Here's the next chapter, ladies and gentlemen. And I would like to thank author Blu Razgriz for allowing me to use his new oc who will play a part in this alternative story. Hope you all enjoy.
Now that Blu was healed and in perfect condition, he, the Angelus and Drako had ordered a meeting in a huge area behind the Angelus's castle. There, they had gathered every last one of the remaining light macaws available to prepare for their attack against Nexus directly at his home.
Blu, the Angelus and Drako stood together inside the castle by the exit/entrance to a huge balcony overlooking the entire army of light macaws. With them were the Angelus's personal guards. Before they could leave, they would have to debrief the army of their plans rather than have them running in there blindly.
As they waited, Drako had just finished putting a potion together with some spells he borrowed from a mage and once it was ready, he stood up and handed the potion bottle over to Blu. "Here, Blu, drink this. It will restore your previous light powers, including the black magic you received in the dream world."
"Thanks, Drako." Blu thanked, accepting the bottle as he was about to take a sip, but he stopped and arched a curious eyebrow. "But how will this give me my black magic? I thought everything in that dream world was not real."
"Even delusions can affect the body." Drako explained in the simplest terms possible. He beckoned for him to continue.
Blu lifted the bottle up towards his beak, hoping it would not taste bad or it would not give him extreme pain like the Sacred Water did. He swallowed the bottle in one and waited a few seconds for it to take effect. "Wow...That was, well, easy-OW!"
Blu pressed his wings against his head and closed his eyes as tight as he could. He fell towards the ground on his side, hoping the pain would go as soon as possible. "Ow, oh! Erg! It hurts!"
"Just try to relax." the Angelus soothed, kneeling down towards him and placing her wing against his shoulders. She turned back towards her personal guards and gave them a nod to let them know everything was fine and she was now in any danger.
Blu continued doing so for a moment or so but he could feel the light essence and the black magic returning to him from the inside. He shot his eyes open when the pain suddenly stopped and he felt better than ever.
He got back up onto his talons and observed his body. He had all of his light essence tattoos back in the exact same spots across his body, including the star across his body and the shape of a claw mark with each three of the claw toes in the shape of lighting. "Wow. It feels...It feels different."
"With both of your powers combined, it will, but you'll get use to it." the Angelus assured, before she turned her towards the hallway where a familiar face had turned up. She smiled and beckoned for him to arrive. "Blu, there is somewhere I would like you to meet."
Blu turned his attention around to see a gold and blue macaw walk towards them with a smile across his face. He arched a curious eyebrow while thinking to himself. "How did a gold and blue macaw get here?"
"Blu, this is Sigma." the Angelus introduced the two when they were close. "Sigma has been staying with us for a while now. He's going to help us."
"A pleasure will be all mine, your Majesty." Sigma agreed, before turning his attention towards Blu and both shook each other's talons. "Hi dude, I've heard so much about you! I can't wait to help you beat Nexus."
"Nice to meet you, Sigma." Blu agreed with a smile across his beak, but he could not help but wonder how this simply gold and blue macaw was going to help them. "But if I may ask, what can you do to help?"
"Watch and learn, bro." Sigma replied, lifting up his wing towards Blu. His wing began to glow and it began to spark a little before lighting had suddenly appeared into his wing, startling Blu slightly. "Check it out. Lighting."
"Wow, that's incredible." Blu admitted, observing the lighting across his wing that did not look like it was harming him in anyway. "How did you do that?"
"Well, it's a long story." Sigma admitted, rubbing the back of his neck for a moment as he turned towards the Angelus who was speaking with a few of her guards. He raised a smile across his beak. "Well, since we got a few minutes, here's my story..."
Flashback
It was a peaceful afternoon throughout the city of Rio de Janeiro. The weather was peaceful, the sun was shining, and everyone was enjoying themselves, especially a certain gold and blue macaw. Five-year-old Sigma and a few of his friends were hanging around the Christ the Redeemer Status, enjoying themselves.
Sigma was without a doubt the most excited one here. He cheered happily as he flew multiple times around the statue with his friends, challenging them to see who could fly faster, and so far, he was willing. "Keep up, slow pokes!"
