Day Ninety-Eight: This Time by Carrie Underwood

Spencer, clutching her sheer black shawl, sat by the hotel pool and contemplated dipping her feet in. She decided against it, seeing as how she was at a wedding and all. Especially the wedding of her boyfriend's father. She wanted to try and fix the bad impression she had given them previously.

She leaned back on the beach chair which had been set up within feet of the pool. She stared up at the sky and admired the stars she could finally see here on the outskirts of the city. They looked really beautiful. She only wished she could look at them more often.

"Spence?"

She sat up and saw Toby walking over. She smiled at him as he sat down next to her.

"Are you okay?" he inquired.

She nodded. "I'm fine. I just feel…"

"Nervous? Anxious?"

She shook her head. "…excited. Happy, even. In love. I think it's something in the water," she brushed off. "Or maybe something in my head."

He stared at her lovingly, but didn't really say anything.

They sat like that—in silence—for a few minutes. They could hear the music in the background and crickets chirping around them, but it was unspoken comfort between the two of them. The night seemed tranquil and peaceful. It seemed suiting for them.

After a few minutes of the comfortable silence, he pulled her in for a kiss. She felt her heart beat more quickly when he pulled her in.

That made her think of something. "Toby…have you ever thought about getting married?" she asked quietly, almost as if she didn't want anyone to hear her. She was bursting with anxiousness with this question.

"To you?" he inquired.

She hesitated a moment before shrugging. She wanted to say yes, but she feared his reaction.

"Well…sometimes. I guess. I don't know if I think about marriage, but…the future, I guess. And you're always in it," he told her.

She nodded. She was biting back the excitement. "I really hope you're in my future," she mumbled softly.

There was more silence before she piped up again. "Well…what are we waiting for?"

Toby looked at her in confusion.

"I can't wait any longer to be with you in every way possible. We don't know what's going to happen tomorrow or the day after or in weeks or months or even years. Before we know it, we'll be a lot older and we won't even have realized it. All I know is that I know nothing except for that I love you. Why don't we just do it?" she inquired.

He looked a little confused. "Have sex?"

She shook her head. "No…no. Get married. And yes, I guess then, we'd consummate our marriage."

He considered it for a moment. Her eyes were just begging him. She knew she was crazy. But she was also crazily in love with him.

"Okay. Why not?"

Ha ha, actual one-shot.

Sarah:Oh, believe me, I know. Of course I care about your nerdy excursions! Poutine? Oh, I looked it up. It sounds disgusting.

LittleBittyAbby:Practice makes perfect! Seriously, my early stuff SUCKS. I read something I wrote like two years ago and it is AWFUL. Like, I was ready to cry.

AussieMizzie: That sounds like...a lot of stuff. Sorry, I read all of that yesterday and had more clever responses, but I'm kind of in a hurry. Yeah, I wanna go see wallabies.

AL3110:NO! What is with you and the ideas? If you love it so much, why don't YOU write that one-shot collection/story? I will read it. And I didn't mean dirty like that. Go take a shower. It's good for your health. Really, it is. Did I mention the Catcher in the Rye in that one? Or was that a later one? OMG, AL, are we telepathizing? Wow...that's a word? Alright, then.

I'm in a rush (as always!) so the next one-shot is gonna be Get Back In My Life by Maroon 5. I think it was good. Can't remember.

Oh, yeah, and tomorrow is PLL DAY ARE YOU GUYS AS EXCITED AS I AM?

Because I'm not excited. Because Toby isn't in that episode. But Spencer's back! And Hanna! Alright, I guess I can deal. But really, I'll be waiting for 5x02 when Toby and his pretty face are back. :) -Kayson
