The next day, Lillian was happily eating the chicken noodle soup that her brother had bought for her. She watched him packing up her belongings into a bag.
"Brother… I have one thing to ask," Lillian said.
"What is it?" Phillip replied.
"What is that one boy's name from yesterday?"
"Boy? He should be call a young man but are you talking about Kana or Ash?"
"Um Blue eyes… brown hair… kind smile?"
"Hmmm I heard this description before. You mean Ash?" Phillip replied.
"Is that his name? Ash?"
Phillip nodded. He zipped the bag and kicked it under Lillian's bed.
"What about him?"
"You know… He is so nice and kind to me. I like him…" Lillian said as her cheeks turned red.
Phillip stared at his sister without blinking.
"Are you telling me that you like him?" Phillip questioned.
Lillian smiled and nodded her head.
"You mean the 'like like' kind of thing?" he added.
Again, the sister smiled and nodded her head. He put his palm in front of Lillian's face and shook his head.
"No no no! Stop! Don't you dare tell me that you like a boy the first moment you see him. In fact, you just lose all of your memories which mean you don't know him."
"But you said he is my friend, right? I know him! I know it is him in the pictures that popped in my head! Those must be my memories of him!"
"Ah ah! Hold up!" Phillip stopped Lillian. "Are you saying you remember him but not your own brother?"
She nodded. Phillip put his hand on his chest, where his heart located, and began his exaggeration.
"Ohhhhhhhhhh! I feel soooooo hurt! How could you, Lillian?! I've been taking care of you all of these years but you chose to remember your lover instead of your handsome, smart, kind, charming, funny, and great brother?" he complained.
"S-sorry… brother," Lillian apologized.
"Well, fine. At least you remember something. I'm glad."
"But brother, did I love Ash a lot?"
Phillip let out a big sigh and shrugged his shoulder.
"I don't know who you loved, Lillian. You never told me about those things."
"Then what did I ever tell you about?" Lillian tilted her head.
"Two boys that are very close to you."
"Who are they?"
"Ash and Cam."
"Ash and Cam are close to me? How close was I and them?"
Phillip sighed and replied, "I don't know. It's up to you to regain your memories and remember them."
"But who do you think I love the most? It must be Ash, right?"
"Sorry Lilsis, I cannot tell you those things. I won't be the one that decide who you loved. It got to be you."
Lillian tried her best to squeeze out any of her past memories. She felt like she had loved Ash before but who was Cam? His name was familiar but she could not ring a bell to it.
"Oh yeah. Brother, you and Ash were talking about the word 'wedding'. What does that mean?" Lillian asked.
"Wedding? It's a great thing that ever happens to anyone in their life time. Wedding is a time when two lovers make a great promise that they will love each other and stay together forever. That is, until their heart stop beating," Phillip explained.
Lillian smiled brightly and clapped her hands. "I want to have a wedding!" she declared.
"You will when you find someone who loves you more than himself."
"Do you think it will be with Ash?"
The brother studied her for a bit. He was confused with every thing his sister was saying. As he recalled, during the accident, Cam cared for Lillian more than anybody else; even more than her own brother. That was why Phillip assumed they became a good couple but why did she said she was in love with Ash now? The doctor said she lost her memories yet she was slowly remembering her moments with Ash. If she did love him back then, then what was Cam to her? Everything just didn't seem to go together. Phillip let out a long sigh.
"I can't answer that. I'm not going to be the one to decide who you will marry," he answered.
"Oh. Okay. I have one more question. What if during a wedding, that person did not mean what he promised?" The sister frowned.
"Then that person is a promise breaker and a liar."
"What's a liar?"
"A person who lies does not say what he or she really means. That person is a liar," Phillip replied.
"Liar is a bad person."
"Mhm-hmm"
There was a couple of knocks on the door before Ash entered with a colorful bouquet in his hand. He happily waved at the twin and smiled.
"How are you feeling, Lillian?" Ash asked.
Lillian felt her cheeks turning red. She grabbed a nearby pillow and hid her face. Her heart pounded rapidly as she took a glance of Ash behind her pillow.
"Ohhh you know, she's doing good, except for her brother here," Phillip complained.
"That's good to hear… I guess?" Ash chuckled and turned to Lillian. He handed her his colorful flowers that were held together by a purple ribbon. "This is for you. Do you like it?" He smiled.
Lillian hesitantly nodded her head and returned his smile. She gazed at the bouquet and observed one specific flower that gave her a familiar warm yet sad feeling. It was pink with countless wavy petals.
"Pink… c...ca…" Lillian mumbled.
"Is something wrong?"
"N-no… I am fine…"
"Do you want to go for a walk in the hospital park?" Ash asked.
"Y-yes… I would love to."
The girl placed her bouquet carefully on the bed and followed after Ash. They stepped out into a large field of grass. A concrete path cut through the green ground and split into two that went in different directions. Many delightful colors of flowers were set along the sidewalk. White benches were randomly displayed inside the shadow of palm trees. Patients were walking around the park as they enjoyed the peaceful place.
"This hospital sure has a beautiful park," Ash said.
Lillian stared at his smile that somehow brought warm and close feelings to her. Yet something else felt odd. She tucked on Ash shirt with her cheeks slowly turning red.
"What's wrong? Are you feeling ill?" Ash asked.
"N-no… I-.." Lillian stammered. She fidgeted the tip of her foot to the ground as she dug through her brain for the right words to tell Ash what she had remembered. "I-I need to tell you something!"
Ash widened his eyes at Lillian's vigorous voice. Then he let out little chuckle.
"It must be important if you shout it like that. What do you need to tell me?"
"I-I know you! I remember you! A-and I know that I loved you!" Lillian confessed.
Author's Notes: The last line Lillian said literally took me three days to come up with it. I couldn't find the right line for awhile so I procrastinated xc.
