Best of Rico

Hey, everyone, this is a bonus chapter about a complication of Ricardo the Black Hawk's best moments. Hope you all enjoy, and this is really long too.

Rafael suddenly pulled them both into a hug. "Thank you, amigos. Come to my tree in ten minutes! Woo-hoo." Rafael cried excitedly as he flew off.

"Okay, what have we got ourselves in to?" Blu asked growing uneasy.

"I regret it already," Jewel replied, as they both were thinking, Rico started laughing.

"hahahaha," Rico laughed, pointing his wing at them.

"I don't know why you're laughing Rico, you're coming too." Jewel smiled evilly.

"Hehe-what?" Rico panicked.

"Hey, guys, how's it goin'?" Blu inquired.

"Good." Nico grinned.

"How da wing, Jewel?" Pedro inquired.

"It's alright." Jewel answered, before noticing Rico's head all wet. "Rico, why you all wet on your head?"

"Tweety-bird over there threw water on me!" Rico replied, referring Tweety-Bird to Nico.

"Hahaheheh..Who ya call-in "Tweety?" Nico said, giving Rico a saucy look, with his wings crossed.

Somewhere across the far part of the Jungle, two Military Macaws named Louis and Ashley were both sitting next to each other, holding wings next to a shallow pond.

"This was a perfect day." Ashley sighed.

"Yeah, I love you Ashley." Louis simply replied.

As they were leaning in for a kiss, something suddenly jumped out of the water, startling them both. "AH!" They both screamed, falling over and grabbing onto each other's wings.

They both looked up and saw a really soaked Black Hawk emerge from the water.

"Ugh, I hate water." Rico said, before seeing the couple military macaws, scared and confused. He climbed out of the pond, shaking himself off to get the water out from his feathers. "Oh, hi..er...sorry to scare you...please, go back to what you were doing."

While they were celebrating, their cheering had woken up a blue and yellow macaw family in their tree nearby. The male (who looked like the father) poked his head out his tree hollow entrance/exit.

"Do you two mind? My family are trying to sleep!" the male yelled.

"Why don't you make us?" Rico asked, refusing what the macaw asked.

"Yeah, go back to yo misses, haha!" Rapper said, high winging Rico.

A female blue and yellow macaw, who they assumed was the mother, also poked her head out the hollow. "Didn't you here my husband?!" she bellowed.

Rico sighed and turned around. "Listen lady-AH!" they both screamed when the female macaw was about to chase them.

"Meu deus (my God), she's got the death look, run!" Rico yelled in a whisper, immediately taking flight away seconds later followed by Rapper.

"Woo-hoo, come on and take free ride, haha!" Rapper cheered, and sang.

"Hey Rapper, look it this!" Rico said, as he picked up a small but wide stick.

"What what?" Rapper wanted to know, still laughing slightly at all the fun he and his best friend were having fun.

"Check it out." Rico said, as he began spinning.

Rico:

I'm spinning around
Move outta my way

Rapper laughed, as he also grabbed a stick, and also joined Rico, singing, and spinning.

Both:

I know you're feeling me
'cause you like it like this

"Haha!" they both laughed.

"Oh, it's been to long since we did this." Rico said, remembering all the fun times he and Rapper had before they met Blu and Jewel.

"Yeah, I know." Rapper replied. "Wanna go lizard rodeo?"

"Sure. Better get some vines and find some lizards." Rico agreed.

"That's your plan?! Hiring a bunch of COCKATOOS!" Blu yelled.

"It could work." Rico shrugged, with at least twenty cockatoos behind him, with five military macaws.

"So why are we here?" a cockatoo asked.

"Okay, everyone, how many people here have wanted to take revenge on The Sentinel?" Rico asked, clasping his wings together.

All of the cockatoos raised their wings.

"Okay, well, he returned about half an hour ago and he birdnapped our friend who also happens to be his mate." Rico explained pointing out Blu with his wing. "We need to launch a rescue attempt, but we need all the help we can get, and you guys are some of Rio's best fighters." Rico continued.

"What do we get in return?" a cockatoo asked.

"Well, I didn't think of that." Rico replied rubbing the back of his neck.

"Then why should we help you?" Another cockatoo asked, crossing his wings.

"Now what?" Blu whispered.

"Don't worry, I have a plan." Rico whispered turning his voice back to normal. "Well, I guess people were right."

"About what?" One of the cockatoos asked.

"Well, people have always said that cockatoos were afraid to fight." Rico stated, though he was lying deep down. "I guess they were right, after all."

"Wha- We- We- We will show them and you! Where is that bird then?" a cockatoo asked.

Blu and Rico winked at each other.

Jewel groaned in pain as she looked outside, making sure she had a good grip on the wall and floor so she didn't fall out. "Help! Is there anyone out there!?" Jewel bellowed, but there was no answer from outside. She looked at a tree, and it then occurred to her who lived there. "Rico! Rico!"

"What? I'm trying to sleep!" the Hawk yelled from the inside of his tree.

"Rico, get over here, its time!" Jewel yelled, groaning a second time as she struggled to accept the pain.

"Time for what? Your breakfast?" Rico inquired in a sarcastic tone.

"No you idiot, it's time for the baby!" Jewel screamed.

Rico suddenly shot up when hearing the word "Baby" and quickly flew out of his tree, heading straight for the pregnant macaw's tree. "Hang on, Jewel! Rico's comi-". Rico didn't have the chance to rub his dark blue eyes when he woke up and ended up hitting his head off the hollow frame. He fell down towards the ground, luckily leaves broke his fall.

