Author's Note: Okay, guys, so I really love this one. It's super-long, but that's what you guys seemed to have wanted. It was like six pages long. And you know, passive-aggressive Spoby is the best.

Oops! I ruined everything!

But I still love it :)

Day Forty-Seven: My Same by Adele

She felt a pen hit her in the face. She glared over at the person sitting across from her. Of course, there was Toby Cavanaugh, looking smug as ever before he returned to his work.

"I told you to leave me alone like ten times already."

He didn't answer, but just smiled as he went back to his own work.

Five minutes later, he did the exact same thing. She finally had it. She ripped his notebook away from him, tore out the page he was working on, and threw it far across the room—all without being caught by the prep teacher.

However, their blonde friend and their other friend with the very curly hair had noticed.

"Hey! Spence! What are you doing to poor Toby?" Hanna said as she noticed.

Spencer sat with her mouth wide open. Hanna, who was sitting right beside Toby, didn't notice his smug, teasing expression. "That was our Calc homework, Spence. He kind of needs it to pass," Hanna reprimanded.

"Hanna—"

"And here I thought you were the one being victimized." Hanna tut-tutted before going to retrieve Toby's homework.

Spencer was shocked for a moment before turning to their other friend. "Holden, you saw that, right? It was his fault!"

Holden raised his eyebrow in shock. Toby shook his head. "You just took his homework and threw it across the room, Spence. And you know how Mrs. Albert gets about her homework; she'll probably take five points off."

"So if I fail, it's your fault."

Spencer was about to lunge across the table, but Hanna walked back.

"Okay, don't get that way, Spencer. I know that murderous look in your eyes; don't do it. Murdering him would be like murdering a puppy," Hanna added before handing him back his homework.

"Thanks, Han," he said as he gave a pointed look to Spencer.

"Besides, don't you think it's a little selfish to just take his homework—which is very important—and just throw it across the room? And all just because you're mad at him? What if one of those jocks took it and started playing baseball or whatever with it?"

"I'm pretty sure that wouldn't happen."

"Whatever, Spence. Stop being so stubborn!"

Spencer just rolled her eyes and went back to her homework. Hanna began chatting Holden's ear off as Toby stuck his tongue out at Spencer. She gave him a deathly glare.

"Spencer!"

"Why would you do that to me anyway?" Spencer questioned later that day. She was sitting with Toby, Emily, and Caleb as they waited for Aria, Jason, Hanna, and Holden.

"Because I knew you'd flip out. You're funny when you're angry."

She rolled her eyes. "You're insufferable."

"Hey, Spencer, it's impolite to demean people with words they won't understand," Emily chastised lightly, but was really picking fun at Toby. She smiled at him. "Come on, Tobes. It's funny."

"Mine was funnier. And you should've seen how Hanna and Holden both jumped to my defense. Spencer was turning red. She was getting so mad at me. But I know she didn't care that much. Maybe she even thought it was funny."

Spencer sighed. "First off, she has a name and she is sitting right here. She would prefer not to be addressed in the third person."

"But she is doing the same thing herself."

Spencer rolled her eyes and ignored him. "And second, I wasn't angry. I was just annoyed. Mostly with you. Holden and Hanna chastising me doesn't matter. You and I both know who was right."

He just smiled. "Please, Spencer. I've known you my whole life. I know when you're lying and when you're not," he told her.

Spencer crossed her arms. "I've only known you since the third grade, actually, when you moved into the house next to Emily's."

"I'd say I've known you a lot longer," he answered without hesitation.

"I've known you nine years. No more, no less," she replied firmly.

He shrugged. "Whatever you say, Spencer."

Spencer rolled her eyes as Hanna and Jason walked over to their table.

Spencer looked over her shoulder as she listened to some jocks talk to Toby about his latest…sexual escapades.

She tried her hardest not to blush as they talked about. She had never…done anything like that and didn't think any boys would ever really want her…in that way.

