Inspired by sapphire blue-ruby red roses and her Drawn Together story, which is also a Raven Cycle story with the Sense8 verse. It is NOT related to her story at all, except the general concept of combining TRC and Sense8.
Side note: having watched Sense8 would be extremely helpful in understanding the verse that this is set in (and some references).
prologue
Blue remembered Maura telling her fantastical stories - of girls who couldn't kiss their true loves, lest they die, or magical forests and dream things corrupted by demons. And despite her love for these particular stories, no matter the tragic endings (for that made it all the better), Blue never considered actually being in one.
After all, she lived in a house full of psychics - what other excitement could she want?
"Right? Of course, exactly what I thought. We don't need any other excitement; we do just fine here."
"Maura." Mr. Gray warned his better half. "She should know what's about to happen."
Alright, now it was just plain worrisome, something that didn't strike quite right in Blue's heart. "Mom?"
Maura sighed, settling her hands on the table in front of her, wishing she never had to have this talk with her daughter. But it was unavoidable now.
"I've always been honest with you, Blue. You're a smart girl, and you deserve that. I've never hid what you are, how you're different that the rest of us…" she said 'different' like it was something that might hurt Blue's feelings. "But something has changed."
Maura looked ready to stop there, but Blue persisted, her curiosity making her greedily lean further for any information. Mr. Gray rubbed Maura's shoulders gently.
"You're going to find your cluster." Maura deadpanned, the meaning much more obvious for the older psychic than to her mirror daughter.
"Okaaaay…"
"It's not a good thing, Blue." The Gray Man filled in the empty space.
"Why not? Aren't they just like me?" This was the extent of Blue's knowledge of clusters - Maura, Calla and Persephone hadn't given her much more than that. It was something she had never forgotten though; to Blue, the idea sounded incredibly attractive and wonderful. She had always felt out of place at 300 Fox Way, what with not being able to read the future. But these people - her cluster - they'd understand.
"Yes," Mr. Gray started slowly, as if testing Maura and how much she really wanted to tell her daughter. When her lips stayed in a thin line, he continued. "It's also what got your father killed."