Jewel looked down at the slightly injured Hawk and was about to say something, but Rico quickly spoke first.

"I'm alright, I'm alright, beak hurts-a lot-but I'm alright!" Rico assured, getting back on his talons.

Blu and Jewel, walked in front, with one wing over each other.

Blu and Jewel:

We remember our first visit,

Rico flew in front of Blu and Jewel.

Rico:

Oh god, did I miss it?

Another black Hawk, came in front of Rico, with her wings crossed, which was indeed his wife, Christina.

Christina:

Why, Ricardo, I had no idea.

Rico:

Come on now, you were working here.

"Just give up, Daniel!" Rico ordered.

The Sentinel charged towards Rico at full speed and knocked him into the the room where the others where to others were. Rico landed down flat on his back, catching everyone's attention.

Nico and Pedro gasped and said simultaneously: "RICO?!"

"What's up?" Rico said, getting back onto his feet.

"I...I.." Blu tried to say.

Nico and Pedro flew up over up to their stage. Nico placed his wings around his beak and yelled: "Hey, everyone. Guys and Gals? Hello?"

No-one in the Club could here him; they were too busy enjoying themselves. Nico sighed and beckoned for Rico the come over.

The Black Hawk, who was talking to Leo and Arlene, flew up the the stage. "Yeah?"

"Do the honors, please?" Nico requested.

Rico sighed-"Sure."-and placed his wings around his beak and made a loud squawk.

"Ow!" everyone yelled in the Club, in usion, covering their ears.

"Thanks, Rico." Nico smiled.

"No prob'." Rico grinned, performing a black-flip off the stage.

Meanwhile, in another part of the Jungle, Rico and Arlene were laying down on the grass, near the pond area, also frustrated about the heat. Arlene sat up and looked over at Rico. "So...Hot..."

"...No...Kidding." Rico said, as he looked over at the pond which was very filthy for some unknown reason. "I need cold now..."

Rico got up onto his talons and walked over near the pond. Arlene quickly sat up and warned him back. "Rico, no, that water is dirty."

"I know..." Rico said, as he turned around and slowly made his way back to Arlene. Before Rico got back to her, he suddenly turned around and ran straight towards the pond. "I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! CANNONBAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!"

Arlene covered her eyes as the splash had almost caused the water to wet her. Arlene took her wings from her face to see Rico standing in the lake, with seaweed on top of his head. "How's the water, Rico?"

"Very cool, but smelly." Rico answered.

"Arlene, how you been?" Nico kindly inquired.

"I'm fine. How about you guys?" Arlene replied while smiling.

"We good." Pedro answered for both him and Pedro.

"You here alone?" Nico asked.

"No I'm here with Rico." Arlene replied while looking around for the Black Hawk.

"Rico? Where is he?" Nico asked while looking around.

The three friends turned their attention over to the bar, where they saw Rico had somehow already gotten drunk as he slowly danced and singing. "One, is the only problem...

"He's drunk...Again." Pedro frowned.

"Yep. He is." Arlene said.

Rico fell onto the ground back first and began snoring. He must have passed out. "Zzzzzz."

"He past out." Arlene sighed.

Nico frowned as he watched the sleeping Hawk. They all walked over to him; Nico jumped on top of Rico and said: "Nice."

"Well, I'm gonna get another drink." Rico said as he got back up onto his talons and began walking to the bar.

"No you're not!" Arlene doubted quickly jumping up and tackling him to the ground.

"Hey, get off me!" Rico yelled while trying to crawl away out of Arlene's grip. "I just want a drink!"

"No, because then you will past out again and then I need to carry you home." Arlene explained as she was trying to hold him down.

"Carry me?" Rico repeated with a slightly confused face. "I only want orange juice."

Arlene put on a confused face too and looked down at Rico. "Hmmmm, you sure?"

"Yes. just juice, no beer." Rico promised.

"Ok then, but in watching you," Arlene warned as she let go and stood back up onto her talons. "Just like a Hawk."

"I am a hawk. I know how my kind works." Rico countered while walking back over to the bar.

"I learned my ways." Arlene smirked.

Rico got to the bar and without thinking her quickly yelled: "DIMITRI, GIVE ME VODKA QUICK, BEFORE SHE COMES BACK!"

Dimitri didn't bother asking why but obeyed and quickly poured some vodka into a cup and quickly left it on the bar counter for Rico. Rico quickly grabbed the cup of vodka and gasped when he saw Arlene running straight for him.

"HEY!" Arlene yelled quickly trying to catch Rico was he ran around the club while trying to drink his vodka. "YOU LIAR!"

Rico still tried to drink his vodka while trying to dodge Arlene. "LEAVE ME ALONE, ARLENE!"

Meanwhile, in another part of the Jungle. Rico, Nico, and Pedro were hiding in a bush while looking at an open area that had fish in the middle of open area. By the looks of it, Rico was trying to catch that Bear again.

"So, what's the plan exactly?" Nico asked Rico.

"Let me keep this simple: Bear smells fish, Bear goes to fish, cage drops from branch, I catch Bear, we take it out of Rio." Rico explained, before he turned to the Samba Birds. "Got it?"

"We got it!" Nico and Pedro said simultaneously.

"Ok, now we wait-AH!" Rico silently yelled, quickly pushing Nico and Pedro deeper into the bush. "Here he comes."

