Chapter 5
A black helicopter was flying over some rocky mountains sitting in the back seat was Eggman and sitting across from him was from Snively. Eggman groaned and rubbed his forehead. His nephew had a concerned look on his face.
"You ok Mr. President?"
Eggman looked at him.
"Of course I am why would you think I'm not ok?"
"You just seem troubled by something" said Snively.
Eggman frowned and looked away from him.
"It's that blasted blue rodent if he can't be caught then my plans will be ruined".
The helicopter then flew over a base that was built into the side of a small mountain. The vehicle landed on a landing platform and the engine was turned off. Eggman and Snively got out and standing before them were G.U.N generals sautéing him.
"At ease, at ease" ordered Eggman. "Let's see that laser cannon generals"

"You sold out to Eggman" said Shadow looking at the five figures in front of him and Sonic.
"I'm doing my duty" said Knuckles taking a few steps towards them. "Look this isn't my decision to make it's the courts".
"Courts!" said Shadow sternly. "This is Eggmans vended".
Sonic looked over at the white bat.
"Rouge what do you think of all this?"
Rouge looked surprised but then looked away sadly. Knuckles stepped in front of Sonic's view of her.
"It doesn't matter what any of us thinks, Eggman is the president and what he says goes". Knuckles folded his arms.
"Now are you coming or not?" the red echidna glared at Sonic.
Sonic just stared at Knuckles for a moment.
"Not"
Knuckles sighed, Mighty and Espio started walking towards them. Shadow used chaos flare and a bright light blinded Knuckles and his comrades for a second. In that second Sonic sped past them. Shadow jumped high in the air and used chaos spear on Mighty, Knuckles and Shade. Espio rolled out of the way and ran to Shadow as the dark hedgehog landed back on the ground. The purple ninja pulled out a knife and swung at him. Shadow quickly dodged it and did a back flip on the second swing. Shade pulled out a high tech boomerang and threw it at Sonic who was running towards them. Sonic slid on his knees and the sharp bladed boomerang flew over his face, just missing him. Sonic got back on his feet and jumped over Shade and pushed her to the ground.
Espio kept swinging his knife at Shadow but the hedgehog was too quick, and when Espio missed him once more Shadow did a high kick sweep to his side knocking Espio down. Suddenly a huge rock was thrown at him but Shadow stepped to the side and avoided it as it crashed on the ground where he was standing before. Shadow looked up and saw Mighty on an upper ledge picking up another piece of rubble to throw at him. Shadow used chaos lance and created a lance made of energy and threw it at Mighty. The lance hit the rubble out of Mighty's hands, but before he could do anything Shade was thrown into the air and crashed into Mighty making them fall to the ground. Shadow looked to his left and saw Sonic giving him a thumbs up.
"Look out!" yelled Rouge.
Sonic looked to his right and jumped out of the way just before Knuckles came crashing down with his fists. Knuckles looked and glared at Rouge who had her hands over her mouth.
Knuckles then ran towards Sonic and the hedgehog did the same. They both jumped in the air at each other. When he got close enough Knuckles grabbed Sonic and turned him around and punched him, sending Sonic crashing down on the ground. Sonic slowly got up but then was tackled by Mighty. Mighty had him on the ground and was punching him over and over. He was going to punch once more in till he felt something grab his right arm.
"Enough!"
Mighty glanced back and saw Knuckles holding his arm back. Mighty realized what he was doing and nodded to the echidna. Sonic opened his eyes and made his move. He quickly got up and ran past them making them hit the ground.
"Shadow lets end this now with a combined tornado!" called Sonic.
Shadow nodded and the two hedgehogs started running around Knuckles and the others at super speed. A vortex of wind started to form; Mighty and Espio were swept off of their feet. Knuckles held on to Shade and Rouge but were also sucked into the tornado. As Rouge was spinning in the wind she felt something grab her. Rouge realized that Sonic was carrying her, Sonic ran out of the tornado and towards the city with Shadow right beside them. The tornado quickly disappeared and Knuckles, Shade, Espio and Mighty all fell back on the ground. Knuckles got on his knees and put a hand on his head. He looked around and frowned when he realized the hedgehogs were gone and that they took Rouge as well.

Dr Eggman and Snively walked down a hallway with a General in front of them.
"Some of our scientists were going over the scenario on their computers" explained the general.
The three of them walked into a large lab with scientist on computers and in front of the room was a large screen showing the laser and the meteor hitting Mobius.
"They don't think the laser will be enough to…"
"General I don't care what your scientist think" interrupted Eggman.
He looked at the general.
"The laser will knock out the meteor I did all the calculations myself".
"Yes sir" said the general.
Suddenly a phone rang from Snively's pocket; he pulled it out and gave to Eggman. He opened it and put it to his ear.
"Knuckles this isn't the best time"
"Sorry sir but you wanted to be kept informed" said Knuckles through the phone speaker.
"Yes fine" sighed Eggman. "Do you have them in custody?"
"No sir"
"What happened!" yelled Eggman.
…
Knuckles flinched as Eggman yelled at him. Espio, Shade and Mighty were standing aside watching him.
"We lost Rouge the Bat" said the echidna.
"Is she dead?" asked the dr
"No sir she…"
"Knuckles I have three words for you finish…the …JOB!"
…
Eggman closed the phone
"Mobions" he said angrily.

Knuckles sighed as he closed his phone; he then turned to his team.
"It's not going to be any easier without Rouge".
"We will find a way" said Mighty.
Shade and Espio nodded in agreement.
"Your right" said Knuckles. He looked off into the distance and saw the sun rising behind the city.
