Chapter Twenty-One: The Second E in Spectre

Ron and Hermione had reported the attack upon them to both Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall. Both of them were shocked, appalled and disappointed by what had happened. It was decided that the five people who had attacked Ron and Hermione would get detention for three months for attacking prefects.

When they returned to the common room, they saw that Seamus and Dean were playing cards. They approached them and told them to give a message to Harry, they agreed and Hermione gave them a letter to give to Harry before going up to Ron's room.

When they got there, Ron said, 'Why do we have to get up so early on a Sunday just to meet the gits?'

'To annoy them, of course,' answered Hermione.

'And exactly how are you going to wake me up that early on Sunday?' asked Ron.

'Well, if we have a day of rest tomorrow, we can stay up all night making love,' replied Hermione.

'An all-nighter, eh?' he asked.

'Yes, that way you don't go to sleep and I don't have to wake you, well unless we wear each other out, of course,' said Hermione.

'I love you, Hermione, and now I'd like to show you how much …' said Ron, before kissing her and making love to her until they fell asleep.

After a long Saturday night of debauchery for Ron and Hermione, they met up with Harry, Neville, Fred, George and Ginny in the same disused classroom in which Harry had ended their friendships at the end of their fourth year. Of course, Ron and Hermione had a plan.

They took seats behind the teacher's desk and waited.

As they waited, Ron's hand found Hermione's knee as she crossed her legs. Ron saw that she was wearing a short skirt, it wasn't a micro mini by any means, but the skirt rode up to reveal plenty more thigh for him to enjoy and caress. He noticed that she was blushing as he caressed her, so he whispered words of love into her ear, and telling her that she was beautiful, smart and sexy. Hermione's blush disappeared as she dropped a loving kiss on his lips. However, they were interrupted by the arrival of the gang of five.

'You're late,' Ron growled at them.

'So what; just give us our wands back!' said Ginny.

'All in good time, brat,' said Ron, as Hermione took out a piece of parchment.

'Now, if you want your wands back, you are going to sign this parchment,' began Ron, 'this parchment is a promise that neither one of you will ever try to attack Hermione or me in any way ever again, and yes, it is magically binding, also it prevents you from getting somebody else to do your dirty work for you.'

'Is that an ordinary quill?' asked Harry.

'Yes, it is,' replied Hermione.

Harry then signed the parchment, followed by Neville, then Fred, George and Ginny.

'Right, we've signed your parchment, now give us what's ours,' ordered Ginny.

'Give you? No, I don't think so, sell you is a bit closer,' said Ron.

Harry sighed as if he knew what was coming.

'What do you mean?' asked Fred.

'You will have to buy back your wands, a bit like Potter had to do to get brat's wand back for her,' said Ron.

All eyes widened as they looked at Harry before Ron's next words caused them to look back at him.

'Only now, our prices will be higher than the paltry ten Galleons Potter had to pay out last time. This is due to admin costs and rising prices, you understand, so the twins will need the bag of gold that was Potter's Tri-Wizard winnings.'

Harry and the twins' eyes widened in surprise as they had not expected Ron to know that piece of information, after all, it was between them.

'What, you didn't think I would notice that it was the same bag?' scoffed Ron, 'is that money the reason you two turned on me?'

The twins said nothing.

'Fred, you're first, and your wand will cost you one hundred Galleons!' said Ron.

Again their eyes widened as Ron told them the extortionate price.

'How do I know my wand still works?' he asked as he took out the sack of Galleons.

Ron took out Fred's wand and lit the wand tip with the Lumos spell.

Fred then counted out one hundred Galleons and put them on the table in front of Ron and Hermione, who took the gold and counted it herself before giving Ron an affirmative nod. Ron then passed Fred his wand.

'George, one hundred Galleons for your wand,' said Ron.

George copied his twin before Hermione counted the Galleons and nodded once more. Ron passed George his wand.

Neville stepped forward and said, 'Please, the wand you have was my dad's, but I don't have a lot of money …'

'This wand didn't choose you?' asked Hermione.

'No, my gran just gave it to me to use,' replied Neville.

Hermione whispered into Ron's ear and he nodded before giving Neville back his wand.

'Neville, you need a wand of your own, I know I'm not your favourite person right now, but trust me, a wand that chooses you will work for you better than a wand that chose somebody else,' said Ron. 'I had to use my former-brother Charlie's wand until it broke before I eventually got my own. You'll feel the difference immediately.'

Neville just nodded whilst looking relieved.

'Potter, you're next, your wand will cost you three hundred Galleons,' said Ron.

'That's extortion!' exclaimed Harry.

'Yep, the second E in Spectre,' said Ron, who noticed the looks of non-comprehension on their faces and explained, 'Spectre is an acronym for a fictional organisation in the James Bond novels and films, which I spent a portion of my holiday enjoying, Spectre stands for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion, now I suggest you pay up before I put up the price, Potter, and think yourself lucky that I have not offered your wand to Draco as I suspect I could get ten times the amount I'm charging you.'

Harry realised that Ron was correct. The twins gave him the sack of Galleons to count out the gold he required before he counted out the gold and put it on the table in front of Ron and Hermione, who counted the gold before nodding at Ron, who passed him back his wand.

'I suppose my wand is going to cost more?' said Ginny with a huff.

Ron and Hermione shared a look before Ron spoke again.

'No, it won't cost you a single Knut … as, most unfortunately, it was broken,' said Ron, as he drew a wand that Ginny recognised broken in half.

'You bloody git!' Ginny and the twins shouted at the same time.

'I warned Ginny last time I disarmed her that I could be clumsy, so she only has herself to blame!' said Ron as he stood.

'What is she going to do for classes and her exams?' asked Fred.

'The same thing I did three years ago, suffer in silence and then her older brothers get to put her down for her piss-poor marks!' Ron said angrily before Hermione stood up and took Ron's hand to calm him.

Ron and Hermione then left them alone in the disused classroom five hundred Galleons lighter.

George looked into the sack and said, 'We've only got six Galleons left.'

'I'll get you some more as soon as I can,' said Harry.

Ginny was sitting there with her hands on her head staring at her broken wand in disbelief, as Fred and Neville finally came back to themselves after staring at Hermione's legs as she left hand in hand with Ron.