Rico, Nico and Pedro watched as the Bear slowly made his way towards the bait. Rico smirked and silently mumbled to himself: "Come on, you stupid Bear! Get the bait!"

The Bear moved closer to the bait almost touching it and soon it would trigger the trap set by Rico. Just before the Bear took a bite of the bait, he stopped and looked in the direction where Rico, Nico and Pedro were hiding. The Bear slowly began to walk over to the bush. By the looks of it, he knew they were there.

"Oh, dear!" Rico thought. "How did he know we were here?"

Rico's question was answered by chewing sounds next to him. Rico looked to his right and saw both Nico and Pedro with grapes and grape juice on their beaks.

Rico frowned and said: "You idiots!"

Before Rico could say anything else, the bush they were laying in was kicked away. The three Birds gulped and looked in front, to see the Bear slowly growling at them.

They all gulped and immediately began flying away while screaming: "HEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!"

Vitor charged directly at Rico with his talons out and was ready to finish what he had started. Just as he was about to kill another Hawk, Rico maneuvered out of the way and caused Vitor to hit the wall with great force.

Rico chuckled and folded his wings.

"What's so funny?" Vitor asked, while rubbing his head due to hitting the wall that hard.

Rico didn't answer and continued to smirk, before he pointing his wingtip above Vitor.

Vitor looked up and immediately gulped when he saw a crate falling down towards him and great speed. "Uh-oh."

Rico covered his eyes as the crate hit Vitor directly on top of him which crushed the Toucan's body and left black feathers scattered across the place.

Rico looked at the dead Toucan under the heavy crate and looked at him with his eyes half-closed and a not forgiving look on his face. "Isso era para o meu irmão. (That was for my brother.)"

Before the birds could finish their song, I saw a mango hit a Scarlet Macaw on the head.

"Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!' mine and Blu's friend Rico yelled from his tree. For some reason, he hates singing early in the morning.

Blu let go of Jewel and him and Arlene helped Rico up and laid him down on the bed Jewel was laying on. Blu stood by Rico and quickly asked: "Rico, what's wrong?"

"Yeah, there's another thing I forgot to mention." Rico replied, slightly grunting. "If I use the power on someone else, the spell will kill me."

Blu could not believe what Rico had just said and began to panic. "No. Please, no. Rico, don't die."

Arlene quickly ran to the other side of the bed and looked down at her friend-like-brother. "Yeah, Rico. You can't, die."

"Sorry, Arlene...I had to give up my life...For Jewel..." Rico said, as slight tears were filling up in his ocean blue eyes.

Arlene began crying heavily and moved herself closer to him. "No...please."

"Blu, Arlene..." Rico said, as he knew he didn't have long left. Rico extended both his wings and held Arlene's left wing in his right wing and held Blu's right wing in his left wing. "...I love your guys...You're my family..."

Arlene began crying even more and held his wing a little harder. "You're part of our family, too."

Blu, who was now like Arlene, crying his eyes out, placed his other wing on Rico's left wing. "You're my Brother..."

"It'll be okay, guys...It'll be okay." Rico promised, managed to put on a smile, and with his eyes closing

Arlene whimpered and struggled to get her words out. "We'll see...you soon..."

"At least this time we get to say goodbye..." Blu said, as he dropped tears onto Rico's chest. "Goodbye, Ricardo."

"Goodbye...Blu...Arlene...Jewel...I love you all." with that last sentence, Rico closed his eyes and quietly passed away in peace.

Blu burst into tears as Jewel hugged Blu for comfort. Arlene covered her face in her wings as more tears were dropping out of her eyes.

Jewel beckoned for Arlene to come over to them. Jewel hugged both Blu and Arlene. Blu hugged both Arlene and Jewel, and Arlene hugged her friends, too. Nico joined in the hug and him too, was crying out tears.

The Angelus could only watch as the four friends hugged each other in their wings in sadness. Even thought the War may be over and everyone is free, Blu knew he had one last job to do.

And that was to give Rico a proper burial.

"Relax, you're safe now." the female blue macaw soothed, gently laying him back down in the nest. "How are you feeling?"

Though he was completely confused and puzzled, Blu decided to answer he question anyway. "I'm...I'm doing Ok, thanks."

"You were really brave standing up to the king like that." the female smiled, sitting down in the same nest with Blu.

"And stupid." Rico added, folding his wings together like arms.

"Ignore him." the female said, turning her attention back to Blu, still with a smile of course. "What is your name?"

"M-my name is Blu." Blu introduced, placing his free wing around his chest.

"Blu?" Rico quiered, turning his head to the side with a eyebrow arched. "You got a brother called Green?"

"Rico, that's enough." the male blue macaw told.

"Alright, David. Whatever you say." Rico said, waving both his wings in the air.

The Hawk continued to sing to himself, and had no idea Blu was making his way towards him.

Rico:

And it feels like I am just too close to love you,
There's nothing I can really say.
I can lie no more, I can hide no more,

While the Hawk continued to sing quietly to himself, Blu slowly walked up to the Hawk to investigate on what Rico was making.

Rico:

Got to be true to myself.
And it feels like I am just too close to love you,
So I'll be on my way.

Blu stood next to Rico, and as soon as they saw each other, Rico jumped and yelled, being startled by the blue macaw. They both yelled and panicked a little-Rico getting scared by Blu, and Blu getting scared from Rico jumping.

The Hawk took his earphones off, and looked at Blu with a not-very-happy-face. "You scared the life out of me! Why don't you just pull out my heart while you're at it?"

