Danny glanced at his phone, for what felt like the hundredth time. Jamie was late, Really late. Jamie was a punctual man, so it bothered Danny that his little brother hadn't even called to inform him of his absence or tardiness. Danny looked at his phone again and decided to give Jamie a call. It rang and rang and rang, but Jamie didn't answer. He decided to call the station. After a brief conversation, Danny discovered that Jamie had left the station 45 minutes ago. Danny sighed and threw some money on the table, he had to get back to work. The kid probably was at home, sleeping. A weird feeling washed over Danny, but he pushed it aside. Jackie was waiting for him when he sat down at his desk.

"Boss wants you to go interview a Joe Doe at the hospital."

"Why me?"

"He's still made at you for the little incident earlier."

"The guy deserved it." Jackie laughed slightly and placed the folder on Danny's desk. He flipped through it. The man had been jumped and he was suffering from temporary amnesia. Danny groaned, he hated amnesia patients. He grabbed his coat and walked out. Danny took his time getting to the hospital, telling himself that if he took longer, the victim would remember more.

Danny walked up to the front desk and flashed his badge.

"What can I help you with Detective?"

"I'm here to interview the John Doe that you have."

"Ok. I'll show you to his room." Danny nodded and followed the nurse. She stopped in-front of the patients door.

"His amnesia, will be temporary. He should regain memory in the next twenty-four hours."

"Thanks." The nurse walked away and Danny pushed open the door. His eyes landed on the man in the bed and he almost dropped everything he was holding. Danny took a step into the room. "Jamie?" The man turned to look at Danny.

"Who's Jamie?" Danny sat down in the chair by the bed.

"You have no idea who you are?" Jamie shook his head. "And you don't recognize me?" He shook his head again. "The doc. said that the amnesia is only temporary. So you should be back to normal in no time." Danny smiled at Jamie, but Jamie seemed scared. Danny stuck his hand out.

"Danny Reagan, your big brother." Jamie shook his hand cautiously.

"I can't remember anything...but...the men who attacked me." Danny pulled out his file and a pen.

"Ok, I want you to tell me everything you remember."

"I was walking...I can't remember where I was going...but I was walking down the street and then three men pulled me into an alley. They took my wallet and then started the beat me. I tried fighting back, but there were too many. One of them threw my head into the wall and I blacked out. Then I woke up here."

"Ok. I'll get this to the station, do you think you could describe the men to a sketch artist?"

"Yeah, I think so." Danny smiled.

"Good. I'm going to step outside." Jamie nodded and Danny stepped into the hallway. He pulled out his phone.

"Hey Danny, how's the interview going?"

"Jackie, It's Jamie. He was jumped on the way to have lunch with me and now he has temporary amnesia." Finally, Danny's emotions were catching up to him and he was on the verge of tears.

"Oh, my."

"Can you send a sketch artist? He said he can remember the guys faces. I want to bring these bastards in."

"I'm on it. Call your family." The line went dead and Danny dialed his father's number. When he didn't answer Danny left him a voice mail.

"Hey Dad, um. Jamie got jumped today and he is...um...he has temporary amnesia. The doctors say he should remember everything in the day next or so. Um...I'm here with him and I'm going to stay with him. When you get this can you let everyone know?" Danny hung up and entered Jamie's room. Jamie's eyes were closed and his breathing was slow and even, so Danny knew that he was sleeping. Danny silently closed the door and sat in the chair next to him. He wanted so badly to reach out and grab Jamie's hand, but he knew it would startle him.

Two hours passed and Jamie finally woke up. He blinked a couple times and the focused on Danny, he smiled slightly.

"Nice to see you're awake. Do you know who I am?"

"Yea," Danny perked up. "You're the detective that questioned me about me attack." Danny sagged back in his chair. Jamie chuckled a little. "You're also my brother." Danny smiled at Jamie.

"How much can you remember?"

"Just a little. Just names and their relationship to me, no memories of them or with them."

"Ok, tell me who you remember."

"Um...Erin is my older sister, Joe is my older brother, and you. Dad...um...grandpa...and...um...Mom." Jamie concentrated hard. "Erin has a daughter...Nicki. You have one...no, two sons. Jack and Sean, and your wife is...Linda."

"Not bad. What else do you remember?" Jamie shook his head.

"Nothing." Danny reached a hand out and patted Jamie's shoulder.

"You're already improving, that's good. I think that sleep is helping you. So you should go back to sleep." Jamie yawned tiredly. He shifted slightly and then closed his eyes.

Danny watched over him and never left his side. When the door opened, Danny jumped. Frank, Henry, Erin, Linda, Nicki, and the boys walked in the room. Danny motioned for them to be quiet, but it was too late. Jamie had already begun to stir. He opened his eyes and smiled at everyone. Frank stepped forward.

"Hi, Jamie. Do you recognize any of us?" Jamie smiled bigger.

"Yeah, all of you." Jamie kept glancing around the room, as if he was looking for someone.

"Jamie who are you looking for?" Jamie looked at Erin.

"When are Mom and Joe coming?" The atmosphere in the room changed drastically. No one was sure what to say. They just glanced at each other until Jamie spoke again. He kept his head down. "I'm sorry I asked. I just remembered." Danny reached a hand out and placed it on Jamie's shoulder.

"Get some sleep, little bro. You'll remember more when you wake up." Danny ushered everyone out of the room.

"He'll remember everything right?" There were unshed tears in Erin's eyes.

"Doctors say he will."

Danny convinced everyone to go home and he would call them if anything changed. He went back to sitting vigil by Jamie's bed. After a while, he tried to stay awake, but he dozed off.

He woke in the morning by the sun. He was stiff and stood to stretch. When he turned back around he noticed Jamie looking at him.

"Morning, what do you remember?" Jamie yawned.

"Walking from the station to have lunch with you. Then I was jumped and...that's it."

"You don't remember anything from after he were jumped?" Jamie shook his head.

"Wow, I guess it was the amnesia."

"I had amnesia?" Danny nodded.

"But you're fine now."
