Deleted chapter from Rio the Darkness 3
Alright. This is the next deleted chapter from the previous one. On this ending, Jewel was not brought back from the dead...Instead, it ended with a sad ending...
A couple of days had passed since the events of Nexus and his army. His army had been taken to the prison, and all of the birds had returned to their normal lives as free-spirited birds.
However, not everyone got to back how life use to be.
Near the middle of the Jungle, a blue macaw stood over his wife's grave, mourning her after she was murdered by Nexus not too long ago. He wiped a tear away from his eye while quietly speaking to her grave like she was there. "Jewel...How are you, beautiful...? I hope you are at peace up there...I...I miss you so much, Jewel. I sometimes wish it was me Nexus killed...But I promise I will take good care of the children, and they will never have to worry about a thing..."
Blu stood up from his wife's grave and prepared to leave but stopped when he saw a familiar friend standing a few feet away from him. He growled while gazing upon the hawk. "Rico..."
"Blu..." Rico said, folding both of his wings together. "I see you were paying your respects to Jewel. I was just coming to do the same-"
"Don't!" Blu snapped, angry that Rico would dare come to him after all that has happened. "It's your fault she's dead!"
"My fault?!" Rico said, placing a wing upon his chest. "You were the one who failed to protect her!"
"You were the one helping Nexus!" Blu yelled, pointing a wingtip towards Rico. "You believed all of his lies!"
"Forgot the lies, Blu!" Rico said, thinking that he was the one right and that Blu was in the wrong her. "I've known Jewel longer than you, and she deserves better! She deserves someone who will protect her and love her instead of some domesticated bird from America. She would be alive if she didn't fail to act!"
Finally losing his breaking point after Rico's hurtful words, Blu charged towards Rico like a rampaging bull, wanting to finish this once and for all.
As he was coming towards him, Rico cracked his neck both sides and extended his wings out from his sides, ready for round 3 with him. "Alright, I ain't gonna run! Come on!"
The two former friends engaged in combat together, hitting and countering each other with their wings and talons.
Blu threw multiple hits towards Rico who dodged half of them but did get hit him a few times.
Rico blocked one of Blu's wings and returned a couple of hits towards him while pushing Blu forward towards a nearby tree. He pushed Blu against the tree and gripped his throat in his talon, gripping him tight.
Rico yelled towards the blue macaw while he held his throat in his talon. "Tell me, Blu, what makes you angier?! That your friend you betrayed has returned from the dead or that I am a better hero than you could ever be?!"
Blu growled as he placed his wings upon Rico and pushed him down to the ground, holding his wing towards his neck. "You're believing lies people tell you and harming the innocent! You're just another villain!"
"I'm not a villain!" Rico snapped, headbutting Blu in his face to make him release his grip.
Blu groaned as he picked up Rico with his wings and delivered to strikes towards him, hitting him across his face.
Rico countered his next attack and hit him back directly in his face, almost breaking Blu's beak in the process. He grabbed Blu's wing and pushed the blue macaw into a tree.
Blu swiftly turned around to get a better advantage and kicked Rico in his stomach, attempting to wind him. He pushed the hawk down before getting on top of him and holding him down with his wings. "Just give up, Rico!"
"You know you can't beat me, Blu!" Rico reminded, placing his wings around Blu and flipping them both around, rolling them around near the edge of a cliff that leaded towards the ocean.
The hawk kept himself on Blu to keep him down while he rapidly hit Blu across his face with both of his wings, causing him extreme pain throughout his face.
Rico continued to hit Blu rapidly while talking to him at the same time. "You're weak, Blu! You know that I am stronger, quicker, and better than you! You know that you can't beat me! That's why Jewel died!"
Although he was feeling like he was going to pass out, Blu heard those words that Rico just mentioned and that made him angry than he was now. He gripped Rico's wing when he attempted to hit him again and bit his wing before pushing him away.
Blu jumped back up onto his talons and began hitting Rico while he had the chance, rapidly hitting him across his chest with a series of quick, focused attacks. He delivered one last hit towards Rico in his chest, knocking the hawk down onto his back.
Blu panted as he gained his breath back, ready for more, knowing that Rico was not going to give up just like that. "That's enough, Rico, it's over!"
Rico howled as he charged towards Blu, steaming mad. He threw four hits towards Blu, who dodged each one before he gripped Rico's wing and kicked him back.
The hawk curled his wings like fists for a second time and attempted to hit Blu in his face.
The blue macaw dodged by ducking under Rico's before he moved forward and struck Rico in his stomach and shoved him away, causing Rico to fall down onto his stomach.
While he was recovering, Blu leaned both of his wings back and attempted to earslap Rico. The hawk saw it coming and placed both of his wings over his ears to block Blu's earslap attempt.
However, it did knock him off concentration a little, and Blu used that to his advantage by gripping Rico's wing in his own before he bent it back and then SNAP! His right wing was broken out of shape.
Rico screamed in agony as he leaned backwards, holding his broken wing with his free wing. "AHHH! GRRRrrr!"
Blu panted as he watched Rico move backwards, now knowing he was too weak to attack. However, Blu did notice he was getting close to the edge of the cliff so he quickly attempted to warn him. "Rico, look out!"
Before he knew it, Rico's talons slipped from the edge of cliff and he fallen down towards the ocean. He stopped just off of the cliff and looked up where he saw Blu holding his good wing with his own, trying to save him.
Rico smirked in response, not believing Blu would still try and save him after everything he did. "You just couldn't let me go, could you?"
"Rico, no time for arguing!" Blu grunted, struggling to pull Rico up, even though he is using both of his wings. "You gotta pull yourself up!"
"Blu..." Rico smiled, finally accepting what he done was wrong, and that he needed to be punished for what he did. "You were right...It's my fault Jewel is dead, and I shouldn't have never believed Nexus's lies...I'm sorry."
"I know..." Blu groaned, still struggling to pull him up. "Please, help me!"
"Not this time, Blu." Rico said, moving his beak towards Blu's wing. "This time it's over."
Before Blu could answer, Rico had bitten his wing, causing Blu to release his grip. He watched as the hawk plummeted towards the ocean, in seconds, there was a splash in the water.
"RICO!" Blu screamed at the top of his lungs, not believing he was gone and that he couldn't save him. He closed his eyes while tears began to roll out from his eyes.
He mourned his friend who had just perished, despite the battle they just had. "Rico...No...Rico..."