"I'm sorry; I didn't mean to scare you, Rico." Blu apologized, rubbing the back of his head with his wing a little guilty. "I just wanted to see what you were making."

Blu took a sip from his orange juice while talking to Sapphire. He looked into her drink, and he too noticed that Sapphire didn't drink beer or rum either. "Don't like drinking alcohol either, huh?"

"Yeah." Sapphire agreed, taking a sip from his drink too. "Someone here has to stay sober."

"Unlike Ricky the Hawk over there." Blu chuckled, reffering to Rico while he geustured a wing to the Hawk, who was already drunk, and was dancing around in circles while singing a song to himself.

Rico:

I've been a wild rover for many's a year,
And I've spent all my money on whiskey and beer

Joe, David, and the gangsters joined in on the song, as they all placed one wing around each other while dancing, and singing along with the Hawk's song.

But now I'm returning with gold in great store,
And I promise to play the wild rover no more

Blu and Sapphire chuckled at the birds, finding their song and drunken dancing to be hilarious. But to Blu, this was more confusing than funny. He remembered more than a year ago him and Rico were battling against the gangsters, and now Rico was dancing with them.

Sapphire, with Joe and the gangsters could see Rico in the air but not Blu. She quickly flew up to join the hawk in mid-air, and she looked all around for Blu, but he was not there. "Rico, where's Blu?"

"Oh, no, I dropped him on the way out of the prison because of the explosion!" Rico said, looking all around the bottom of the cliff where the Jungle was below, and not far from that was the ocean.

Sapphire gasped as she looked around the bottom of the Jungle, but Blu was nowhere to be found. "Oh, no! Blu! He must have jumped!"

"Oh, man!" Rico shouted, curling his talon like a fist and bagining it against his head. "He's got my tools! And my whiskey bottle on him!"

Sapphire, Joe, David, and Rico could see Blu, but now he couldn't when he went invisible. They watched in amazement as he made himself visible to his friends again.

"Ta-da!" Blu cheered, leaning himself back in the warm water to relax a little.

"Wow, that's incredible." Sapphire complimented on Blu's power, but was still in a little surprised that Blu had survived the tough journey. "It worked."

"Yeah, it did." Blu said, as he reached his wing out of the bathtub to get Rico's army drinking bottle. "Look, I even brought some with me."

"Wait, wait, wait, wait!" Rico interpreted, waving his wings in front of his face. "You emptied my drinking bottle?! MY BEAR! Ahhhh!"

David slapped Rico at the back of his head with his wing to stop him from yelling and panicking over a little bit of beet. "Oh, grow up. It's only beer."

"But it was my baby!" Rico shouted, falling down to the ground and crying quietly to himself about losing his beer. "My beer. My sweet, tasty beer. Wh-h-h-h-y-y-y?"

"A present. For you two." Raxos said, chuckling a little as he beckoned for one of the military macaws to hand him a piece of fruit (an apple) to ear.

Blu and Rico both looked at the crate all curious-like, and Blu was the one who decided to investigate what it was. The blue macaw slowly and carefully made his way towards the crate while Rico waited. Ideas of what could be in the crate raced around Blu's mind really quick, leaving him puzzled.

While Blu slowly made his way towards the crate, Rico got down on his knees (birds don't have knees of course) and pressed both his wings together while looking up at the sky, and whispering a prayer to himself. "Lord, please let it be a giant bottle of beer."

While Rico continued his prayers, Blu finally got over to the crate and without saying anything, he used his wings to pull the crate case off, and what he saw next made his eyes go as wide as they could, almost looking like they were going to pop.

Blu's beak then dropped when he studied what was inside the crate. "Oh, my gosh. Holy cheese 'n' sprinkles!"

Inside the crate was a military macaw, but he was not just any ordinary military macaw. He was huge! He looked about the same size as Mr. Kirilenko, except this macaw was a military macaw and he had both his wings.

Rico had walked over to Blu to investigate what was inside the crate, but he no longer needed to ask when he saw the huge military macaw. "Woah! Jeez! Wow. This guys been drinking his milk!"

Rico curled his wings like fists and attempted to throw multiple hits at Anton, but the huge macaw placed his gigantic wing on Rico's head and held him back, stopping the hawk from hitting him at all.

Anto laughed as he held Rico back from hitting him, finding it to be funny at his failed efforts. "Hahahah, funny hawk!"

"Right, now I'm angry!" Rico said, as he grabbed Anton's wing to push it off of him, and attempted to kick Anton with his free talon, but Anton was faster, and grabbed Rico's other talon with his wing before he could get kicked and lifted him up into the air. Rico gulped in panic, now knowing this would not end well. "Uh-oh."

Anton threw Rico down to the ground and attempted to crush him with his gigantic talon. He placed his giant talon on Rico and pressed down on hard.

Back with Rico, he and Anox were in a wing-to-wing battle, both hitting and block each other's attacks. The two then gripped each other in their wings and tried to push the other back, wrestling in the process too.

"I've just about had it with you!" Anox yelled, punching the hawk into his stomach and knocking him to the ground.

As Rico went down to the ground, he was currently wearing a shoulder strap bag on him and he felt something inside break. The hawk opened his bag and gasped when he lifted out his now broken vodka bottle. "My...My vodka...You broke me vodka."

"What's your point?" Anox inquired, placing both his wings together around his chest.

