Day Forty-Four: Time to Be Your 21 by Alexz Johnson

"Are you sure you have to go?"

He stared at her. She looked so sad and worried as she watched him get up to leave their apartment.

"Spencer, are you okay?"

She looked away from him. "I don't…I don't know. I'm just scared that once you walk out the door…with Andrew…"

He realized just how broken her ex had left her. He quickly went back to comfort her. She was trying hard to hold back tears, but it was becoming an increasingly difficult feat.

"I'm sorry. You've never lied to me and I know you wouldn't do that, but…I'm always just scared that when you walk out the door, the same thing will happen," she confessed, still not looking him in the eye.

He pushed a strand of hair away from her face. "Spencer, it's not your fault. What he did to you was horrible and I can't bear to see you suffer."

She rested her head on his shoulder. "I'm just tired of making a mess out of things. I'm so tired of seeing you try so hard and I just…ruin it."

She whimpered, but he just held her closer. "Spencer, I just want you—no, need you—to know that you're the only girl I have eyes for."

She sniffled, unresponsive.

He finally came up with an idea. "I'm not leaving."

She looked at him, utterly confused. "What? Toby—"

"Spencer, I'm not leaving you like this. We can just spend the rest of the day here, together. It's not that important to me. You mean more to me."

Her heart melted a little bit. She may not have believed in love before, but he had changed her.

An hour later, they were still lying together on the couch.

She realized with absolute certainty that even though they were both still fairly young, they were true love. She was sure of this. He made her feel a way she never felt before, even with Andrew. She only prayed that this time, it would last.

"I love being here with you," she confessed as she grabbed his hand.

"I'm glad I stayed with you," he replied. "And I would never cheat on you, Spencer. You have to know that."

After a moment of hesitation, she nodded. "I know you wouldn't. You're amazing and faithful…but sometimes, I wonder if you're too good to be true," she confessed with a small smile.

"I'm not that great," he answered with a small blush.

She didn't bother protesting, knowing they'd go on for hours and hours debating who was luckier to have who. "I just can't believe how lucky we are to have found each other. Even if I was engaged and under the guise that Emily was your girlfriend," she said with a small smile.

"Sometimes, I can't believe you fell for that, but I guess you didn't know she was a lesbian," he replied with a laugh.

She kissed him on the lips and felt the beautiful kind of butterflies in her stomach.

MizzIsTheFizz:I really don't like either Aria or Ezra, but I completely agree with you on the characterization. And even if they do know, they should at least tell the actors what's going on. Otherwise, it just comes off as bad acting (which is completely false; I think all of the actors are pretty good [not all of them are incredible, but at least good]). I don't think I'm surprised by anything on this show. Sorry Marlene. I'm just counting down the days until more Spoby (and I believe we're at 89 days left). #Obsessed

poisonnwine:Can I just say I think I died a little when I saw you reviewed? I think it was mostly of shock. And also because you get tons and tons of reviews/follows/favorites and you seem to be in that elite little group of Spoby writers who everyone in our fandom adores. I'll admit that I've only read Newborn In A Black Hoodie (and I skimmed through your profile page...I think a Spoby one-shot off of LDR's Yayo is probably one of the most majestic things that could possibly ever happen). To answer your question, you can probably expect like everything I can possibly think of in this collection since I need to come up with a ton of different ideas to keep everyone from getting bored. And I also love angst, so there's that :) You can pretend pretty much anything you want. If I Knew doesn't come until a little later, but that's probably my favourite BM song (that I've listened to, and I've only really listened to maybe seven). Yeah, I'd say I don't mind the reviews :) Oh, and are you Cat who reviewed before as a guest, or is that another Cat? I'm just curious and it's been bothering me all day :)

eveningshades1107: I think I might do a few more canon (who knows...maybe even dip back into the FMN universe? That was semi-canon, but it really didn't have to be...not that anyone probably even knows that story...). So this one was canon to the Red universe. Maybe I'll make a few more canon to that AU...or maybe the FMN universe. Tean would be cool (but then Spencer might get jealous). I honestly did not even get why Veronica flipped out so much in the last episode. It wasn't like he was shirtless or snuggling under the covers with her or anything like that. Like, he fell asleep on top of her (and not even on top of her. Just on her leg, I swear). I have no idea how that=sex. It just boggles my mind. I don't understand. I LOVED MY CAST. AND EVERYONE ELSE RUINED IT. Like why, why, why, why, why would you put Neeson and Clooney and Hathaway in a cast with a bunch of thirty-somethings. And I'm sorry, Anne Hathaway is not that dark. I don't think she even has the look, either. Troian Bellisario? She could totally be Lady Macbeth. I at least chose Leo as Malcolm. I figured that the hero should be someone really pretty to look at. And I think it's basically established that Leo can pull off anything. Oh, and I guess I'll have to deal. But I can tell you when Chloe does awesome right? Because she's seriously my fave and so adorable and cute and I just want her to be awesome (and if I recall correctly, she's your favourite, too). And one more DM related note: can we just talk about how epically sassy Kendall is this season? She's just the sass-master. I think she's just the best to stand up to Abby. I don't care what anyone says; Abby is a downright BULLY and does not deserve to have such amazing little girls on her team. She may make them stars, but at what price? End rant.

So hooray for Red Spoby.

I stared a Lana Del Rey blog, if anyone's interested. It's yourlittlescarlet-starlet you know the drill.

Next one-shot will be Sparks Fly by Taylor Swift. I don't really know how to feel about this one. I just don't like writing for Taylor Swift that much anymore (and I know that sounds especially stupid considering three of my fanfictions are based on her songs).

I'm tired. But I'm excited! I had my first choir rehearsal today since December and the girls are singing the Bellas' Finals song (from Pitch Perfect) and Skyfall by Adele. And then the girls' signature song, Ain't No Mountain High Enough. And probably one more, but IDK what it'll be. I'm going to ask Weiss if we can do something by LDR or Lea Michele next year. That would be epic.