"No fair, Sigma, you're too fast!" one of his friends a scarlet macaw complained.
"We can't keep up with you!" a toucan complained.
One his other friends, a military macaw had looked up towards the sky and noticed the sun slowly descending behind dark clouds and he knew for a fact what was going to happen. He quickly flew towards his friends and snapped them out of their fun back into reality. "Guys, a storms coming in! We better get home!"
The others followed to where he was looking and could confirm the weather turning dark, hinting a big storm was coming in soon, and to stay out in it would be very deadly. Most of them proceeded to leave before it got bad, but one of them stayed behind for some reason.
The scarlet macaw turned back for a moment to see Sigma still around the Statue. Did he not hear what they just said? "Sigma, a storm's coming, we got to go!"
"No way! I'm going to watch it!" Sigma enthusiastically called out, taking flight towards the top of the statute. He was a reckless happy adrenaline bird who loved nothing more than to do stuff fun yet dangerous.
The others could see there was no convincing him to come back and quickly departed before the storm rolled in, leaving Sigma all on his own, but he did not mind. Sigma sat on the Statue's head and watched the lighting storm in the distance towards the city. He felt like he could sit here all day and admire it. "This is awesome!"
However, Sigma had been there now for quite some time. He had been there for at least two hours, just sitting there and watching the lighting. He only just realized the storm was now coming over towards the Statue and if a lighting strike were to start, he would surely be in danger.
Sigma dazed out of his thoughts and only now noticed the heart of the storm right over him. "Yikes!" he jumped, immediately taking flight away from the Statue and towards the jungle that was not too far away. Now was a good time to get out of there.
He flew as fast as his wings could carry him and managed to get right over the jungle. However, he felt the air around him gaining a huge amount of static charge and he knew for a fact what that meant. Quick as a flash, Sigma darted down towards the jungle like a missile, desperate to get out of there.
Sigma could see his home not too far away and if he was fast enough, he might be able to make it. He was almost in the safety of his home, but before he could make it, a lightning echoed throughout the sky and a single lightning bolt struck Sigma directly against him.
Before he knew it, Sigma's world around him began to fade away and his eyes closed on their eye. As his wings halted to a stop, his body had just about made it towards his home. He slid inside and landed in the center of his hollow on the verge of death. It was now unknown if he survived the lighting strike or not.
The next morning, the big storm had now passed and the sun across Rio shined once again. Deep below in the jungle of Rio de Janeiro inside a single tree hollow, Sigma the gold and blue macaw slowly woke up with a great pain shooting through his head.
"Oh, man." he groaned, lifting himself back up as he rubbed his wing against his head. "What a night..."
Sigma stood up under his own strength and proceeded to go and get himself some breakfast. He extended his wings and took flight into the sky, but as he was flying, he felt a slight static shot shoot through his coat of feathers.
After collecting his fruit, Sigma made it back home with a fresh apple for breakfast, but along the way, he kept feeling static shoot through his body that was beginning to annoy him and worry him. He dropped the apple down into his home and carefully observed his body. "What the heck is wrong with me?"
Observing his feathers, Sigma noticed that electric blue feather streaks were all across his feathers. "What is going on? I-" Sigma cut himself off when lightning fired out from his wing and hit the wall inside his hollow. "What the?"
At that moment, Sigma realized the lightning bolt that struck him last night had given him an extraordinary power: the power of lighting.
Present time
"...And for the next ten years, I mastered my powers and learnt to control them and use them when I like." Sigma finished his back story to his new blue macaw friend. "That Nexus dude kidnapped me for my powers, but I was rescued by her people. They captured others with powers and took samples of their blood, but we managed to rescue them. At the moment, they are recovering."
"Wow, that's an incredible story." Blu admitted, almost feeling like his story was better than his own. He got his powers by merely accepting a tattoo.
Before long, the Angelus shifted her attention towards the entrance/exit to the balcony and realized it was time. "Blu, Drako, let's go."
"I'll see you later, Blu." Sigma bidden his blue macaw friend goodbye and proceeded to go elsewhere for now until he was needed.