"My Vodka...AHHHHHHHH!" Rico screamed at the top of his lungs and dived onto Anox, knocking him onto his back and without hesitation, Rico stroke multiple hits at the great green macaw, finally losing it after his sweet vodka had broke and it was now spilt all out of the bottle. He continued to scream in rage while still striking attacks across Anox's face. "You broke my vodka! How dare you! AHHH!"

Blu covered up his ears with both of his wings, trying to block out the sound from the military macaws scream. He groaned in agony but soon noticed the sounds of his screams had stopped completely. Blu opened his eyes and looked up to see the military macaws was knocked down, and standing above him was a familiar friend. "Rico?"

"No, it's Sam Adams." Rico sarcastically replied, while throwing down the baseball bat he was carrying onto the ground. "Of course it's me."

"Ohh, I've just about had it with you guys and your kung fu." Rico said, before running over to the martial-artist with his wing curled like a fist before striking a direct hit straight into his face, knocking him down to the ground. "Now, that's my kung fu. The drunken style!"

"Rico, is that even a real move?" Blu inquired, while he hit the military macaw wearing body armor until he had enough and fell down directly to the ground.

"Nope." Rico answered, stretching his wings out to prepare for the next wave of Raxos men.

While Blu was trying to calm down after killing Raxos, Rico had emerged back onto the rooftop, revealing himself to be alive. He quickly flew over to Blu and helped him onto his talons. "Blu...You killed him...Wow.."

"Rico...I...I didn't want to kill him.." Blu said, as his eyes filled up with tears. "I didn't mean..."

"It's alright. It's alright..." Rico assured, calmy hugging Blu to calm him down from his traumatic. "Now, come on. We have to go."

Blu nodded in agreement as he looked up to see the other military macaws were still there. "Uhh, Rico?"

"Yeah?" Rico replied, picking up his own and Blu's bag, and drinking out of another vodka bottle he had brought with him before he noticed the other military macaws too. "Uh-oh."

The military macaws suddenly charged directly towards them. Blu panicked and Rico spat out the vodka out from his beak. To escape, Blu placed one wing around Rico and used his dash ability to get them in the air quicker before he made them both invisible to stay out of sight and make their way back to the rebel base.

"Sapphire wants us to find some food and possibly some medical supplies." David answered to him, before he just remembered about what Rico had told him about what Blu did recently, and decided to ask something. "How's Blu doing, Rico?"

"He's doing okay." Rico answered, remembering how traumatized Blu was after he had beaten General Raxos too death. "It's good we have him back, but he's still kinda shocked. He just stays in his room at this moment."

"Poor guy." David said, looking away sadly, feeling so sorry for Blu that he has to put up with his for a a short while. "How do you think he will recover?"

"Do what I do." Rico answered, lifting up his new army drinking bottle (since Blu took his old one) and taking a sip out from it. "Drink until I don't even know my own name."

David sighed in response while rolling his eyeballs around, not believing Rico thought the answer to every problem was alcohol. "Is alcohol the answer to all of your problems, Rico?"

"Aaaaaaayep." Rico replied, taking yet another sip out of his drinking bottle.

"Alright!" Blu whooped, accepting the marmosets paw shake with his talon before they began shaking in agreement. Blu ended the talon shake not too long after and looked over at Sapphire, who had been waiting the entire time. "Sapphire! We did it!"

"Great job, Blu!" Sapphire congratulated, before she looked to her left and noticed there was no sign of Rico anywhere. She arched a curious eyebrow while scratching his chin with a talon toe. "Hey, where did Rico go?"

Came here to get ya, but I can't wait
To grab me a partner and cut a rug up tonight

Blu, Sapphire, and Mauro turned their attention to the sound of the music where they saw the stereo had been turned back on, and now the marmosets were all dancing together with Rico leading them in the middle.

I found a place
Where we can boogie, boogie tonight

"Haha. This is fun!" Rico cheered out loudly, before performing different funkey moves with the marmosets, dancing around while singing along to the music. "#I found a place where we can boogie!#"

I found a place
Where we can boogie, boogie

Mauro looked at the hawk all weird-like with an eyebrow raised, wondering why on Earth did he just decide to dance. He looked back towards the blue macaw and decided to ask. "What's wrong with him?"

"We have no idea, Mauro." Blu replied, folding his wings together while watching Rico and all of the marmosets dance together.

When everyone had arrived to the meeting room, Blu (along with Sapphire and Rico standing next to him) was standing in front of the entire room, and he kindly asked for silence for everyone so he could continue, but no one seemed to listen. "Umm...Everyone...Can you...? Everyone...Please listen...Everyone..."

Sapphire decided to join in and tried to keep the crowd for talking so Blu could continue. "Everyone...Would you mind...Keeping...It...Down...Please...?"

"Hey, shut up!" Rico yelled, causing everyone to fall in complete silence and turn their attention to the front, doing Blu's job for him. He drank out of a bottle of vodka before he gave Blu to signal to continue. "Okay, Blu. I got their attention."

"Uh, thanks Rico." Blu awkwardly thanked, before clearing his throat, preparing to continue the rest of his announcement.

Somewhere amongst the battlefield, Ricardo the black hawk was rapidly beating up a military macaw, who had been knocked to the ground. He laughed when he saw the military macaw was knocked out completely. "Ha-ha! Take that, you-oh man!"

Rico was soon cut off when he felt something tight grab onto him and hold him up in the air. He struggled to get free while he saw his attacker; which was no other than Anton; Raxos' little nephew, who was back for more. "Well, well, look who it is. Back for more."

