Author's Notes: Oooohhh Honestly, I was so excited to write this chapter. To me, it had a plot twist ending. Hehehe.
Next Wednesday morning, Lillian woke up with a light headache. She scratched her head as she scanned her surroundings.
"You're awake!" Phillip exclaimed. "Do you remember anything from yesterday?"
The patient looked at the ceiling for awhile and shook her head. Her mind was completely blank, as if she had never lived yesterday. But there was this feeling that tightened her chest. Something felt important but she couldn't remember it. Phillip sighed and packed up the bags.
"Go fresh up and get change. You get to be discharge today."
"Oh okay…" Lillian replied softly. "Brother…? Was there something important I needed to remember?"
Phillip gazed at the girl with a sympathetic look. She became so clueless and confused with her memories that she hadn't showed her genuine smile for a long time. His heart broke to see her that way but what could he do? Nothing. The best thing to do for her now was answering honestly.
"Yes." he replied.
"I see…"
His sister left the room without saying another word.
A bright smile appeared on Laney's face. She had been looking forward for today, when she would become a bride and married to Cam. Her dream had finally come true. She sat in front of the mirror, staring at her beautiful reflection, as the maids gave her a makeover. They curled the bride's long blonde hair and applied make-up on her face. Then she put herself in a white wedding gown with white flower patterns on it.
"You looked so beautiful, young mistress!"the maid said.
"Why, thank you."
Laney spun around as he dress twirled with her movement. She smiled, feeling like she was the luckiest person in the world. All of a sudden, Howard burst in and stared at his daughter with wide eyes.
"Oh my! I got such a beautiful daughter!" Howard exclaimed.
"Thank you, daddy!"
He ran to give her a big hug and sobbed a little.
"I can't believe my Laney is going to be a wife! Time go by so fast! I'm going to miss you sooooooo much!"
"I'm going to miss you too, Daddy. I'll come and visit you!"
"Remember to give me a lot of grandchildren!"
They brightened up the room with their laughter.
"It's time to walk down the aisle, young mistress," The maid alerted.
The father and his daughter linked their arms together and exited the room.
Lillian sat on her bed, all dressed up, staring blankly into space. She tilted her head when she saw the cover of the newspaper. Phillip followed her gaze and widened his eyes. The picture on the newspaper showed Cam and that Blondy linking their arms together. The caption said, "Cam and Laney are finally getting married after four years of being in a relationship! Everyone is excited for their wedding that is coming this Wednesday, Spring 16 at MountainTop church! "
"Damn the newspaper and nosy paparazzi!" Phillip cussed under his breath.
"Brother…? Do you know who this person is?" Lillian asked as she pointed to Cam.
"Y-yeah… He's having a wedding today."
"Looks like he found someone to love forever."
Phillip chewed on his lip. The guilt were going to eat him up any moment now. Even though, she didn't exactly remember who Cam was, her face was miserable and sad.
"Well! We gotta pack up and leave now!" Phillip exclaimed, trying to brighten up the mood.
"Oh okay…"
His sister stared at the bouquet and grabbed only the pink carnations along.
"You only like that flower?" Phillip asked.
"I am not sure. I just feel like I need it."
"Alright… Let's go."
Together, they arrived at the train station, waiting for the right stop. Not once had Lillian spoken a word. Phillip did try to get a conversation going but she only stayed silent. All she ever did was staring at the pink carnations in her hand.
"Brother… can we go to their wedding…?" She finally spoke. Though, it wasn't the words Phillip wanted to hear.
"S-sorry, lil'sis, I don't know where it is."
Lillian grasped her brother's arm stared at him with her sorrowful eyes.
"It is in MountainTop church…" She replied.
"I—I don't know where that is either…"
The girl let her arm fell back to her side. She tightened her grip on the flowers and frowned.
"I want to see him…"
"Who?" Phillip questioned. His heart was pumping in his chest as he waited for her reply.
"Cam. I-… I-… do not remember him well but he… he is someone that means a lot to me, right..?"
Phillip couldn't take this intense moment anymore. It was hard to breathe with his sister being so devastated about her confused memories. Now, she had started to remember who Cam was.
"Please, let me go to his wedding. I-.. I can rely on my guts to find where he is! Please…" Lillian begged.
At the same moment, their train arrived. Phillip stared at the train then back to his sister. The decision he was going to make now would decide the whole entire future.
"W-we shouldn't… Let's get in the train…" Phillip insisted.
Lillian grabbed her brother's arm again and frowned. She looked at him with her puppy dog eyes that he could never resist.
"Please… I really want to see his wedding…"
As guilty as Phillip felt, he knew keeping his sister away from Cam was the wrong choice. They were meant to be together. Who was he to destroy that? After thinking for a moment, Phillip nodded.
"I lied… I know where the church is. Let's go!" Phillip said. He held Lillian's hand and pulled her along with him
"Laney Ria, do you take Cam Kamiru as your husband, to love forever?" Nathan, the priest, announced.
Laney blushed and smiled at Cam. She had been waiting for this moment since forever. It finally happened. All her efforts on Cam were worth it.
"I do," Laney replied.
"Cam Kamiru, do you take Laney Ria as your wife, to love forever?"
Cam stared at Laney who was smiling so brightly. This was it. This was the moment where two words would decide his whole entire life. He took a glance at the crowd that were waiting for him to answer. Their eyes were on him and their ears were open. He inhaled and chose his final answer.
Lillian was running, following Phillip's direction. Suddenly, warm tears streamed down her cheeks at the same moment Cam said,
"I do."
THE END?
