Author's Note: I present to you...the first of many "Cries"!

Day Sixty-Seven: Cry by Kelly Clarkson

"So what happened with you and Toby?"

She was silent for a moment as she bit her lip. "We both just moved on," she said.

It was a lie. And she didn't care if Hanna and Aria believed her.

"Yeah, but what happened?" Hanna inquired.

She shrugged. "I don't know. We fell apart. It was nice while it lasted, but…it wasn't right for either of us," she explained calmly. It was just more and more lies.

She could tell by looking them in the face that they knew she was lying.

But she couldn't let them know that she knew they knew. She had to act like nothing was wrong. But she just wanted it to be over.

"What happened with you and Spencer?"

It hurt to hear her name. "We just grew apart," he lied.

It hurt so much because he knew it was a lie. He remembered how close they were. And he wasn't okay with this at all. But he had to pretend he was.

"You don't look fine."

He wished it would stop. He didn't want to hear about her anymore; it was too painful.

"We grew apart."

He was repeating himself over and over. He knew it was obvious that he wasn't happy. But it didn't matter. He had to lie.

She saw him today.

She had to bite her tongue and her inner cheek to keep from crying or saying something she'd later regret.

He saw her today.

He had to pretend he didn't hear anyone talk about the way he looked at her. He knew he looked at her longingly. Because he wanted her back. But he had to block them all out.

They both held it in until after last period. Both of them were there after school for various reasons. She found herself in the auditorium, alone, while he was in the hallway.

He closed his eyes as he leaned against the locker.

She closed her eyes as she pressed her palms to her forehead, hoping this headache would go away.

He wondered aloud if it would ever get any easier.

She wondered if it could get any harder than it already was.

And they both cried.

For him, it was the first real cry he had had since his mother died and he realized he'd never get to see her again.

For her, it was the first real cry she had since she realized her parents didn't really love her.

Sarah:Sorry, I just like...I don't know. This has been a weird week for me.

LittleBittyAbby:I get it. I pretty much only read from my phone. Though, I actually kind of like leaving reviews on there. I just have to make sure I remember what, exactly, happened so I can comment on it :) So don't worry about it.

tobyequalshottness: Thank you very much! And...I don't know? I guess I just get a lot of practice writing. I think, if I had to guess, I'd probably say I write around 14 hours a week. And they say you become an expert at something when you've practiced 10.000 hours. I still have a loooooooong way to go, but it's a pretty good start :) And I think I actually will update tonight.

MizzIsTheFizz:I know, everyone is like "Maddie, Maddie, Maddie", but can someone please recognize Kenzie? She's an amazing dancer (and she's only nine!) and she sings (not a fan of her single, but I've heard some of her a cappella singing and it's not that bad, especially for a nine-year old). And acting! Triple-threat! There are not many people who are truly triple-threats, but I think she has great potential to be one. If Spoby breaks up again, I swear...

eveningshades1107: Well, I haven't successfully converted her yet. She's still a Swiftie (bleh). But it's coming. Just wait for it. Though, Alison telling Toby to put pants on/keep it in his pants/keep it clean would be pretty hilarious.

AL3110: The White Bread? I've never actually listened to Birdy. Nope, it wasn't In My Veins. Um...I don't know what to say about that.

The next one-shot will be Back to December by Taylor Swift. Let's be honest; I'm not that-that excited about it, since I'm really not a Taylor fan, but I suppose it'll be fine. I liked it better more than I thought I would. That's a plus, right?

And...I don't really know what to say anymore. So I'll just go with BYE!

Oh, wait, I do. This is a general poll. If I were to write a book and publish it, how many people would give it a chance? Please answer! -Kayson