Rico bit Anton's giant toe, causing him to let go of his grip. The hawk growled as he prepared to charge towards the giant macaw and take him down for good this time. "I've just about had enough of you! A-a-a-a-h-h-h!"

Rico leaped into the air with his talon held out and struck Anton straight in the fact with a fly kick, knocking him out completely as he began to lose balance.

Anton began falling down towards two military macaws, who both gulped when they saw Anton coming straight at them, and they knew this was not going to end well. "Uh-oh!"

"Yes." older Blu answered, crossing his wings together. "Another male named Lev and another female named Lola got together, and they both had a child eventually. That's who are Jessica is with now."

"Awww, how sweet." Blu admitted smiling, before he turned his attention back over to Rico, who seemed quiet the entire time. "What about you, Rico? Are the same as you were here?"

"Depends on what you mean?" Rico inquired.

"Funny, sarcastic, drunken, and strong?" Blu asked, pointing to each other his wingtips every time he made a comment about the hawk.

"Sounds about right." Rico smirked, until his expression soon changed into a curious one when he wondered who his other self was here.

Multiple light macaws attempted to stop Nexus in his tracks by using their weapons to injury him, but most of them easily got knocked away with Nexus incredible strength, and those who did manage to stab him was a waste of time, and Nexus easily healed those injuries he taken.

Out of nowhere, Rico came jumping down towards Nexus with his right wing curled like a fist. He struck the evil macaw directly in his face, but Nexus did not even flinch, and Rico even ended up hurting himself.

"Ow!" Rico grunted, waving his right wing around in the air, trying to ease the pain. "Someone's been eating their vegetables."

Nexus merely groaned as he grabbed the hawk's throat and held him into the air, chuckling slightly. "Didn't I already kill you?"

"That must have been the other Rico." Rico answered, keeping calm despite the current situation.

"You think you're funny, don't you?"

"I don't think, I know."

"Rico!" Jewel thought to herself, recognizing that voice anywhere. She followed the sounds of the voices where she approached a nearby cell that she could tell was already open.

Being as quiet as she could, Jewel looked through the small opening of the door where she could see Rico inside the cell, sitting in a wooden chair with rope tied around his body and talons while a guard stood in there with him, armed with a taser stick.

Jewel knew had to help Rico and could not leave him like this, but how? She was in no condition for combat at the moment, and Rico was tied up to help too. She would have to do this quietly.

Being as quiet as a mouse, Jewel opened the iron door enough for Rico to see her. The hawk looked towards her direction for a second where he knew she was going to help him. For now, Rico kept the guard busy from looking in her direction. "So, are you even planning on using that taser? Are do you just like stroking it all day?"

"Don't get smart with me, hawk!" the dark macaw warned, lifting his talon up for a moment where he gripped Rico's throat while using his wing to hold the taser only inches from his face.

"Oh, I'm so scared." Rico sarcastically replied. "Why don't you be a man and let me out of these ropes?"

While Rico kept the dark macaw from turning around, Jewel placed her wings to the wheelchair wheels where she slowly moved inside the cell, being as quiet as she could, knowing if she made one bit of noise, then it was over.

"You must think I'm that stupid, don't you?" the dark macaw inquired, whacking the taser against the chair for a moment to spark up. "Now, wanna see how shocking this is going to get?"

"You're very funny." Rico frowned, moving his eyeball for a moment where he could see Jewel was only a couple of feet away from the dark macaw, and she gave him a signal by nodding her head. "In fact, come closer. I wanna whisper you something."

The dark macaw leaned down towards the hawk's beak, not seeming to be afraid of him since he was pretty much unable to move at this point. He got down where he smirked, expecting Rico to say something stupid that would give him the opportunity to use his taser. "Ye-e-e-e-e-s?"

"Don't mess with a hawk!" Rico yelling, biting the dark macaw's wing that caused him to drop the taser that landed down next to Jewel, but the dark macaw seemed to still be unaware of her presence.

"OW!" the dark macaw screamed, jumping away from the hawk while he held his left wing to his right shoulder where he had been bitten. "I'll kill you for that!"

Now was Jewel's chance to attack. She leaned her right wing down as much as she should where she tried to grab the taser to help Rico, but the strap tied around her waist made this difficult. But after a few struggling seconds, Jewel finally managed to reach the taser, preparing to use it to end this once and for all.

The dark macaw recovered eventually where he pulled out a small knife out from his belt and held it against Rico's throat, threatening to kill him. "You little! That hurt!"

"Must have slipped." Rico grinned, appearing to feel no fear against the macaw as she shrugged his shoulders slightly. "Whoops."

"Glad you got a sense of humor in you." the dark macaw smirked, preparing to cut Rico's throat to make him pay for the trouble and pain he just caused him. "Ya know, Lord Nexus said he only wants the blue macaws kept alive, but he didn't say anything about hurting you. Now I'm going to take my time with-"

The dark macaw was cut off as high voltage shot through his body, causing him to vibrate rapidly as he fell towards the ground, shaking from the effects of the voltage. He eventually passed out from the sudden feeling of thousands of volts being shot through his body.

Rico smirked as tapped the unconscious dark macaw with his tied-together talons to make sure he really was out. "Not so tough now, are ya?"

The feathered friends ran towards the prison entrance, finally thinking this was over until they found their way had been blocked off by a bunch of dark macaws, who were unarmed, but they outnumbered them by two to one.

