"NOO! INO!" Naruto screamed with fury. Even Kiba shivered at his demonic chakra that was now pouring off of his body.

With Naruto all he was seeing was red from rage. His whole body was shaking uncontrollably. But his chakra mode vanished and instead his appearance became like it did against the battle with Sasuke in The Final Valley. Only he wasn't down on all fours and had three chakra tails thrashing angrily with a fourth growing already. Naruto sensed Kiba backing away slowly but didn't care that he was scaring his best friend all he could think of was the blade piercing through Ino with her going limp and falling to the ground with the sword still inside of her.

Naruto's kyuubified eyes stared at her fallen form for a few seconds before he slowly turned to face the remaining Shinobi. Apparently they all thought this was a genjutsu since the all held there hands up and screamed,

"KAI!" Naruto smiled viciously at his prey and then went down on all fours and finished his four tails state. He then lunged at the closest asshole and grabbed him by the throat and muttered,

"Tailed beast Rasengan." He threw the man into the air with his left hand and stretched his left chakra arm out with the slightly bigger, purple Rasengan and struck the man in the chest. But instead of flying even higher in the sky he just exploded from the raw power drenching his teammates in his blood. He turned around and roared so powerfully that the other Shinobi went barreling through the air.

In Naruto's mindscape

Naruto was staring up at the massive nine tailed fox staring back at him. Kurama was the first to speak.

"Your wondering how you transformed into the four tails state aren't you." It was more of a statement than a question so Naruto just waited for the Kyuubi to continue.

"Naruto your sword is giving you more ability to control my chakra than before. Chakra mode is when my chakra is converted into a more powerful version of yours with hints of my chakra left in it. However my pure chakra reacts to rage and hate, therefore you are using my normal chakra which is why you are in the four tails state."

Naruto seemed to think this over before responding.

"Then how come Octopops and Hachibi don't have to convert their chakra like me?" The giant fox seemed to become annoyed with his question and responded more than slightly agitated.

"The eight tail's chakra isn't made of evil like mine, he is one of the 'pure' tailed beasts."

Naruto seemed satisfied with that until Kurama spoke once more,

"I will answer your next question later." The fox then cut off their mental link forcing Naruto out of his mindscape.

What does he mean, 'next question'? He thought to himself. He shrugged his shoulder and left his mindscape to deal with the task at hand.

Kiba couldn't believe what he was seeing. Naruto just snapped! I have never seen him snap like this! Not to mention he is using the fucking demons power! I have to get Ino away from here because if she isn't already dead she will be!

Kiba motioned for Akamaru to follow him and they dashed to where Ino is lying to find her coughing and already pulling the sword out to begin healing herself. Even so he didn't think she was very alert at the moment, since she wasn't even noticing the screams of agony and the explosions going on. Kiba helped get up so he could move her away from the battlefield.

"Ino come on we have to move away from here! We are going to get caught up in Naruto's rampage!" Kiba shouted over the most recent screams of terror. Ino's eyes seemed to focus when she heard Kiba say her boyfriends name. She started to look around frantically and kept opening and closing her mouth like she was trying to speak but couldn't find her voice. Kiba kept trying to lead her towards the woods for cover but it was proving difficult since she was too busy trying to find Naruto.

Kiba looked over at Akamaru, "AKAMARU! HELP ME OUT HERE!" The dog barked in reply and darted in between Ino's legs and lifted her up and started trotting with her on his back with Kiba right behind them. That is until one of the Shinobi came stumbling out of the woods on the other side of the clearing. He had blood running down the right side of his face from a gash on his temple.

"HELP ME! PLEASE! I WILL DO ANYTHING! IM BEGGIN-" He was abruptly cut off because a five tailed Naruto, or what appeared to be Naruto, dashed into the clearing and slammed the man to the ground. He then picked the man up by his throat and held him up off the ground with his feet dangling.

Ino in her dazed state managed to see this and whispered wide eyed,

"Naruto?"

The beast snapped his head towards the group's direction, and studied them. Ino saw this and breathed in as deep as she could and yelled,

"NARUTO! PUT HIM DOWN!" Naruto dropped the enemy and started walking towards them picking up his pace as he went. With every tail that disappeared he picked up pace so that when all of the tails were gone he was in a full out sprint. When Naruto got there he ignored Kiba and went straight to Ino's side, who had managed to get off of Akamaru's back and down on her knees. Naruto's eyes were his normal cerulean eyes when Ino looked into them.