Aria quickly came back to her friend. She laughed when she saw Spencer's face. "What's up with you?"

Spencer shook her head. "Nothing. Just…nothing."

Aria looked over her shoulder and saw Toby laughing with some other people. Then she looked back at Spencer's blush.

"You two make an unlikely couple," Aria commented.

Spencer felt herself turning redder by the second. "What?"

"But…I think you'd be cute," Aria continued.

"Who are you talking about?" Spencer inquired, trying to blanch so her bright red cheeks weren't so obvious.

She smiled at Spencer. "Don't play that game, Spence," she warned. "You know I'm talking about Toby."

Spencer looked at Aria as though she just sprouted three heads. "You must be high, Aria. Toby, of all people?" she asked.

The smaller brunette nodded.

"Spence, are you coming?"

Hanna and Caleb looked at her expectantly. Aria, Jason, Emily, and Holden all had a test to take for AP Chemistry, so they were at school. But Hanna, Caleb, and Toby wanted to ditch. Hanna and Caleb insisted that Spencer come with them.

"Come on, Spencer. Don't be a stick in the mud," Hanna pressured.

Spencer sighed as she stared into the truck. Caleb had his arm around Hanna in the back seat. Toby was driving. Unless she wanted to third wheel with Hanna and Caleb in the back…

"Fine," Spencer decided with an exasperated sigh. "But if we get caught, I'm blaming Cavanaugh."

She slid in the front seat and noticed how close he was to her. "Do you mind? Personal space," she commented.

He rolled his eyes and sat back. "Whatever you say, Queen Hastings."

She just rolled her eyes.

She stood, pacing back and forth, as they both waited for Hanna and Caleb to come back. Toby was sitting on the pavement.

"You like sitting on the floor?" she asked as she leaned against the wall of the building.

He looked over his shoulder at her. "You like sitting on chairs?" he answered.

She glared. "How do you know like everything about me?" she asked, realizing how she preferred sitting on chairs, as he had pointed out.

"Because you're like a riddle wrapped in an enigma inside a puzzle. That makes me want to solve you so I can say I figured out the most complicated one in the world."

She tried to decipher that. "So I'm just another puzzle to you?" she inquired, challenged.

"No. You're more of a mystery I really want to solve. And then I'd spend the rest of time trying to understand it once I've figured it all out," he answered.

She thought about that. Maybe they weren't so different after all.

Before she could say anything more, Hanna and Caleb came out. "The girl said the next train leaves in fifteen minutes to get to New York. She said the last train back is at eight," Hanna said as she showed them the tickets in her hand.

Toby stood up. Spencer nodded. "So are we going inside?"

Hanna nodded. "I just wanted some fresh air before we go in," she answered as Caleb put his arm around her.

Spencer nodded. She and Toby made their way inside the train station.

"They look so much like a couple," Hanna commented as Toby opened the door for Spencer and they walked inside.

"The weirdest couple I've ever seen," Caleb retorted.

"I think they'd be cute, Caleb. Have you seen the way they look at each other?"

"I'm pretty sure that's with contempt, Hanna, not love," Caleb disagreed.

"Before you said…I was a riddle wrapped in a puzzle inside an enigma—"

"Actually, I said you were a riddle wrapped in an enigma inside a puzzle," he corrected.

"—and I'm still thinking about it," she continued, ignoring him.

He shrugged as he handed her a coffee which he picked up for her at The Brew. "I think you overthink things too much."

For the first time, she didn't argue. This situation was different. Now, she knew that he knew pretty much everything about her.

She took a sip of the coffee. "I think this is the first time since freshman year that you haven't made me want to go on a murderous rampage or at least hit you in the head with a sledgehammer," she told him.

"Thanks…I think," he answered.

She laughed. "It's a good thing. At least, I'm pretty sure it is."

He nodded. "Has it ever occurred to you that maybe you dislike me so much because I'm like you?"

