Hey everyone, hope you all had an awesome weekend because I did! I had loads of fun at camp but I'm glad to be back and writing for you guys. You can expect A LOT of updates from here on out as I really want to finish this story before the end of August. And just in case you haven't figured it out, the next chapters aren't going to be so cute and fluffy for a while. Things will be turning sour in the story for a bit :( But do not fret because there will be a happy ending!

"Guys, there's something I've been meaning to tell you." I started nervously.

It's been a day since the whole Cassidy thing happened and I've been avoiding both Austin and her at all costs. It wasn't hard to do that though because Cassidy was basically glued to his arm and hasn't let go. She is purposely flaunting him in front of me and I hate it. I can't stand it anymore.

"What is it?" Bea asked.

"Yesterday, after Megan left, Cassidy came to pay me a little visit. Long story short she threatened that if I didn't stay away from Austin then she would make my life a living hell." I told them.

"Wait, you're just telling us this now?!" Bea asked.

"I KNEW IT!" Megan shouted.

"I know. I really should have listened to you guys. I can't believe I fell for her fakeness." I admitted.

"Oh Ally, I'm so sorry." Bea murmured.

"That evil, no good, heartless, spoilt bitch!" Megan spat.

"Ok, all those things may be true, but do we really need to call her such mean things aloud?" I asked.

"You know I would be sorry but Ally, SHE THREATENED YOU FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!" she yelled again.

"The next time I see Cassidy I swear she won't be leaving camp with a pretty face." Bea stated.

"I agree. And her face isn't the only thing we can mess up!" Megan added.

"Guys, as much as I would love to see Cassidy get what she deserves, violence is not the answer. We need a plan, but one that doesn't involve killing her." I said.

"C'mon Ally can't you just let me throw one punch at her?" Megan asked.

"No." I replied.

"Ugh, fine!" she groaned.

"We do need a plan though." Bea piped up.

"What am I going to do?" I asked them.

"Don't worry Ally, we'll figure this out. We always do." Bea reassured.

"What else did she say to you? We need exact details." Megan said.

"She said that if I told anyone about it that she would make sure the rest of my time here won't be pleasant and that she will tell the whole camp about my crush on Austin and probably other things a lot worse. So I'm risking a lot just telling you guys this right now. That's why I didn't say anything for a while." I told them.

"Well we need to tell someone, the camp leaders especially." Bea said.

"No way! Everyone here loves Cassidy. Nobody will believe us and it'll only make things worse for me." I argued.

"Ok, well we need to do something! I'm not going to let her win!" Megan exclaimed.

"What about Austin? He'd believe you, right?" Bea suggested.

"There's a problem there too. If Cassidy sees me do the slightest as look at him she will ruin my life, so I don't think talking to him is an option. And I don't think he'd believe me either, he likes her way too much to even think she'd be so evil." I frowned.

"Well you may not be able to talk to Austin, but Austin can still talk to you, right?" Bea asked.

"Yeah I guess but I don't think I should really risk that." I answered.

"Guys I really think there's no way in winning this." I worried nervously.

"Don't say that. Cassidy doesn't own you, ok." Megan protested.

"It's really sweet that you guys care, but unless they break up I can't be friends or anything else with Austin. There's just no way out of this." I sighed in defeat.

"Ally," Bea started.

"I don't want to talk about this anymore ok. Besides we better head to dinner, I don't want to be late for another meal." I said.

We made our way to the dining hall and when we walked in I saw Austin and Cassidy sitting together. Things we already hard enough, but seeing them all lovey dovey put a new wound in my heart. How did things get so awful? Just two days ago Austin and I had gotten so close and now Cassidy is ripping us apart.

We sat as far away from them as possible. The last I needed was to barf up my dinner from watching them together. I couldn't help but stare at them every so often though. You have no idea how much I wish I was in Cassidy's place.

Every time Austin or Cassidy were mentioned during dinner I made them change the subject. I just really didn't want to talk about it. And it was only a matter of time before Austin would come up and try to talk to me. It's inevitable. This stupid mess has me going crazy! I'm even worrying about the idea of him trying to talk to me now. I don't know how things can get worse.

One of the countless times I looked at them during dinner, Austin just so happened to lock eyes with mine. He smiled and threw me a little wave at me. I have to say it made my heart feel a little more whole when he did that. Thankfully Cassidy wasn't looking when he did those things, so I allowed myself to smile and wave back, blushing a little as I did so. He was too far away to see the shade of pink on my face and I was thankful for that. The moment lasted a mere second but that was more than I expected to share with him. I'll take what I can get.