"Oh, give me a break!" Blu complained, halting in his steps as he tried to figure what to do next.

Everyone had halted to a stop. All except for Rico that it, who charged towards the entrance, holding a wooden staff as a weapon. "I'm not going to stop just because of you!"

Everyone else could only watch as Rico rammed into the entire group or dark macaws blocking their way, knowing almost every last one of them to the ground like bowling pins.

The footsteps were now only a few feet away. In a split-second, Blu jumped out on their attack where he tackled them down and placed his left wing against their neck while holding a taser to his head.

He was about to attack, but instead, he frowned as he got back up onto his talons while helping the figure up. "Rico. You scared us."

"Sorry." he shrugged, brushing back his head feathers as he joined the others in the small open area they were resting in.

"How did you escape?" Jewel inquired, thinking that no-one (even someone as tough as Rico) could have made it out of there in one piece. "When we saw you, you were surrounded by a lot of them."

"What can I say?" Rico replied, shrugging his shoulders yet again. "I haven't had a drink in a while. I was angry."

"Right." Blu skeptically said, turning himself around where he began to make his way towards the direction they were going. "Well, come on, everyone. The base is not that far now."

As he waited, Rico sighed heavily as he placed his wings to his face. He looked towards Blu, who kept his eyes locked on the door. "Hey, Blu, what's the date today?"

"I think it's the seventeenth of February." Blu answered, but was wondering why that mattered.

"Seventeenth?! NOOO!" Rico screamed, falling to the ground as he placed his wings to his head. "No! I am missing St Patrick's Day! All that sweet, tasty beer! Wh-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-y!?" he cried slightly as he slammed his wings to the ground, thinking it was unfair that he spent his favorite day of the year in a World that he did not belong in. "It's not fair!"

The captain of the light macaws was stood in the middle of the room, discussing with the others their next plan of action. "Now, everyone, I was discussing with the medic officer last night, and we think we have a solution to make a plan."

"And that would be?" Rico inquired, taking a sip out from a whiskey bottle while the captain briefed them.

"Well, it means-wait a minute, where did you get that?" the captain inquired, crossing his wings together with an eyebrow rose.

"Found it." Rico simply answered, shrugging his shoulders slightly.

"Told you I have been here before." Blu countered, taking his backpack off while placing it in front of him as he opened up the zip before digging his wing inside. "Now, let's see here."

"You got any whiskey in there?" Rico asked, clearing his throat for a moment, feeling like he was on the verge of passing out without a drink.

"Is all you think about is beer?" Blu inquired, frowning slightly as he pulled out a small map out from his backpack.

No-one had no idea how Blu managed to get a map of the castle. Surely, he did not hang around here to draw one up, but nevertheless, the went along with it and asked no questions to how he required it.

"Not all the time." he answered, shrugging his shoulders slightly while he set his combat staff down for a moment.

Blu ignored him as he pulled out the map and unfolded it where he tried to figure out where they were exactly. He hummed quietly to himself while everyone else waited. "Hmm, okay, we got little while yet before we can find our friends."

"Where do you think they are keeping the Angelus?" the captain inquired, obviously wanting to find his queen as soon as possible. "We need to find her."

"I'm getting there." Blu assured him, placing his wingtip to the map as he studied their next plan of action. He caught something in the corner of his eye that caused him to sign. "Look in the backpack all you want, Rico, there's no beer in there."

Aware that he was being watched, Rico quickly took his wings out from Blu's backpack and placed them back to his sides. He quietly slipped away, walking causally while whistling to himself.

Rico lifted his right talon up as he opened the door where trouble had emerged from the other side. Standing in front of him was a dark macaw, who looked shock as he looked like he was about to scream out for help, and if he did, than their rescue mission was over.

Without thinking and without hesitation, Rico curled his wing like a fist and struck the dark macaw directly in his face, knocking him out instantly. He watched as the dark macaw plummeted to the ground, completely out flat.

The others peaked over his shoulder as they were shocked and surprised that they just avoided certain danger.

"Nice." Nico complemented, closing his eyes half-way as he folded his wings together.

"You took that guy down with one hit?" the captain said, shocked that anyone could do that. After all, he has been in the Angelus' army for more than he can remember, and even he couldn't do that. "Wow, I'm impressed."

"And what is why you do not mess with a hawk." Rico replied, dragging the body away just in case any nearby guards would arrive and find him.

As she went to enter the same room as them, she gasped as some sort of purple dark essence glass had appeared in between, separating herself from the others. She banged against the glass to get their attention while yelling in a panic. "Blu! Blu, help!"

Blu did not take a second to respond, and quickly ran back towards her where he saw they were cut off by the dark essence glass. He banged against the glass, desperate to break it. "Jewel! Hang on, I'll break this thing down!"

"Just tip some whiskey on it and set it on fire." Rico suggested, not bothering to make eye-contact as he walked towards the door, tempted to see what was on the other side.

"Rico, I am not in the mood for jokes!" Blu shouted, before shifting his attention to his wife who looked somewhat fearful, especially now since she had no-one to protect her if she was to run into any trouble.

"So much for sneaking in." Rico said, cracking his wings and neck as he prepared to take them on. "Blu, Nico, captain, you guys take the small ones. The big guys mine. AHHH!"

Blu and the others watched in shock as Rico curled his wings like fists and charged towards the enforcer macaw, performing a rapid series of quick, focused attacks.