Blu and Drako nodded in agreement and proceeded to follow the Angelus outside onto her balcony. The three of them stopped at the end of the balcony with the Angelus standing in the center, Blu on her right and Drako on her left. Her personal guards followed but they guarded the exit/entranced.
The Angelus looked down below to see her army, her people below looked up towards her and remained silent in respect and so she could speak. She raised her wings and spoke loud enough for everyone to hear. "My fellow brothers and sisters of the World of Light! Today is the day we end the Great War between light and dark!"
Every light macaw below cheered for their queen in response.
Blu was amazed by her speech so far, but he could not help but act a little nerdish. He thought to himself while the crowd cheered. "How can everyone down now hear the Angelus? No wait, how can she talk that loud? There's no microphone here."
The Angelus continued the rest of her speech when the crowd fell silent. "I know with the recent attack we don't have the maximum population of our army, but we will have to make do with what we have. If we don't act soon enough, Nexus will observe the souls of his family and will become truly immortal. We cannot let them happen. The prophecy said a blue macaw would bring Nexus down, and I have faith that Blu is the one who will bring down Nexus and bring out the light."
All eyes below met Blu, who felt a little shy with all these eyes staring upon him, but he tried to keep a straight face.
"But know that he is not alone." the Angelus assured him, placing her wing upon his shoulder with a supportive expression across her face. She turned back towards her people with a smile. "All of us are with him, and together, we are going to bring Nexus down once and for all!"
"HOORAY!" the entire light macaw army cheered for their queen, agreeing with her one-hundred percent. If it meant bring down Nexus, than they would do it. Every last one of them.
"Let's finish this!" Blu agreed with his wings raised in the air. He turned towards the Angelus and gave her a nod to say he was ready to which she returned. He finally had enough of all this evil and was ready to end this once and for all.
In the World of Darkness, the evil hawk Nexus stood on the top of his castle with a quarter of his army of dark macaws below. Standing by him were Vadin and Kate. He continued slowly connecting himself to the scroll that he kept safely hidden in his castle. He could not wait to connect to it.
"It is time to end this." Nexus told his generals. "I will soon become immortal and finish off my enemies once and for all. Nothing shall standing in my way."
"We're with you the entire way, Lord Nexus." Vadin assured him, raising an evil grin across his beak. He felt it was like such an honor to be aside the most powerful bird he had ever come across.
"We will do everything we can, Lord Nexus." Kate added, placing her wing upon her hip while she stood a few feet away from her king. She could not wait to help him take over Rio's jungle, and most important, she hoped to take her revenge against the female blue macaw.
"Good. Good." Nexus nodded in agreement. He closed his eyes and quietly meditated, feeling himself becoming closer and closer to merging with the scroll. He opened his eyes again and turned around to face his armory. "I'm so close. Nothing will stop me now!" he shouted.
"Not today, Nexus!"
Nexus recognized that voice anywhere. He could not believe it. He turned around towards the bottom of his castle and his face got full of anger when his eyes met a familiar blue macaw. Last time he checked, Blu was half-broken but now here he was, looking better than ever. "Impossible!"
Down below, Blu, the Angelus, Drako, Sigma and an army full of light macaws stood behind them. The army of dark macaws saw this and raised their weapons charged towards them with their weapons raised, preparing to defend their king's castle.
"GET THEM!" Nexus ordered in his loudest voice, pointing his right wing straight towards his enemies. He was so close to winning and would not let them get him.
Both armies charged towards one another and engaged each other in combat.
As they engaged near a huge area in front of the castle, Blu, the Angelus, Drako, and four of the Angelus's personal guards pushed through the dark macaws. The small group stood just outside Nexus's castle and waited for him to make the first move. Sigma, however, got busy with other dark macaws and decided to help the light macaws out with his powers.
Nexus growled as he closed his eyes and quickly activated one of his powers that would buy him some time. He activated a dark essence bubble shield around the area of his castle, leaving both armies trapped outside. It served as an advantage to him now that they were the only ones left.
