Author's Note: I'm back. Haven't seen/talked to you guys in like...less than 24 hours, probably.

I just wanted to give you guys yet ANOTHER PSA and it'll only take a moment. I was informed yesterday that my cousin's friends make a PLL podcast (and on their channel they have other podcasts for TV shows like Once Upon a Time, The Vampire Diaries, Walking Dead, The Originals...) which you should totally check out. Their channel is ASOTV (stands for As Seen On TV, in case you were wondering). Even if you don't listen to podcasts, please check them out. For Kayson? Even if they dissed Toby as detective...I don't care. Well, Mike didn't. Oops.

Anyway, on another note, one quick thing before I begin, you must be informed of something with this one-shot. As I've mentioned to Sarah and a few other people, this one-shot takes place sometime in the 40's or 60's. But since I really really loved the noir episode and I really really love using purple prose and I really really like Lana Del Rey in black and white, just picture this one-shot as a movie filmed in black and white.

Day Forty-Eight: Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey

She placed the silken robes and garments on her body. They felt like heaven on her skin.

Well, they almost felt like heaven. There was one person in the whole world who made life like heaven on earth for her.

She looked at her own reflection in the mirror on her vanity table. Then, she realized how young and beautiful she looked…now. But what would happen when she was no longer young and beautiful? Would everyone still love her?

Would he still love her?

There was a soft knocking at the door. She looked over to see Aria standing there with a letter in her hand. "This was in your mailbox when I was on my way in. Where's Amber?" Aria asked in surprise as she handed the letter to Spencer.

Spencer accepted it without looking. "I told her to go home to her family. I've needed her a lot lately, but I think right now…I just need a break."

She looked down at the letter and finally read it. She brought it close to her chest, protectively, before she put it on the vanity table under a paperweight.

"So…are you still up for lunch? Or would you rather not?" Aria inquired, sensing that the mood in the room just changed drastically.

"That's fine, Aria," Spencer answered stoically. "Lunch is fine," she clarified.

Spencer threw her head back, her milky skin drinking up the sun shining upon her. It reminded her of him.

Her skin had a luminescent type of glow to it. Aria noted that as she walked out of her Bel Air home with two cups of coffee in her hands. It was only as she set them down that Spencer even took in her presence.

"Who are you dreaming about?" Aria asked as she stirred cream in her coffee.

"Oh," Spencer began with a sigh, "nobody, really. I've just been thinking about how I'm supposed to go to Milan in a month and how much I'm going to miss Los Angeles."

"Oh, right. You just get to jet off to Milan whenever the States begin to bore you. You can do everything you'd like because you're Spencer Hastings and you have the world in the palm of your hand and everyone knows your name," Aria commented with a smile as she took a sip of coffee.

Spencer just gave her a small smile. She secretly wasn't so happy since the person who mattered most wasn't there now. She wondered what he was doing…

"And what are you thinking of now?" Aria inquired as she studied Spencer.

She shrugged. "Good memories of the summer. It's bound to come soon," she thought aloud nostalgically.

"It's like summer every day," she commented.

Spencer just shook her head slightly. It wasn't summer to her. Not yet, anyway. As far as she was concerned, it was still the dead of winter.

"How can you feel so lonely surrounded by all these people? I could barely pry you away from your assistant this whole week," he commented.

She shrugged as she just looked up at the sky. It was still hot as all hell, even in the dark night. "I'm glad we got away from everyone. It makes me feel a little less lonely," she said with a smile.

He just stared at her and laughed. "I'll never quite understand you," he decided. He finally sat up. When one sat up on the hill, they could see everything; the city lights, the elaborate parties, everything the city had to offer.

"Most people who want to feel less lonely surround themselves in people."

"But all those people make me feel more lonely," she answered. "It's all fake. With you, I'm a kid again. And the thing about kids is that they never lie. They're forever young and wild and honest."

"If you wanted honest, maybe you should've stayed in the womb," he answered.

"But then I wouldn't have all the things I have right now," she replied simply. "Like you."

Spencer sat down in the chair of her large bedroom. She sat near the window so she could look out over her estate. It looked especially beautiful in the night.

She decided to finally open the letter. She had been anxiously waiting to open it until the dead of the night. She scrupulously opened the letter.

I wrote another song for you today. I can't wait to play it for you. I promise to see you again in the summer, if not sooner. I'm still trying to make it perfect for you. I want you to be the first person to hear it. Every time I hear it, I think of summer and you. I'm playing it for you. And I think every day of you. Until I can speak to you again, I want you to continue to be the angel you are. Make the world the stage like I know you can. There's a fire in your heart and I can feel it, Spencer.

She read the rest of the letter, smiling more brilliantly than she felt she had in ages. When she finished reading it, she placed it carefully on her nightstand and proceeded to take the diamonds out of her ears.

She sat on the floor as she wept. When she walked into her acting space, everything around her disappeared. She abandoned the producer and director and anyone who may have been on the set.

She wept for everything she had. Her chest ached the more she cried. With every tear that rolled down her eye, she felt more accomplished and more filled with sorrow.

"Dear Lord…what's happening to me? How did I get this way? How…how could you let him leave without me? Let me in? Just let me into heaven with him?"

She spoke the words and immediately felt numb. Her crying stopped. She could barely remember the script at all. All she remembered was how to feel.

"How do I carry on without him? That's like…asking the sunflowers to live without their beloved sun, or…the moon carrying on without the earth. Please let me go. Just let me out of here. It hurts."

She was silent. The only thing she could hear was the sound of her own heart beating and her own breathing.

"He belonged to me and now that I don't have him…I don't have anything."

She paused as she thought and thought…about nothing in particular. At least, she didn't think so.

"He was the only one who just loved me."

