A/N: Wow, has it been a while. Bet you all thought I had given up on this story, eh?! I'd like to announce that after my long hiatus / writer's block, I am back in the business. For how long I'm not sure. A day? Ten years? Your guess is as good as mine. Thank you to those who will read this chapter even though the last one was posted so long ago! My readers honestly are the best, and the fact that I still receive reviews on my stories even though I haven't written lately warms my heart. Love you all!

"Um... We didn't do..."
"Rose, for the sake of the patient, I must advice against engaging in... Er... Sexual intercourse with him, especially in a hospital room. Do you understand?"
"No, we really didn't!" Rose insisted, running her fingers through her hair and trying to make sense of all the knots.
The Doctor piped up and winked at Dr. Robersten, "Not yet, anyways."
Dr. Robersten shifted uncomfortably. "I have found a cure for your partner's disease, Rose."
"I prefer her lover. Or maybe significant other. Although, I suppose that sounds a bit formal. Sex buddy? Friend with benefits? No, we're more than friends. You could say we're practically husb-" the Doctor's never-ending mouth met a hand slapped over it. Rose blushed bright red and held her hand their firmly, despite his attempts to move it.
"A solution?" she asked hopefully. "Please, elaborate."
"There's a creature on the planet Tyribon called the Tyribonian Frog," the doctor explained to Rose and the Time Lord next to her with a hand still on his lips. "This frog's blood is the only known cure for the Cupid Fly's bite. In fact, it is only said in legend and in rumor, but it is most definitely his best chance."
"And do you have some of the Tibbybon froggy blood at your hospital by any chance?" Rose inquired.
The Doctor licked her hand and she pulled it away quickly. "It's Tyribonian, not Tibbybon, silly. And it's technically impossible for them to have their blood. The inhabitants of New Earth are not welcome on that planet. They had a war about a hundred years ago, really funny story actually, you see there was this one man by the name of Yurigonihitronortopwear III, and - "
Rose cut off a piece of duck tape from the nearby table and taped it onto the Doctor's mouth, successfully silencing him. He shot her an offended look as he took the tape off.
"Please continue, Dr. Robersten," Rose said politely.
"Your mate is right - " the doctor said before being rudely interrupted.
"I said lover!" the Doctor yelped before getting hit by Rose.
"Inhabitants of New Earth aren't welcome on this planet and we don't have any of the rare frog's blood. I'm afraid it will be up to you to obtain it, Rose. I offer my dearest condolences. However, we would be willing to watch your mate - "
"LOVER!"
"We'd be willing to watch your lover for you while you go in search of this frog if you would like," Dr. Robertsen concluded, obviously relieved that he had finished his explanation.
"Rose," the Doctor began in his most charming voice, staring at his companion, "you can't possibly leave me here at this hospital. I could get hurt. I could hurt myself. There's something in my brain! Who knows what I could do! I could go wild! I could attack people! Surely you can't take that risk? Besides," he moved closer to her, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind, "I'm not sure I could last that long without you. Or you that long without me."
Dr. Robersten cleared his through uncomfortably, "I'll await your decision in the lobby, Rose." He exited the room and left the Doctor and Rose alone.
"Alright, I'll drop you off at Jackie's flat. She'll know what to do with you while I go and get the frog. It shouldn't take long," Rose told the Doctor.
"Your mother Jackie?" the Doctor made a face, scrunching up his nose and narrowing his eyes.
Well, there was one thing that hadn't changed, Rose thought to herself.
"You'll be safe there," Rose tried to explain in the kindest way possible. "Now let's get to the TARDIS."
Once they were in the console room, the Doctor was once again being stubborn. "I'm not driving you to Jackie's flat. No way. Not in a million years. Noooope. Never. Nah. Nada. Not happening. Nope."
Rose rolled her eyes at his obstinance.
"What if... Afterwards we snuggle in the library?" Rose offered to him, and she could tell she had perked his interest by the way he had stopped tugging on his ear and attached his eyes to her.
"In the library?" he asked curiously, like a dog not sure whether or not he should take bait.
"You can read to me, I always love it when you read to me. You have a nice voice," Rose said sincerely with a huge smile.
Realizing that just the offer wouldn't be quite enough she added a bat of her eyelashes and stuck her tongue out between her teeth.
"Just to Jackie's?" he inquired. "And then we can read before we even leave the TARDIS?"
"You might have to turn the landing noise off," she pointed out, "or Jackie will come running when we land. We can snuggle for a little while before we leave. Deal?"
"Mmm," he considered it. "In the library, clothes on?"
Rose internally groaned, "Yes, clothes on."
"What book?"
She shrugged, "Whatever you would like. Maybe Harry Potter?"