She thought about it for a moment. She never considered that theory. But she realized that he was most likely right. "No."

He didn't say anything. "I should probably bring you home. It's getting late," he said as he looked at the time. She nodded, a bit upset that she had to get home.

He drove her back home. It was only as they pulled up in front of her house that they spoke again.

"And for the record, Spencer? You were always my favorite," he told her.

She raised her eyebrow. "Your favorite what?"

"My favorite riddle wrapped in an enigma inside a puzzle."

So no kissy-kissing for Spoby...this time around. But cuteness involving them not admitting they like each other? Check.

eveningshades1107: I'm sure I will be seeing it soon! And did you hear they're trying to turn it into a stage musical? An evil part of me wants it to happen ASAP, go off quickly, and then be available for purchasing the rights to so I can perform it at school before I graduate. But it probably won't happen :( Oh, well. I'll get to see it in NYC. And you will be the first person I tell; I just got tickets to see Newsies next week. Actually, the day after my birthday! Happy birthday to me! I'm really not sure what to do with myself when it comes to Hanna/Travis and Hanna/Caleb. Or Tranna vs Haleb. On one hand, #NiceGuyTravis. But on the other, it's Caleb. He's like an adorable puppy. But no matter what, there better be Taleb or I will protest and form a riot. I sort of just assumed there was a Rosewood Square. I mean, there's that little place where Lucky Leon's and The Brew and all those stores are. Usually, that's like the centre of a town, commonly called a square (even if it's in the shape of a circle, because LOGIC, people!). I think Mona goes gay for Hanna and Spencer and probably Aria. But not Emily. Emily is already gay. That doesn't work for Mona. She's a masochist, so she has to pine for a female who isn't a lesbian/bi.

MizzIsTheFizz: Well, update, I have finally gotten a pirouette down, though my spotting could still use work. I find ballet pirouettes to be a lot easier than jazz pirouettes and I still can't really figure out why. But I still can't get enough inertia (I guess) to get a double pirouette down. And for some reason, every time I try to practice in my basement, I end up almost falling, but the floor in my dining room is great for turning. But you know; perfect a single pirouette, then try for the doubles and maybe triples. Don't even ask why I'm suddenly so interested in dance. I have no idea. It just seems cool. Thanks!

FabsirellaPrincessOfPopcornia: Yeah, whoever said chivalry is dead was lying. It's so nice when guys do stuff like that. Thanks for reviewing!

Addictedtospoby:Well, I confided in my consigliere, Sarah, and I'm starting to get some ideas. I finished the prologue, but now I'm going to consult my Danish confidant to see what she thinks I should do for Chapter One (I have ideas, but I'm not quite sure yet). Thanks.

AL3110: Yeah, I don't get it. I looked for the one-shot and I couldn't find it on your tumblr. Oh, wait, it's on your page, too. #SillyKayson. I'll check it out as soon as I finish writing. I'll PM you my review (and review of course) and hopefully the first chapter of Stay Stay Stay?! Oh, and yeah, my hair is really thick. I don't know if it's because I'm Mexican, but let's go with that. The only person I've ever met who has thicker hair than mine (besides some of my black friends because they all have really thick hair) is my bestie Michelle. She has really thick hair. I still think mine is about as thick as hers, if not more, but she's insistent on the fact hers is thicker. Either way, our hair is still annoying as heck to style.

*sighs dramatically*

I am staying as calm as I possibly can because I am beyond excited for tomorrow. Not only will it be PLL Tuesday (and maybe we could get some damn answers around here?!), but I will ALSO be uploading a period piece, my one-shot based off of Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey. It's simply amazing. Not lying. I wrote it whilst sipping a Mocha Frappuccino and eating a chocolate croissant in Starbucks (#ProductPlacement).

So please review and tomorrow we can all obsess/yell/cry/scream about how horrible/awful/amazing/annoying PLL was! -Kayson
