"Ally, we can't just lie here all day."

"Sure we can!" I protested.

"C'mon it's a beautiful day! Let's go and actually do something." He convinced.

"You know, doing nothing is something." I defended back.

He laughed lightheartedly at that.

I had turned so I was lying on my stomach to view him better. My elbows were propped up on his chest, my chin resting in my hands. He was drawing lazy circles up my shoulder and on my back, quite soothingly I might add. He was right though. As much as I'd like to, we can't lay in bed all day.

"Oh, Ally." He laughs again…

"Oh, Austin." I giggled.

"So are you going to get up or am I going to have to force you out?" he asks.

"Despite the fact that you make a perfect pillow, and that I'm finally getting warm, yes, I'll get up." I groaned defeated and a little annoyed.

"Just go get ready." He smirked.

"Alright, alright." I teased.

Let the teasing begin … again.

I pulled myself out of bed and headed to the tiny closet the cabin provided. I grabbed and outfit for the day, and when Austin wasn't looking I "accidentally" dropped my shirt on the floor. A wicked smile formed on my face. This would be fun. I felt Austin's eyes on me as I headed to the bathroom, so I purposefully swayed my hips a little more than usual as I walked. It's a shame I couldn't see his face.

I got into the bathroom and quickly changed out of my pajamas. I pulled on a pair of tight high wasted shorts, similar to yesterdays. In nothing but my bra and shorts I decided now was a good time to get my shirt.

I opened the bathroom door half way, so just my head and half my upper body was peering out. His head and attention snapped up to look at me as soon as the door opened, and his jaw quickly dropped.

That boy could catch flies at this rate.

"Hey Austin?" I asked innocently.

"ye-yeah?" he stuttered nervously.

"I think I dropped my shirt on the way. Could you bring it to me please?" I asked, my voice smooth and thick like honey.

His eyes faltered away from my face and down my body for a split second, but it wasn't fast enough for me to notice. Now I know I didn't have the biggest chest, and mine was nothing close to Cassidy's, but I couldn't help but feel a bit more confident at his actions. I think a permanent blush had crept its way onto my fair cheeks. But hey, Austin Moon just checked me out! He swallowed nervously before finding words to speak.

"Sure." He said, biting his lip.

I watched as he got up from the edge of my bed and pick up the top I had picked out. Once he got it he looked hesitant as to how he should bring it to me.

Oh how I loved when he got flustered like this.

He finally decided to just bring it to me. The longer he waited, the longer he had to look at me half naked, which he secretly didn't mind but would never admit. I'm surprised he got the shirt over to me without combusting!

"Here." he said, trying to hide his nerves as he placed the fabric in my hands.

Feeling courageous, I got up on my very tip toes and brought my mouth to his hot ear to whisper

"Are you ok? I mean, it's nothing you haven't seen before, right?"

He stiffened at my words and didn't move a muscle when I came back down to the flats of my feet. I gave him a quick wink before shutting the door in his face.

He totally knew I was referring back to the day in his cabin when he was shirtless in front of me.

"Ally, we've been friends for years now. It's nothing you haven't seen before."

That my friends, is how you give someone a little taste of their own medicine. Man I'm good! I quickly finished changing and went back out as if none of that had even happened.

"Where to?" I asked as we slipped on our shoes and headed out the door.

"I have another surprise for you." He smiled.

"Can't you just tell me." I whined as we walked.

"Well then it wouldn't be a surprise now would it?" he teased.

"Boo you." I teased, sticking my tongue out at him.

"When exactly did we travel back to the fifth grade Ms. Dawson?" he asked, pretending to be appalled.

"Since now." I retorted back.

He let out an utmost perfect laugh. And I think I forgot how to breathe.

"Oh Ally." He started.

The way my name rolls of his tongue, oh it's a sound of pure bliss.

"Trust me, it's nothing insanely special." He tried to convince.

"Well we better hurry up so I can be the judge of that, now shouldn't we?" I winked.

"Alright, alright." He smiled.

He preceded to boop my nose, and I proceeded to roll my eyes at him. We walked insanely close, hands brushing each other's every so often. The fact that we were close enough to be touching but weren't really touching drove me insane. We didn't say much on the rest of the way, but we didn't have to say anything. I liked moments like those. Finally we arrived at one of my favorite places at the camp, the good old lake.

"Told you it was nothing special." He stated as we walked on the dock.

"Well since I'm the judge I have to disagree. Anywhere is special as long as I'm with you." I smiled.

I watched a smile grow on his face too.

"You know you have a really cute smile." I blurted out.

Instantly I flew my hand up to cover my mouth before I could say anything else to embarrass myself. Oh god. Real smooth Ally.

"I mean-"

He tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear to shut me up.

"Your smile is way cuter though." he winked.

I felt a rush of butterflies fill my stomach and my heart stopped. We reached the edge of the endless dock, water just below our feet. An idea popped into my head, a rather flirty one too. But it's going to have to wait just a little bit.

"So, how are things with you and Cassidy." I asked, desperate to change subject.

I can't believe I'm really asking that but can you blame me?

"Really good." he smiled.

"Well I'm happy for you." I smiled back.

At least that was the truth. I am happy for him.

"What about you? Got your eye on anyone in particular?" he teased, nudging my shoulder with his.

"Well maybe if you wouldn't fight every guy who takes an interest in me I'd have a boyfriend by now." I teased back.

"Pft, Cody? That guy? Please." He protested.