"Ino… I-I thought I lost you… please… never let that happen again… I can't bear to think I lost you again or lose you for good..."

Ino smiled sincerely at him and nodded her head yes but didn't speak. Naruto's eyes suddenly flashed red and he leaped up and jumped behind Kiba and grabbed the katana with his bare hand that would have killed him. Kiba spun around in shock and swore to himself, since that was the second time Naruto had saved him. Naruto looked over his shoulder ignoring the pain in his hand and asked Ino,

"Is this the guy who did that to you?" The lavender-eyed young woman studied the guy carefully and nodded.

"Good. He can be my swords first victim." He said with his voice devoid of any emotion. With that he quickly kicked the man as hard as he could and sent him backwards. Then he reached over his shoulder with his left hand and slowly pulled his katana out. When he finally pulled his blade out he lowered it until it was sticking out from his side at a forty-five degree angle and waited for the other man to get up. Once he did the two stared each other down for what seemed an eternity. Then the two launched themselves at each other like they were shot out of a cannon.

They clashed in the middle of the field and began trading slashes. As the fight wore on even Kiba could tell Naruto was outclassed in Kenjutsu by this ninja. Naruto back flipped to gain some breathing room. He had small cuts all over his arms and his cheeks and had a gash across his back while his opponent only had a few cuts here and there. I need to beat this guy! Nobody can put their hands on Ino when I am here ever again! Just thinking about what this guy did infuriates me! The more Naruto thought about it the more pissed he became. His eyes were now kyuubified and his hair was rippling and his claws became long and sharper. He even began to get the ninetails cloak around his body.

Until all of the red chakra seemed to be sucked off of his body and drain into the sword. The sword then glowed bright white with the red chakra around it. Naruto looked down in surprise. The other ninja seized his opportunity and charged Naruto. Just when Naruto was about to be cut down he blocked the two handed strike with one arm effortlessly. (Think of the episode in bleach when the Arrankars showed up and Chad tried to attack the biggest one and got his arm ripped apart in the park and Ichigo stopped him with one hand.)

Naruto looked straight into the eyes of his opponent and muttered,

"Demon Slash…" After he said that the blade glowed and then all the collected chakra exploded out of it and enveloped the last of their attackers in a flash of red.Naruto had one thought before he passed out. What the fuck did I just do?

When Naruto opened his eyes he saw that it was nighttime. He went to get up but stopped when he felt something holding him down. Well two things holding him down. Ino was on his left side curl up against him and Akamaru was on his right with his head on Naruto's chest.

"Glad to see you're awake."

Naruto looked over to his right to see Kiba sitting on a log wide-awake staring back at him.

"We need to talk Naruto." He nodded and slid out from underneath Ino and Akamaru and followed Kiba a distance away from camp to begin explaining what happened.

It was almost daytime when Naruto finally finished explaining everything he knew about what happened. Kiba looked off into the distance thinking to himself until he looked back at Naruto.

"What was that red that came from your sword Naruto?" Kiba was staring at him very intently. Naruto thought for a moment before he answered.

"I have absolutely no idea."

Kiba sweat dropped and hung his head. He is still the same old Naruto.

"You know you are still and idiot right?" Naruto merely shrugged and started walking back towards camp. Before he walked to far though, said without turning around,

"Thank you for taking care of Ino, Kiba, when all I did was lose my cool and needlessly slaughter an entire group of men who probably had wives and children. When they saw me change they got terrified and started to run and I tore into every single one of them. I talk about peace and how I don't want to kill anyone and then I slaughter ten people."

Kiba studied the back of his head a moment then said, "Don't worry about it, you were just protecting us-" Naruto cut him off by turning around with a hollow look in his eyes.

"No Kiba, don't make excuses for me; it won't make it okay…" With that said Naruto turned again and continued on to camp, leaving Kiba to process what he just said.

After Ino was rested enough the trio continued onward. The rest of the way to the Cloud was uneventful, which was why Ino and Kiba were worried and rightly so. Nothing was ever uneventful when Naruto was around.

Ino stared at the back of Naruto's head the entire way there trying to figure out how to cheer him up or help him. She could never think of anything. Kiba told me why he was acting like this and what happened after I blacked out. Before the war I would have been terrified of him, but now I know better. I know that he was only trying to protect us, if only we could convince him to believe it too.

