Disclaimer: I do not own any Harvest Moon's characters.
Author's Notes: Hehehe. So, as you read along, the chapter might get cheesy and cliche, I'm sorry I couldn't come up with a better idea. I just need to get over this event and move on to the next.
Cam paced back and forth in his room. His mind only filled with the possibilities of Lillian's danger. It had been a few hours after he was escorted back the mansion. Even at this age, a young master could not get the exact freedom he wanted. Several securities were guarding the gate and his front door. Surprisingly, the Kamiru's families had yet to return to the mansion after such a disappointed wedding. Cam sighed as he stared through the opened window of a scenery of the colorful garden, where he and Lillian had shared a pleasant memory together. There, by the flowerbed, stood a tall girl with long black hair in a maid outfit, black with frilly white lace apron. The young master couldn't get a clear view of who she was but surely, she was holding something in both of her arms. Cam watched her movement carefully as she raised her arm and swung it as if she was throwing a ball. Before he knew it, a pebble, the size of a bottle cap, smacked him squarely in the nose. Cam groaned as he pushed himself back up to the original position. The girl ran toward his window in panic, making her figure clearer.
"Nori…?" What were you doing?" Cam asked.
"S-sorry young master! I-I wanted to talk to you and asked you what happened to you and Lillian! I was worried about you two!" Nori replied.
"You could have just entered my room if you were curious."
"The guards wouldn't let me in. They let no one in except for Mistress Kamiru or her attendants…"
Before Cam could reply, a few gentle knocks appeared on his door.
"What?" Cam answered.
A young woman, about his age, with wavy orange hair in a blue and white stripe maid outfit entered. She smiled then bowed her head to the young master.
"Good afternoon, my young master," she greeted.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Felicity. I will be your new maid."
For a Kamiru maid, she was surely different than the other. But for her to enter Cam's room without any difficulties only raised the young master suspicion.
"And what is your reason for being here?" Cam asked, putting his hands in his pant pockets.
"To serve you, young master."
"Or are you here for another purpose?"
He glared at the new maid and slowly walking toward her. She only stood tall and remained her calm smile.
"For what reason did you think that I have another purpose besides serving you, young master?" Felicity replied.
Cam kept on stepping toward her to a very small distance that the maid had to back away a few steps until she was against the wall, perfectly where he wanted her. He put his hand on the wall and leaned his face close to her, observing every possible emotion on her face.
Felicity had not expected this event to occur. Her heart went restless as soon as the young master face got close to her, giving her a clear view of his beautiful emerald, green eyes. Perhaps, they were the best thing about his appearance. The deep and brilliant of the deep green ocean could almost calm a person heart in any situation. Then there was his beautiful blonde hair that sleeked against the nape of his neck. His bangs are parted, leaving a portion covering his middle forehead. At this rate, Felicity would lose all her coolness and fell for his tricks.
"The reason is that… you're in my room which increases my suspicion," Cam answered.
"Is there something wrong with a maid entering you room, young master?" the girl replied.
"No, it's just that the other maids couldn't enter my room except for you."
The mood reflecting in Cam's eyes suddenly changed. The new maid could clearly see it. The way that those eyes glared at her made her heart uneasy.
"Felicity.. if that is your name… tell me where that woman hid Lillian," Cam demanded.
"What made you think I know where she is?"
"You're one of the servants for that woman, aren't you?"
"I don't know who you're talking about, young master."
The young master then pressed his hand on the maid's throat. He became more fierce and unsettled as he listened to Felicity's replies.
"Liar. You're lying to me. Now tell me where she is before my hand suffocates you," he demanded.
"You seem forceful with your action, young master. I know you won't be able to hurt me," the maid protested. She pushed Cam away from her and sighed. "You're too soft, young master. If you continue to be like that, you will never get back what you want."
"So you know where Lillian is?"
Felicity straightened her outfit then shrugged her shoulder.
"I guess you wanted me to say yes. Then yes," she replied.
"Where is she now?"
"I can't tell you that, young master. My job is to take care of you, that's all."
"W-wait!" a voice interrupted the conversation.
Cam turned toward the window to find Nori arms desperately hanging onto the sill. She poked her head up and jumped onto Felicity.
"H-hey! Who are you?!" Felicity screamed.
"Is Lillian hurt? Did you do something to her?! Where is she?! Tell me!" Nori spluttered.
Cam watched Nori pressuring the new maid into a confession. He also couldn't get over the fact that she just climbed a two story building and entered his room through the window. She could be pretty fearless and strong when she felt frustrated or anxious.
"G-GET OFF OF ME!" Felicity demanded. She desperately tried to escape the stranger's grasp by that only made it worse.
"No! Not until you tell me where my friend is!" Nori protested.
"Why should I?"
"Please… she just woke up from a four years coma with no memories. I don't want anything else to happen to her. So please, tell me where she is!"
"You look pathetic begging for sympathy."
Felicity pushed Nori off after the grasp had loosened. She patted any speck of dust off her blue and white maid outfit. Then a grin spread on her lip.
"A maid like you dare to commit such an action toward me and young master? Maybe Mistress Kamiru should kick you out of this place for making that kind of embarrassment. You're a disgrace as a Kamiru maid," Felicity said. She smirked at the pitiful maid trembling on the ground.
"No, you can't say that…" Nori replied softly, "As much as I love working here, I quit!" The maid ripped off her name tag off of her outfit and threw it the floor. She let out a little laugh as she cracked her knuckles. "I guess you don't like looking at my soft side… then I'll show you the other."
"Cam…" Nori called. "What do you think we should do to her?"
"Duc tapes finally get to be used," Cam replied, grinning.
"H-hey W-what are you two—!"
"Miss Felicity and Young Master?! Is something wrong in there?!" The security guard called from the other side of the door.
"Cam! I found several keys in her pocket!" Nori whispered.
"Good, maybe that's the key to Lillian's place. Let's get out of here!"
"MMMUHH MHANN MMMOOHH!"
"Felicity? Young Master? Is anything okay in there?!" The guards pounded on the door, trying to get it open.
Nori stepped on the window sill and smiled at the blonde boy.
"I'm not your maid anymore so we're friend, right?" The boy nodded. "A two story building isn't that tall. We can jump off this height and stay alive if we're lucky."
"W-what? What do you mean by 'lucky'?"
"Cam, it means do or die."
With that, the girl hopped off the window and landed on the ground. Cam's pulse fastened just by looking down. The poundings on the door were getting harder that he could hear it started to crack. With a big breath, he jumped off to the bottom floor, landing on his side.
"Yo- I mean.. Cam! Are you alright?!"
"Y-yeah…" Cam groaned.
"Well, stand up! We have to get going before the securities come after us!"
"B-but how? They're guarding the gate as well."
"But they're not guarding the back door…" Nori whispered, giggling at the same time.
"What back door…?"
"C'mon, I'll show you."
Nori led Cam to the back of the mansion, finding the wall that acted as a great barrier, was covered with ivy. She parted the plants, reviewing a small wooden door.
"Your grandpa was the one who designed this mansion. He created this door for an emergency escape if anything happened at the front gate. Well, but not for this kind of situation…"
Cam's eyes widened. He never knew his grandpa would keep such a secret from the family members. The old man sure was a mysterious person.
"We're talking too much! Let's go find Lillian!" Nori exclaimed.
"We should go look for her brother. He might be able to find where Lillian location is."
"Alright!"
