Tears were a thing Piper was unfamiliar with. She'd always been good at holding in her emotions. As a child, her father always seemed so proud when she got hurt without crying like all the other children her age.
She'd held Annabeth countless times as she sobbed over Percy's disappearance. But she'd always stayed strong for her friend. Even as she was held captive by the giants, she refused to give them the satisfaction of breaking her, she glared at them defiantly for the entirety of the time she was at their mercy.
But as Jason's shroud burned, she let loose a lifetime worth of tears.