If only he knew everything. He'd dump her so fast! And then maybe we could be together. But I know by now that wishing and hoping for things are far too naïve. I'm just hurting myself even more thinking up these silly thoughts. I can't believe I'm saying this but I can't wait for camp to be over.

When dinner was over I did my best to rush out of the dining hall as fast as I could. I don't even know why I tried though because Austin caught up to me within two minutes.

Curse my insanely short legs and his abnormally long ones.

"Hey." He smiled as he caught up to my pace.

"Hey." I nervously smiled back.

"I feel like I haven't seen you in days." He said as we walked.

"Probably because you haven't." I pointed out.

"Always have to be technically right, don't you?" he laughed, shaking his head a little.

His laugh wasn't helping the situation right now.

"So where's Cassidy?" I finally asked.

If she knew I was talking to him I'd be dead meat in seconds.

"She went back to her cabin for a bit before tonight's activity, so I thought, what a perfect time to walk and catch up with my best friend." he said.

"And speaking of tonight's activity," he started.

"Do you want to be my partner for the scavenger hunt?" he asked hopefully.

Great now I've got turn him down too! I don't want to break his heart like this is breaking mine.

"I'm sorry but I already promised Megan and Bea that I would be on their team for the scavenger hunt." I told him cautiously.

"Oh, that's ok." He said as he tried to hide his frown.

I didn't like lying to him but it's what I have to do.

"But next time you and I are going to be a team!" he decided.

"And do I get a say in this?" I asked teasingly.

"Nope." He laughed.

"Great." I fake cheered.

We walked in silence for a bit and I tried my best to look at anything but him. But as I was avoiding his eyes, he wouldn't stop looking at me.

"Ally, are you ok? You seem like you have something on your mind." He asked, breaking the silence.

Oh you have no idea what's on my mind.

"Of course I'm fine, why wouldn't I be?" I lied.

"I'm just making sure." He told me.

"Well thank you for caring so much." I smiled.

He didn't say anything but he did smile back.

"I'll see you later ok." I smiled again.

"Of course."

He pulled me in for an unexpected hug good bye, practically crushing my bones even though I knew he would never intentionally hurt me. I squeezed him back just as tight though. Who knows when I'll get to hug him like this again. His scents, his touch, his everything made me want to hug him forever. We slowly parted and I stood there to watch him walk off the other way.

I let out the biggest sigh. Oh god.

I made my way to Megan and Bea's cabin to get ready for tonight. I'm going to have to keep lying to him and it breaks my heart to think like that. He's going to suspect things are up soon though and that really worries me. He already thought something was wrong just a few minutes ago. I can't pull this off.

I arrived at their door and knocked three times on it to signal I was here.

"Hey." Bea greeted as she opened the door.

"Hi." I sighed as I walked in.

I flopped down onto one of their beds, sighing again.

"Tell us all about it." Megan said.

"I tried to get out of the dining hall before he could do anything as look at me but you all saw how fast he caught up!" I started.

"Uh huh." Bea nodded.

"Then he just had to go and be all cute and flirty without knowing it because he's a guy and wouldn't know if an apocalypse was happening even if it was right in front of his eyes!" I groaned.

"Then what?" Megan asked.

"Then I had to lie to him and I felt awful. And he just looked so sad even though he didn't want me to see it." I told them.

"Anything else?" Bea asked.

"Yeah! He decided that hugging me would be a good idea! Like he can't just hug me and then expect me to not hug back. Cassidy is going to kill me, literally." I exclaimed.

"Wow." was all they could say.

"I know. I'm a hot mess, ok." I groaned.

"What Cassidy doesn't know won't kill her." Megan said.

"Actually from past experience, she will know!" I exclaimed.

"Maybe we just need to dig up some dirt on her." Bea suggested.

"Bea, that's a really good idea." Megan said in agreement.

"Just because she has stuff on Ally doesn't mean we can't get stuff on her." Bea stated.

"I don't know guys. I don't want to stoop to her level." I warned.

"You don't have to, but there's nothing that says we can't." Megan smirked.

"I still think this is a bad idea. You guys could get in a lot of trouble if you get caught doing something like this. And I need my best friends more than I need pointless information on some evil Malibu Barbie." I said.

"Well then if you won't fight her back what are you going to do?" Bea asked.

"Nothing. I don't have any other choice." I said.

"No, you are not going to nothing about this! I won't let you." Megan argued.

"I'm with Megan on this one." Bea said.

"If you aren't going to fight back then you have to show her that this isn't bothering you. You have to act confident at all times, even if you aren't. Show her that you're not scared of her threats." Megan suggested.

"That's not half bad." I replied.

"It's brilliant!" Bea exclaimed.