He continued in doing so for a few seconds but found it did not look like it effected the enforcer much. He gulped as the enforcer picked up in wings, crushing him tightly.

"What was I thinking?" Rico admitted, struggle to get free as he could feel the enforcer's grip tighten. He struck the enforcer in his eyes, causing him to drop him where he put up his defensive position. "Alright, big boy. I haven't had a beer today, so let's dance."

"Blu." she smiled, feeling extremely tired from all that crawling. She sat up as Blu knelt down and hugged her tightly.

"Jewel, you're okay." Blu happily said, closing his eyes as he smiled with his chin rested against Jewel's shoulder.

"Take's more than a spooky castle to scare me, Blu." Jewel said smiling, but was obviously trying to make light of the situation they were in. But nevertheless, she returned the hug, happy to be in the protective form of her husband.

Everybody loves somebody sometime
Everybody falls in love somehow
Something in your kiss just told me
That sometime is now

Everybody finds somebody someplace
There's no telling where love may appear
Something in my heart keeps saying
My someplace is here

Blu and Jewel both opened their eyes as they turned back towards Rico, who was singing for them. The both frowned as the hawk merely shrugged. "What? Happy moment, right?"

"Can you get it for me?" Blu requested, turning his back towards the macaw captain. "My wings are kind of full here."

The captain opened up his backpack where he leaned his wing inside and pulled out a small flash bang. He quickly set it to the dark essence glass and set it on a timer, knowing they were going to need to get back. "Alright, everyone get back."

"What are you going to do, blind it open?" Rico sarcastically inquired, closing the door behind him.

Blu continued to watch the others as he smiled and folded his wings together around his chest. His smile soon dropped as he discovered Rico was on fire! "Rico!"

"I'm on fire, I'm on fire!" Rico panicked, attempting to put it out by slapping himself with his wings. His entire body was on fire, his feathers were now glowing in flames, and his eyes had turned white. But he discovered he was not feeling any pain. "Wait a minute? I'm not burning."

"You seem to have the powers of fire." the Angelus explained, examining the hawk as he looked towards his wings that were now setting with a flame color. "You must be careful though, Rico. You have a power gift: the penance stare."

"Which is?" Rico inquired, not having a clue what she was talking about.

"You can look people in their eyes and burn their souls, making them feel every pain they ever experienced and every pain they ever caused to others." the Angelus explained, crossing her wings together as she looked off towards the moon. "You must be careful. You have a powerful gift, use it wisely."

"Sure will." Rico assured, but that turned out to be a lie as he fired a bit of flame towards Pedro, knowing it would not hurt him because of his power.

"Hey, what if I wasn't in metal form, then?!" Pedro inquired, tapping his talon as he placed both of his wings to the side of his belly.

"Then I wouldn't have done it." Rico replied, smirking as he learned to turn his power off that turned him back into his normal form. "This is pretty awesome though."

As soon as he dropped him, Nexus looked down towards his greatest enemy, who had now passed out, obviously from the shock and pain. "You no longer possess any of your powers. The dark essence will pass, but that will not stop me from having the pleasure of killing you myself."

Not too far from where Nexus was standing, Rico the black hawk, who had finally woken up after being knocked unconscious by Nexus. He stood back up onto his talons, holding a wing to his chest where he felt one of his ribs had been broken too.

Rico gasped silently as he noticed Nexus now looked stronger than ever. And to make it noticeable that he now possessed the million souls, the scroll had been dropped to the ground, looking like a normal piece of paper.

Rico watched as Nexus picked up Blu with his talon and slowly choked him, wanting to enjoy every moment of his victory. He was about to save his friend with his powers before he had just realized something...Something very important.

Rico disappeared the flames in his wings as he began to slowly approach Nexus, showing almost no fear at all. He still had one more trick up his sleeve. "It feels good, doesn't it, Nexus? Having all that power inside of you...All that pain...And even all those souls."

"What's your point?" Nexus inquired, whacking Rico down onto the ground when he got close, and it was lucky for him he did no strike him too hard, because Nexus was now twice as strong as he was moments ago. "I have powers you could not imagine. I am truly immortal, and as soon as I deal with your friend here, you are next."

"Look me in the eye when you say that." Rico requested, holding his chest as he used his free wing to push him himself up.

Nexus smirked in response as he dropped Blu to the ground and proceeded to deal with the hawk first. He placed his wing onto Rico's should and forced him to stand. "If you insist."

The second he was standing, Rico suddenly turned his entire body into his fire, leaving his fears glowing in an orange color, and turning his eyes white in the process. He placed his wings onto Nexus's shoulder's and looked him directly in his fearsome red eyes, preparing to end this once and for all. "Look into my eyes...Feel every pain you have ever experienced, and everyone you ever hurt."

Nexus chuckled for a moment, thinking his efforts were entertaining to him. He was about to strike his wing against him, but for some reason, he would not look away from his eyes, no matter how much he tried to look away.

Nexus began to scream in agonizing pain as he continued to look into his eyes, and he could feel the unbearable pain of the million souls shooting through his entire body. He could not escape, despite his many talents. He could not attack him, he could not teleport away, and he could not call on the Darkness for assistance.

After a moment of unbearable suffering had come to an end, Rico transformed back into his normal mode but he discovered Nexus did not burn into ashes. Instead, he looked just like an ordinary macaw now.

"Now, if the Rico that lived here could not do that, than that makes me better." Rico said, dropping the lifeless corpse to the ground.
