Chap 82 A name from the past
The next day Sam was sitting at his laptop searching for some information. Dean was still looking through the boxes in the bunker.
"Sammy, these are amazing items." Dean was telling his brother when he showed what he found.
"That's great Dean." Sam said jokingly to him when he shook his head.
"Hey guys." Lexi said to her brothers, while coming up behind him to give him a hug.
"Hey Lex." Sam said to his sister with a smile.
"How ya feeling?" Dean asked her when he was coming closer to her.
"Ok, I guess." She was saying when she was sitting down at the table.
"How bout I make you some eggs?" Sam then asked his sister.
"Yes, she will." Dean said when he was answering for her.
"I guess I am." She was telling Sam.
"Well you do need to eat. Gotta keep your strength up." Dean told her when she knew he was right.
When Sam was done, he was bringing her some eggs with ketchup and some juice.
"Here you go." Sam told her placing the dish by her.
"Thank you." She told her brother while still looking on the computer.
Lexi saw something that caught her eye. Dean and Sam were in a discussion about something that Lexi stopped paying attention to.
"Hey guys." She said to her brothers when they then stopped to face her.
"Yeah." Sam said to her softly.
"Does the name Jack Barnado ring a bell?" She asked her brothers.
Dean and Sam gave each other a looking thinking of why that name sounded familiar.
"Now that's a name in the past we haven't heard in what-?" Dean asked Sam.
"A long time." Sam was telling his brother.
"Why you ask?" Dean stood their asking her.
"So you know him or of him?" She sat there asking her brothers.
"He was one of dad's friends I guess. Why?" Dean asked her again.
"They found him dead." She told her brothers.
"Jack's dead?" Sam said shockingly.
"Why is it such a shock?" She asked her brother since she was confused.
"Cause Jack was a great hunter." Dean told his sister.
"Did it say how?" Sam asked her.
"It says he was on a hunt and things went wrong." She told her brothers when she was reading more of the article.
"Jack was the best, Dad probably learned one or two things from him." Sam was telling her.
"Really." She said to her brother.
"Hey what's wrong?" Dean asked her.
"Nothin." She told him when she shook her head.
Dean and Sam gave each other a look before looking back at Lexi.
"What?" Dean was asking her.
"It just makes no sense." She said when she sat there.
"What do you mean?" Dean asked her.
"If he was so good, how can he have been killed?" She asked them looking up at them.
"Hunts go wrong, you know that. Even for the best hunters." Sam explained to her.
"I know." She said looking back down at the computer screen.
"Lex, something wrong?" Dean asked her when he was worried about her.
"Just thinking that's all." She told them both.
She then looked up at her brothers with a thought.
"Maybe we should go and visit Jack's family. You know find out more of what really happened?" She suggested to her brothers.
"Not a bad idea." Dean said to Sam shrugging their shoulders.
"OK- lets go." Sam said agreeing with Dean.
The three of them were then going to head to Jack's family estate to see what they can find out about his hunt and his death. Lexi was in her room getting her things ready for their road trip. While Dean was passing her room, he saw her sitting there with her hands in her face.
"Lexi." Dean said softly to her as he was coming into her room.
"Yeah." She said answering her brother.
"Ready?" He asked her.
"Yup. Lets do this." She told her brother while they were heading out.
Lexi slid in the back seat while her brothers were up front. They were talking about things randomly. Dean kept looking in the mirror to check on his sister. Lexi was looking out the window.
