Day Sixty-Six: Taking Chances by Celine Dion
She looked at him reluctantly. She couldn't believe she was about to do this. But she didn't want to be alone. He was obviously alone. She believed there was a saying about solitary souls finding each other. And if not…she'd make it up.
She didn't know anything about him except his name. He didn't know anything about her—her past, her future, her reputation—and quite frankly, she didn't know anything about herself, either. She didn't know where she was going or how she really felt about anything going on in her life.
Maybe she was looking for a do-over with him. Maybe he could show her how to begin again.
"Hey," she said quietly.
He looked up at her with confusion. They had never really spoken before. His piercing blue eyes looked broken and downcast.
She sat down slowly next to him. They started to talk and Spencer found herself opening up to him in ways she never had to anyone before.
Maybe taking a chance on him wasn't such a bad idea.
She kissed him fervently and passionately. She was grasping desperately for the buttons on his shirt.
He stopped her. "Are you sure? What if we never see each other again after tonight?" he asked.
"Then we never see each other again and…it was amazing while it lasted."
She jumped in his arms. She was jumping over the edge with him. She didn't care if there was solid ground below or what repercussions there would be. Tonight, they could just be.
She had been heartbroken before. She knew very well that this would probably end up like the other times. It wouldn't stop her from trying to find love. She knew that there was nothing like love to heal someone.
She listened to the beautiful sweet nothings he whispered to her.
She didn't know if he was a lover, a friend, both, or none of the above. She honestly didn't care. She was glad she had taken a chance that day.
To be honest, he was the only one she'd want to take a chance like this on.
IDK where to start, so I'll just start...somewhere :)
Sarah:Thanks.
MizzIsTheFizz:Well...my favourites (not that you asked, I don't think, IDK, I'm very odd today) are probably Chloe and Mackenzie. Mackenzie, it's just like...we watched her grow up! I remembered when she was like so tiny and did all the cutesy dances and now she can finally do such mature ones. And she's a great dancer. But I also really like Nia and #SassMaster Kendall. And Kalani. And Maddie seems nice. All the girls seem sweet. My favourite mom is probably also Christi. She IS the drama on that show, but she really loves Chloe. And Mackenzie. Her relationship with Kenzie is cute. Yeah, I knew Castle/Beckett were getting married, but that's like all I know. I occasionally watch them. Like, I think the most recent episode I saw was the one where Ryan and Esposito got caught in the burning building and Ryan's wife has the baby or whatever. I've heard of them, but I never read them.
eveningshades1107: I hope you're ready for the longest response EVER. Ready? Okay. I don't care who is who in Rent, so long as Spencer asks Toby to light her candle and Mona and Caleb fight over Hanna. Thank you. And BTW, whenever I refer to a blonde, I'm usually referring to Hanna, but feel free to make up whoever you'd like :) Yeah, well I think they could all use a sip of whiskey or vodka or tequila from time to time, considering the shiznit they put up with on a daily basis; you know, just another day in Rosewood! And of course, I had to quote Marina :) AL tells me I do it all the time, subconsciously. And with Lana Del Rey, too, apparently. It could be a drinking game (when we can drink); however many times Kayson quotes either of them, it's a shot! And YES, I inducted someone into the Diamond society. And is it bad that I already taught my eight year old cousin what a Diamond is and that I'm one of them? Because she knows. She even knows who MATD is. Spencer probably was reading something smutty :) Headcanon alert. I think she secretly is. You know what Ali says... "Shy in the streets, sexy in the sheets." ;) Actually, the girls in that particular one-shot are supposed to be Emily (the patron) and Tiffany from Red AU (the bartender). If you recall, Tiffany was a bartender in the first book. And uh...not what I had in mind. Eh, I just finished Lord of the Flies and I wasn't crazy about it. But I like the idea. Though, I have the feeling that Spencer and Toby stranded on an island would be a lot less like LOTF and a lot more like that episode of The Nanny where the newlyweds get stranded on an island. Yes, we must fangirl over Wicked. And I didn't read TFIOS, but I keep hearing things about it and I basically know what happens. Whoops. I would just love to see Spencer/Alison/Toby have a scene together because I feel like it would be so deliciously awkward (maybe even more awkward than Spencer/Mr. Hastings/Shirtless Toby. That scene made me ROTFL). WASP is White Anglo-Saxon Protestant, right? I just want to make sure I get the terminology right :) On one hand, I feel like Spencer Hastings is very sexy in a very unsexy way, but on the other, I could only imagine...no, not going there. Nope. I've dealt with unrequited love like...three times. Maybe four. I don't know. I kind of dealt with it by...liking someone else. Like, that's all. No, I originally posted something else in its place, which you didn't get to see. I accidentally posted #74 instead of #64 (don't even ask why), so I updated two as a "Please forgive me for my incompetence". That would be what happened. Is it bad I crackship Quinn/Spencer, AKA Fabrastings? Like, I actually wrote a story about it. #Obsessed...just not as obsessed as I am with Spoby. Yes, please. I have missed you and your overly analytical/humorous reviews. And quoting and citing musicals! How I've missed that!
Next one-shot is going to be Cry by Kelly Clarkson which I will actually have to label as Cry (Kelly Clarkson) since I'll have like three or four one-shots called Cry (thank you, DM, for using so many pretty, Spoby-friendly songs with the same title).
Never mind, I don't like this new style :( -Kayson