"Now just eight of you left." Nexus chuckled, folding his wings together as he thought this was going to be easy. He had his eyes set towards the Angelus who stared towards him with an angry face. "Well, well, the Angelus. Your army looks a little thin. I wonder how many of them suffered when I was set free."
"Shut up!" the Angelus barked, letting the anger get the best of her.
"So many died that day. If only you found a way to kill me, they would have lived." Nexus said in a mocking tone, attempting to get her angry.
"Stop talking and face me!" the Angelus demanded, stepping forward with her wings spread out.
"Come on then!" Nexus taunted, waving his wings back to beckon for her to go ahead and attack. He kept a grin across his beak.
The Angelus did not hesitate to try and attack him. She powered her wings into beams and took flight directly towards him. She was forgetting that she would not be able to stop him, but with her anger getting the best of her, she did not seem to realize.
"No, wait!" Blu attempted to call her back, but he was too late.
The personal guards threw their weapons into their talons and flew up, following their queen before she got herself hurt. Their job was to protect her no matter what and that was what they were going to do, even if it meant costing them their lives.
Nexus had expected the Angelus to attack like this and already had a plan. He used his powers to create a dark essence fireball in his wing and waited patiently for her to be close enough in range. He beckoned for his generals to hold their attack.
The second the Angelus got to the roof, she powered up her wings and was about to fire light beams, but before she could even blink, Nexus threw the fireball towards her. She did not have the time to react quickly enough and came into contact with the dark essence fireball.
The Angelus screamed in agonizing pain, moving rapidly moving around as she attempted to put out the flames herself. She stumbled back and fell of the edge of the castle roof, heading down straight towards the ground. The height would without a doubt kill her.
The Angelus's personal guards were quick to act and caught her in mid-air, quickly heading back towards the ground. The four of them were quick to act and put out the flames before it was too late. After a few seconds, the flames were put out and everyone gathered around her.
"No!" Blu shouted, kneeling down beside the Angelus with Drako and her personal guards. He could not believe she could possibly be on the verge of a death by now. "Is she...?"
The Angelus groaned slowly as she was able to turn towards Blu. Different parts of her body were left in burnt marks and parts of her feathers were burnt off. She needed to get light essence as soon as possible before it was too late. "Blu...I...Was...Foolish to...To...Do...That...Please...Finish...This."
"I will." Blu assured her in a whisper and a tear dropping out from his eye. He held her wing softly and promised her he would end this. "I promise."
"Thank...You..." the Angelus spoke her last word before she passed out from her injuries.
Blu let go of her wing and stood up to full height. He was now in charge of the situation with the Angelus unable to lead her people and hoped he could lead her people to safety. He turned towards Drako and gave him his orders. "Drako, is there a way out of this shield?"
"I have one spell to take us back to the World of Light." Drako assured, taking out a scroll that would allow him to open a portal back home. "What are your wishes?"
"Drako, you and the guards take the Angelus back to the World of Light." Blu ordered, turning his attention towards the top of the castle where Nexus merely stood watching them with his wings folded together. "I'll handle this."
"You can't do this alone, Blu." Drako remained him, knowing he was going to need as much help as possible.
"I have to." Blu told him, but he had to admit he was a little afraid. He had to be strong after he promised the Angelus he would not let her down. "Just go. Take care of the queen."
Drako nodded in agreement and created a portal to the World of Light. He folded his wings together and waited for the personal guards to pick the Angelus up safely and carry her into the portal. He turned back towards Blu before he left, wishing him the best. "Good luck, Blu."
With that, Drako jumped into portal and it closed behind him, leaving Blu all alone to face Nexus. It was going to be a difficult task, but it had to be done.
Nexus chuckled and called out to Blu from above, mocking him slightly with his deep and extreme voice. "Well, well. That was easy."
Blu groaned in anger and clutched one of his wings into a fist. He turned back around to face Nexus and glared towards with a hateful look. He was going to end this once and for all, even if it meant costing him his own life.
What a cliffhanger. I was originally going to have Blu face against Nexus during this chapter, but I ran out of time and this was the best I could do for today. The Angelus is injured and Blu is left to face Nexus alone. Stay tuned for the next alternative chapter, ladies and gentlemen.