"Unless you were, dare I say, jealous?" I teased some more.

"I was not jealous!" he defended.

"Sure sounds like it." I laughed.

"I just, couldn't stand to see you get hurt. You can do so much better than him." He admitted.

"My hero." I jokingly gushed, placing my hands over my heart.

"What would I do without you?" I continued.

"Shut up." He laughed.

"You're a good friend, you know that?" I asked.

"Not as good as you." he disagreed, shaking his head.

I gingerly placed my hand over top of his bicep, trailing my fingernails along his skin. Remember that great teasing idea? This is it. I got up on the tips of my toes, using my hold on his arm for balance, and brought my lips to his ear.

"Oh Austin," I barely whispered.

I watched as he swallowed the anticipation. I felt him grow stiff under my touch and I watched as he nervously chewed his bottom lip. He watched me lick my lips before speaking again.

"Would a good friend do this?" I asked, a wicked smile on my face.

He went from flustered and nervous to confused in a matter of seconds. Before he had enough time respond, I put my hands on his chest and used all my strength (which wasn't much) to push him in the water.

"Whoa!" he shouted as he lost his balance.

He fell backwards into the cool water, slightly splashing me as he hit the surface. I didn't bother holding in my laughter as I watched. He popped back up within a few seconds, hair and everything else dripping wet. He did not look impressed.

"Oops?" I shrugged innocently.

"You know," he started as he swam to the edge of them dock.

This time I swallowed nervously.

He effortlessly lifted himself out of the water, his muscles rippling against the beads of water that dripped off his body. I couldn't help but bite my lip as I not so discretely ogled at him. Suddenly I was very hot, and not because of the weather.

"you are so going to regret that." He finished as he walked towards me.

He had a hungry look in his eyes and it kind of scared me. I tried to move away but his sudden dominance had me frozen in place.

"Austin?" I croaked out.

"Want to know what an even better friend would do?" he asked.

The way his wet tee shirt stuck to his skin was really distracting.

"Austin don't you dare." I warned.

I put my hand out, stopping him when he was arm's length away from me. Silly me to think that'd stop him. All in one motion he effortlessly picked me up and threw me over his shoulder as if I weighed nothing.

"Austin!" I gasped.

I was upside down, facing his back and pressed tightly against his sopping wet body. I twisted my body, fighting hard against his grip but did absolutely nothing on my part.

"Put me down!" I demanded.

I felt his whole body flex beneath me as he laughed.

"Hey, I'm just being a good friend." he laughed.

And before I had a chance to protest back he dropped me in. I closed my eyes and held my breath, bracing myself as I became surrounded by water. The rush of ice cold against my burning hot body put me in a daze. When I resurfaced, there stood Austin with a smirk plastered on his face.

"Oops?" he teased, mimicking me from just a few minutes ago.

I burst into laughter with him. After all, I had it coming. Without warning, he peeled off his shirt, revealing his beautifully sculpted body and I think I died a little at the sight. Was it really necessary to take his shirt off? I mean it's already wet. But hey, I'm not complaining. I watched him jump back in beside me, soaking me ever more if that were possible.

He resurfaced just inches away from me. He could just touch where we were, still hovering above me even in the lake. Curse my shortness. He must have sensed my struggled because a small gasp left my mouth as his hands firmly held just about my hips. My hands instinctively gripped his bare shoulders, supporting myself a bit better.

"You ok?" he asked.

"Perfect." I smiled.

Suddenly he pulled me in closer to him, almost closing the barely there gap between us. My hands slipped behind his neck and my breath caught in my throat as I tried to register what was happening. My stomach felt like it was on a rollercoaster. How'd we get so close so fast? My heart felt like it was going a mile a minute it was beating so fast. I lost track of all my thoughts as he locked eyes with mine. Why does something so wrong feel so right?

"Ally." He breathed.

His lips were so close to mine. Dangerously close. His breath was hot on my neck and his grip on me had tightened. This felt way too good. I ran my fingers through his delicate wet hair, giving myself more time to understand that this was no dream. That same hungry look was in his eyes again, only this was a different kind of hunger. And then I saw him start to move his lips closer to mine.

Oh no. Ally, pull yourself together! As badly as I want this, I can't. And I want this so bad. I just can't let him cheat. I'll still be just his friend after we kiss. His lips were just millimeters from mine now, but I had to stop them.

Without thinking I dunked his head under water. I panicked ok. His grip on me loosened and I started swimming away as fast as I could.

"Catch me if you can!" I shouted as I pulled myself up onto the dock, taking his shirt with me.

He had almost already caught up as I tried to run away.

"Haven't you learned that I always win?" he challenged from a little ways behind me.

I didn't answer that but it was mostly because I was too busy processing what just happened. This can't be real. I have to be dreaming because only in dreams do people like Austin Moon (almost) kiss you. And he in fact almost kissed me. Clearly he can't think of me as just his friend anymore. There's no way. Best friends don't (almost) kiss. The horrible part is that we would have kissed if I didn't stop it. That's what you get for doing the right thing. His lips have never been as tempting as they were just a few moments ago. He wanted to kiss me, even after knowing he's with Cassidy. That's really good news for me right? This is what I want. That's what all the flirting and teasing and being confident were for! But it's all happening so fast. How do I know it wasn't just the heat of the moment kind of thing? I have so many questions and zero answers. And I don't much but I do know one thing, and that's that I better hurry up if I don't want Austin to catch me and throw me in the water. Again.
