Day One-Hundred Fifty-Two: To Whom It May Concern by The Civil Wars
Have you ever gotten that feeling? The feeling that you were missing something in your life. It was like you knew you were destined to get what you were missing, so you just had to wait for it.
For him, he had this achingly empty feeling because his arms were always empty. Pillows just didn't suffice. He knew he was looking for a girl. He was looking for the girl, who would fit in his arms perfectly, like they were made for each other. He didn't know where she was. He just knew she was too far away.
And for her, it was like fate was playing an excruciatingly long game with her. It was torturing her by making her wait for this one person she needed in her life. She didn't know how much longer she could take it. She needed them. There was a hole in her heart she needed to fill, and so long as she was missing that person, it would always be empty.
He'd sit on the windowsill, looking out to the Brooklyn Bridge. Sometimes, he felt pulled there, like some greater force was dragging him over to the window.
He hadn't met her yet, but he wanted to. Oh, how he wanted to. He couldn't wait to finally hold her and kiss her and know her name and the way it felt coming off of his tongue. Her voice would probably be the most mellifluous sound in the world.
She was out there. He was sure of it. Fate was just waiting to bring them together.
She would also sit on the windowsill in her Lower West Side apartment in Manhattan. She could see Staten Island faintly and Brooklyn—including the Brooklyn Bridge—from her apartment. She just liked sitting at the window.
She missed him. She couldn't wait to meet him. She wanted to feel that tingly feeling she would get when his skin touched her sensitive skin on her waist. She wanted to feel his hand around her waist. She wanted to hear him laugh and feel him smile into their kisses. She knew he'd be someone who loved to laugh all the time.
She knew he was out there, looking. She'd be waiting for him. She'd wait for as long as she needed to.
AL3110: You never actually told me what you thought of the last two one-shots. That was the first time I heard that song. It was good.
MilaMizz: My PE class in spring and fall is usually playing gaga, kickball, or tennis. In winter, it's volleyball, kickball, (sometimes) floor hockey, and the fitness room (where we have to take charts in order to get a grade). We can't cut because the classes aren't huge and the teachers always take attendance. I took health last year. Easy A. I don't have to take it again. That sucks. At first I thought I was overworking my back, but I've had back problems in the past. I really don't know what it is. It hurts to lie on my stomach and it even hurts to play the violin (and it's like an unbearable pain in my neck and my lower back on the right). Glad you liked it!
The next one-shot will be Faithfully by Journey. It takes me back to my Gleek days. (I was totally thinking of Finchel while writing this...*sob*) -Kayson