Kiba was in the same boat as Ino. That look in his eyes… It's just like the look of an innocent child that watched something terrible. Naruto doesn't have the heart to kill. I am surprised he made it this far as a ninja without killing anyone. Well besides the Zetsu fags. Kiba looked up at Naruto and watched him for a few moments. Outwardly he looked like normal, unless you are very close to him, but Kiba knew that inwardly he was in turmoil. He sighed and hoped that Naruto would get over it quickly enough so they could complete their mission without any more interruptions.

By evening the next night they made it to the Village hidden in the Clouds. Kiba and Ino gawked at the size of the village. Naruto just continued walking leaving them both to catch up. When they got to the gates the guards didn't even stop them from entering. Actually it was the exact opposite. They wanted an autograph from the hero, and waved them through. Ino quickened her pace until she wasn't right beside Naruto.

"Perks of being a renowned ninja. No more standing in line." She said with a smirk. But he seemed so caught up in his thoughts that he didn't even notice. So she shut her mouth and slowed down a couple of steps until she was beside Kiba.

"I'm worried about him." She stated.

"I know I am too."

"Do you think that was his first kill?" Kiba looked over at her and frowned.

"I think it might have been, I can't remember him killing anybody before, not counting the Zetsu things." Ino closed her eyes and sighed.

"We have to do something, we can't just let him be like this the entire time we are here."

"I know we d-"

"NARUTO! WHAT'S UP LITTLE BRO? FOOL YA FOOL!" Said Naruto stopped and looked up to find his sensei Killer Bee standing there with his fist out. He stopped in front of Killer bee and held his own fist out and touched his to Bee's. There was silence, until Bee muttered, "I see." Kiba sighed knowing that nothing good was about to happen. Ino shot him a confused look and he motioned to wait. Not even a second later Bee looked right at Ino, surprise evident on his face. Kiba sighed again, and Ino sweat dropped. Bee smiled mischievously, but almost as soon as it appeared it was gone and was replaced by a completely serious demeanor. The two lowered their fists and for a few moments nothing happened.

"I see." Is all Bee said as he turned and walked away with Naruto behind him. Kiba and Ino looked at each other, now more worried than before and continued walking.

The Raikage sat leaned forward in his chair staring at the trio in deep thought.

"No one could tell which village they were from or which country?" Naruto shook his head. "No, they didn't even have any headbands on them as far as I could tell. All of their faces were covered with some weird type of gas mask." Ay frowned and closed his eyes in deep thought. He opened his eyes and looked at the trio of Leaf Shinobi.

"I will need time to look in to this. I will also alert the rest of the alliance about this to see what they think about it. Until then you need to train and enjoy my village." Everyone said the usual "Hai!" and was dismissed. Killer Bee told them, well rapped, to meet him at the Ravine when they wanted to get on with their training, and that Naruto would know where it was. He shun shined leaving the trio to roam the streets.

"I can't take this silence anymore! Naruto you have to get over it!" Kiba shouted in frustration. Ino, who was behind said blonde, nearly bumped into him. Naruto on the other hand stopped as soon as he heard it and with out turning around he said,

"Why? Why should I? I slaughtered them, it wasn't right."

"Because they attacked us! They nearly KILLED Ino! They brought it onto themselves!" Kiba was getting extremely pissed by this point.

Dammit the way things are going now they will just end up screaming at each other. Why is he so upset about this? Is it because… Oh now I get it. She smirked and uttered one word very quietly that caught the other two's attention. Naruto turned around slowly and looked her dead in the eye.

"What did you say?" He asked, his voice low. Ino held his gaze, staring straight into his eyes.

"Weak. You're too weak." Naruto widened his eyes and Kiba's jaw hit the floor.

"If you weren't so weak you wouldn't have felt the need to kill them because you couldn't protect me. Isn't that why you are so upset about this? You are upset because you can't spread peace and protect your friends at the same time right?" Naruto broke his eyes away from hers and lowered his head. Ino jumped forward and grabbed his trench coat and forced him to look at her.

"What is wrong with you? Why are you giving up? I thought your ninja way was that you will never give up? Well prove it! Train! Get strong enough so that you can spread peace and protect your friends!" Naruto looked her in the eyes again but this time it was different. Before he had that same hollow look in his eyes, but now he had some of that old fire in his eyes again.

Kiba was impressed. Ino had talked to him for a whole two minutes and had already changed him back into his old self.

Naruto turned his head towards Kiba. "Kiba you were right I am sorry," then he looked back towards Ino noticing she was still holding his trench coat and was VERY close to his face. He raised his eye brow at her, "Taking the Initiative are we now?" Ino looked at him like he was retarded, then seemed to realize how close they were and blushed.

"Shut up!"