She heard some commotion, but blocked it all out as they stopped filming. She didn't break character, but drifted off into another reverie. She quickly shook it off and walked off of the set.

"Miss Hastings? Someone is here to see you. Said you were expecting him?" Amber said as she pushed her cat-eyed glasses farther up the bridge of her nose.

Spencer nodded as she pulled the robe she was wearing closed and tied it. Someone holding a large vase filled with roses was behind Amber. Amber walked away. Spencer furrowed her eyebrows.

The person lifted the vase down to reveal themselves. Spencer got so excited that she almost threw the vases on the ground just to get to him. She took the roses and placed them aside before hugging them.

It was Toby. She hugged him tightly and didn't let go. "I can't believe you're here? How did you even get in?" she asked as she buried her face in his neck.

"Amber was in on it. And I couldn't wait until summer," he said.

She smiled. "I love you," she uttered.

"I love you, too." He kissed her head before wrapping his arms around her. "So how is the movie going?" he asked before they both pulled away.

"Better now that you're here," she answered. Her face fell slightly. "But I don't know if you should really be here, Toby. And I think it'd be really boring for you."

"That's fine. I'll wait for you. We can do something later," he said as he brushed some hair out of her eyes. She smiled with a slight blush.

"Do you like this sneaking around?"

"I must say, I've never dated a girl who I needed to sneak around with, but it does add some kind of mystery and intrigue to our relationship," he replied.

She smiled and shook her head in amusement. "You're so insane and I love it," she commented.

"I know I'm insane. I came from New York to Milan for you, remember?" he asked.

She nodded with a small smile. "Of course. Like I could ever forget that. I know we've only known each other for two years, but…" she began as she reached for his hands, "I don't want it to end, ever. I feel like once nobody cares about me anymore and I'm a washed-out has-been…you'll still care. You'll still love me when I'm not young and beautiful."

He nodded as he put his hand on her cheek. "I think you'll always be young and beautiful in my eyes."

I was such a sap in this one.

spobylover1237: Now we know Toby is #TenseForSpence. Well, we already knew. *winky face* I love the tension. Ignore me.

MizzIsTheFizz:Yeah, I figure. I don't know how people could do like triple triple pirouettes. Don't even talk to be about how Sophia Lucia can do like 54 pirouettes in a row. I don't listen to dubstep. And I don't speak French. And I obtain caffeine through chocolate and soda. And you don't need to know anything more about me.

AL3110:I actually loved writing for Toby in this episode. Whatever. *GASP* HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO HER?! YOU MUST APOLOGIZE AL. I insist you apologize. So mean.

eveningshades1107:Hanna was totally my friend Julien in this one-shot. And I still don't know if I'm Spencer or Toby. Probably Spencer. And Toby was...that kid. And yay! I'm excited for Newsies. My bestie went to see Newsies on a class trip and she loved it. I heard a girl ranting and raving about how amazing Jeremy Jordans is and how he was the original main character in Newsies or something like that. It was in the seventh grade. I'm kind of hazy. I honestly don't care at all about Caleb and Alison. The thing I'm most interested in is Toby and Alison interacting. I, for one, can't WAIT to see what Alison thinks of Spoby. She better ship it or I will be the one to smack her with a shovel, especially if she acts like a bitch towards Toby. I honestly don't even know what to think of Caleb. Like, I like Caleb, but I also like Travis. And I like Hanna by herself, too. So why did they have to introduce #NiceGuyTravis only to take him away? And why did they have to write out Caleb only to write him back in? And can ANY of the liars ever be single? For like even five episodes? And when I say single, I mean *single*, not flirting with some guy but not really having a relationship or going on a date but not being exclusive. That doesn't count. Can they ever be single where they truly don't care about boys? I, for one, happen to be in high school, and the thought of boys probably takes up 3% of my life; I truly don't care. So why do the girls have to be involved with a guy like 95% of the time? Sorry. That was #KaysonRantTime. It's cool with the PMs. I had a pending offer (idk if you saw it, but I asked a request). If you'd like to see the prologue, I probably can't send it to you until Thursday, in which case I will be baking a cheesecake so I will try really hard not to jump around or anything if you like it (because cheesecakes are delicious, finicky little bastards that decide to deflate/crack if you make one misstep in the kitchen). But I'll be looking forward to hearing from you again!

I would really, really, really, really, really like to get like 5-7 reviews at least for this chapter! I am especially curious about what you thought of this one because I think this and I Am Not A Robot/Je Ne Suis Pas Un Robot are my favourites so far. And I am quickly approaching my goal of getting to "Radioactive" on my birthday next week.

But I do need some help. Right now, I'm in the middle of the song "Holding Out For A Hero" and I need some ideas. I was thinking of having Hanna and Spencer as waitresses at this little boring diner. And then in walks Toby (and maybe Caleb could be like the Robin to his Batman or whatever) and Hanna's like, "Oh, my God, Spencer, this dude is like...interesting. and our lives are boring. you should date him." And Spencer and Hanna don't know that he's actually a super hero. And this whole time, Spencer's being her cynical self and is like, "We need someone to stop the insanity in this world" and then Toby tells her he's a super hero and Spencer's like OMG, that's cool. you did all that stuff to save the city and I think I really like you. Lame? Meh? Ideas?

I also just learned my mother thinks Superman is superior to Batman. That was not a pun. I'm not funny.

The next one-shot will be *drumroll* Bubbly by Colbie Caillat and those of you who really like little kids will probably like the next one. It's probably the cutest one-shot I've ever written.

And another reminder: please check out my cousin's friends' podcast! I watched it! I'd like to know your opinion so I can tell him and stuff.

Okay, bye! -Kayson

P.S: Anyone who follows me on Tumblr, I'll probably post a theory or some kind of mini-theory on my blog within like the next hour. Bye for reals now.