The Doctor cocked his head to the side, "What about something like Fifty Shades of Grey?"
"What is that?" Rose frowned, "Never heard of it."
"A bit past your time I suppose. Well it's about this man who enjoys unconventional recreation and then this girl - "
Rose's eyes widened, "I think I would prefer Harry Potter. Let's stick with that."
"Okay!" he said happily, pulling on a TARDIS lever and flying them near Jackie's flat.
After cuddling for two hours (even though Rose had only insisted for doing it for ten minutes at first), the Doctor finally released her and exited the TARDIS doors. Rose managed to convince the Doctor to wait outside her mother's flat for a few minutes while she explained the situation to Jackie.
"So the Cupid Fly bite causes him to be dumbed down in a way... He can only think about one thing all the time. It's rather annoying," Rose said thoughtfully, sitting comfortably on her mother's couch.
"And what does he think of all the time?" Jackie asked.
"Well... Um... sexwithme..." Rose whispered, braiding her hair nervously.
Instead of having the negative reaction that Rose expected, Jackie started laughing uncontrollably. "That's hilarious! How have you handled that the last few days?"
"Oi! It's not funny! He has been totally obnoxious! It's all he ever talks about! He's a totally different person!" Rose couldn't help but chuckle a bit too, after all, her mother's laughter was contagious.
"Sorry, sorry," Jackie said, wiping a tear of laughter from her left eye. "So you want me to watch him while you go and get the cure? I'm not sure if I can handle that either."
"Strap him down to the bed if you need to, just make sure he's comfortable," Rose said.
Jackie stood up. "Show me the poor fellow."
Rose opened the front door to the flat and looked around, frowning when the Doctor wasn't there. Then she spotted him coming up the stairs. "Oi, what were you doing?" she asked snappily.
"Nothing," he promised.
"Sure it was nothing," Rose groaned. "Anyways, you can come inside."
He grinned brightly and walked inside Jackie's flat. Rose sat down on the couch and he instantly plopped down next to her, putting an arm around her and kissing her cheek. The sound of laughter made him turn his head to look at Jackie, who was staring at him in amusement. "Hi Jackie," he said in a monotone, making it so Rose was unsure if he was happy or sad to see her. Perhaps he was just upset that he and Rose weren't alone.
"Doctor," Jackie acknowledged him. "How are you feeling?"
"Mmm, Rose and I cuddled in the library today. It was nice. I'm feeling well," he said, kissing Rose's head once again.
Rose blushed a bright pink as the Doctor pulled her closer to her. Jackie laughed, "Taking advantage of this bite then, are you Rose?"
"No!" Rose's voice came out higher than she wanted. She cleared her throat. "No, I haven't been. He just... I wanted him to fly the TARDIS here since I don't know how... And, well..."
The Doctor chose the perfect time to pipe up, "We cuddled at the hospital too! We do a lot of cuddling. I really like it. Rose is warm and nice. I love her."
Jackie broke down into laughter as she sat down at the couch across from them. "Well, I'm sure the Doctor thought all of that before the bite, but there's no way in a million years he'd ever say it out loud. There's definitely something wrong."
The Doctor frowned. "There's nothing wrong! I'm perfect. Rose is perfect. We're perfect together."
Rose turned to face him, "Listen Doctor, can you stay with Jackie just for a minute? I'll be back, I just want to grab my sweatshirt from the TARDIS. It's kind of chilly in here."
"I'll get it for you! Don't worry! Be right back!" he went to move up but Rose grabbed his hand, instantly gaining his full attention.
"No, it's fine, I can do it. Why don't you stay here and talk to Jackie? Tell her about what we've been doing," Rose suggested in a voice that she would use to talk to a small child.
"Like the sex?" he asked in an innocent voice.
Rose wanted to shrink down to the size of an ant and run away as fast as she could. Jackie snorted and stifled another laugh. "Sure, like that," Rose said.
"Okay, be careful. Have your key?" he wondered.
She nodded and he kissed her fully on the lips. She thought it would be a chaste kiss, but he wrapped his hands around her back and pulled her closer, snogging the life out of her. "Uh... Gotta go. Be back."
Preview of Chapter Ten:
"Jackie..." the Doctor asked, wiggling around on the couch.
"Hmm?" Jackie replied, half paying attention while making tea.
His voice was instantly serious. "Can I have your blessing?"
"Blessing for what?"
"Marriage, of course. To Rose," he said with a wide grin and hopeful doe eyes.
A/N: Hopefully I haven't lost my writing skills during my hiatus! :P Also - I have two AU stories in progress that I'm really excited about! I'd like to pre write the entire story before I post it so that you'll never have to wait for an update, so I'm not sure how long it will take me to start posting. Please review this chapter and tell me what you think!