"At least it's something until we figure out a plan you actually will allow us to do!" Megan groaned.

"I'm sorry I'm such a good a person." I laughed.

"Can I just say that Austin is the stupidest guy on earth and if he seriously likes Cassidy over you then he has gone mental. How can he not see that she's a fake!" Bea exclaimed.

"I don't know. But we all know that for some horrible reason, he really likes her, well the fake her. He won't believe me unless he has actual proof and even then he might be skeptical." I said.

"What do you see in him again?" Megan teased.

"Do you really want me to answer that because the list probably goes on forever." I joked.

Well maybe I was being serious.

"We better get going. The scavenger hunt is going to start soon." Bea reminded.

I pulled myself up off the bed and we made our way to the field. Tomorrow the younger campers would be arriving and that means we have to help out and teach one class to them. So tonight is kind of like a last celebratory activity without them.

We arrived in no time and of course Austin and Cassidy were already there. It's like Cassidy knew I was looking because she pulled him closer and kissed his cheek. Yuck. I think I was going to be sick.

I looked away before I could see anything else. I hated this so much. Life was so much better until she decided to show up.

"Ally, don't look now but Austin and Cassidy and a few others are coming this way." Megan warned.

Oh great. Things can actually get worse than they already are.

"Ready to lose?" Austin asked as he walked up to us.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that." Bea said.

Cassidy was giving me the biggest glare and I couldn't help but feel trapped.

"Austin I forgot my sweater over by the benches, could you go get it for me please?" Cassidy asked, batting her eyelashes.

Her arms were all over him like he was some kind of prize. Let's just say I didn't stop myself from rolling my eyes at her.

"Sure thing, babe. Be right back." He said.

Great, now he's going to leave me alone with the wicked witch of Miami. This is going to be awful. She pretended to smile and wave at him as he walked away until she was sure he was out of ear shot. It's insane how fake one person can be.

"I hope you're staying away from Austin like I told you to." she practically hissed.

"And I hope you get an even spray tan next time you're at the salon." Megan snickered.

"Whatever. Trash me all you want but we all know who's in control here. I can have Austin turn against you a lot faster you think." She glared.

"You know what? You're a real bitch." Megan spat.

"Oh honey, tell me something I don't know." Cassidy smirked.

"That's it!" Megan shouted furiously.

She lunged forward towards Cassidy, reaching to grab onto her and do who knows what. This caused a little shriek from Cassidy. Bea and I held Megan back before she could do anything as touch a hair on Cassidy's pretty little head.

"You better tell your friends to watch it." Cassidy threatened me.

"You deserve every bit of what's coming to you." Bea warned.

"Sweetie this isn't my first rodeo. I'm still the reigning champion and I never lose one these fights." She gave a wicked laugh.

For some reason I knew she wasn't bluffing, and quite frankly that scared me a lot.

As if on cue, Austin arrived back with her sweater.

"Here you go." He smiled as he handed it to her, placing his arm around her.

"Thanks." She said in her usual cutesy voice.

She made sure to glare at me before giving him a quick peck on the lips. It took all I had not to gag. But what made me feel even sicker to my stomach, was seeing him so happy to laugh and kiss and hold her. It's not even a real happiness and he doesn't know it. He may never know it.

"Alright campers, listen up!" One of the leaders shouted to get our attention.

Thank goodness because another minute standing here watching them and I'd be beyond helpless.

"You all know the rules. The first team to find all these items on the list wins. Of course we all know there's no special prize but you should all still try to win. So on your marks get set, go!" One of the leaders cheered.

We all dispersed into different directions, looking for the first thing on our list. Bea, Megan and I didn't really try to find the items on our list though. We, especially Megan, were a little angry.

"Ally, if you don't slap her I will!" Megan shouted.

"I knew she was no good from the start! And now look where trying to be nice got us!" She continued.

"Megan calm down." I said.

"No! I'm seriously so done with her crap. I have little patience left, and once that runs out I'm fighting back." She exclaimed.

"Let's just not do anything senseless ok." Bea told her.

"No promises on that one but I will promise that she isn't going to be the reigning champion for much longer." Megan said in all seriousness.

"How about we focus on doing this stupid scavenger hunt fist and then figuring out how you're going to slap Cassidy into the next state." I suggested.

"Not that you're going to." Bea reminded lightly.

There was a moment of silence and quite a few moments of Bea and I staring her down before she spoke.

"Fine." She said in defeat.

"Now c'mon we're already really far behind." Bea said as we started walking again.

If you didn't know this was camp, you'd probably mistake for an episode of a soap opera. And my life was seriously starting to feel like one.
