tulio."

"Morning, Linda." he greeted, walking closer to the desk counter where he saw Jewel standing beside Linda, looking at him all curiously. "I just came to check on Blu and Jewel."

"Well, here's Jewel, and Blu's upstairs." Linda said, gesturing a hand towards the blue macaw.

Tulio placed his hands around Jewel and carefully picked her up. He set her down in one hand while examining her with the other. Tulio hummed as he lifted her wing up and looked into her eyes. "Hmm, yep, she's gonna make a full recovery. Now we just need to check on Blu."

With permission from Linda, Tulio walked up the stairs towards Linda's home to check on the other blue macaw too. He made his way to the bedroom while holding Jewel safely in his hands until they were there.

When they got into the room, Tulio set Jewel down onto the bed while he attended to Blu, who was still sleeping. The ornithologist carefully took Blu from out of under the blanket before he began checking his injuries to see if he was going to be alright. "Hmm, his wing and talons are badly damaged, he still seems to be a little woozy...But it looks like he's going to be just fine."

Jewel sighed in relief, thankful that her lovehawk was going to be just fine and would make a full recovery. She moved closer to him before cuddling beside, snuggling herself next to him while Tulio was kind enough to tuck them in the blanket.

Tulio left the room shortly after, seeing his job was done and closed the door behind him to give the privacy.

After he was gone, Jewel rested her head down on Blu's chest, being careful of course due to his injuries. Now that they knew they were going to be just fine, Jewel could relax and adjust to this human life for the next few weeks.
