Shocked I stared at the familiar face of Kyo-niichan.
"Haruhi… are you who I think you are?" he asked while he shoved his glasses higher with two fingers. Arata shot me an alarmed glare. But to my own surprise, I stayed calm without panicking. I looked at Kyo-niichan He already knew the truth so why nog just admit it?
"Yes, you're right." I answered, my eyes locking with Kyo-niichan's.
Shocked Arata stared at me but I just shrugged. "He already guessed so why not tell him?" I said. Arata's eyes narrowed, anger flashed through them. "You just can't lie to you 'precious' childhood friends. You're merely doing this for selfish reasons. Think more seriously about the consequences." He putted away the knife and stormed past Kyo-niichan to leave the room.
When Arata left, the place filled with an awkward tension as we looked at each other. "Quite rude for a bodyguard, isn't he?" I laughed awkwardly but shut my mouth when Kyo-niichan didn't laugh with me. He slowly walked over to me and when I thought he would say something, he pulled me against his chest. Dumfounded I realized he was hugging me. "U-um Kyoya-senpai?"
"Not senpai." He said next to my ear, his breath stroking my hair. I hesitantly wrapped my arms around him. "K-Kyo-nii."
He squeezed me tighter and stayed like this for a while in silence until he let go of me and cleared his throat. A small smile showed on his lips. "Mori-senpai knows?" he asked.
I nodded. "But the others don't."
Kyo-niichan looked surprised. "You're not going to tell them?"
"Not yet." I said softly, averting my eyes.
"I see, then I'll respect that decision." He said.
I smiled at him but frowned. "What were you doing here actually?"
"You were taking a long time so I came to fetch you and actually I also wanted to talk to you in private."
"Why?"
"It's about the day I followed you to that restaurant." He explained.
I shivered at the memory. "What about it?"
He shoved his glasses up again. "Could I get my handkerchief back?"
Dumbfounded I started to laugh. "Yeah, I'll give it back as soon as it is washed."
Should I tell him what happened that day? But I haven't even told Taka-niichan… I decided not to.
"Let's go to the clubroom." I said and Kyo-niichan and I left the classroom.
...
Some girls started to squeal after Tama-niichan's act. I looked at the scène skeptical. 'He loves himself way too much.' I thought as I was blinded by the radiant, shining host, whom was for some reason, suddenly surrounded by red roses and sparkling stars.
I rolled my eyes and they met Kyo-niichan's eyes. I smiled at him, I didn't expect him to smile back, and he of course didn't, but he nodded slightly. It was reckless of me to tell him but he already had found out, though I understood I only used that as an excuse. Arata was right, I did this because of some selfish reasons.
I caught Taka-niichan looking at us so I gave him a bright smile and he slightly pulled his eyebrows up.
Taka-niichan beckoned me so I approached him. "Kyo-niichan found out." I explained.
Taka-niichan's and Kyo-niichan eyes crossed. "You're all right with that?"
"Yeah." I smiled softly and took a breath. "After the exams I'm going to tell everyone."
"The exams are still three weeks far." He answered, a small smile on his face.
"I know… I just don't want to… rush things." I said.
His smile grew, he knew I wanted to avoid telling the others for as long as possible.
"All right." He said and patted my head.
"Haruhi-kun~" my new customer called me. I smiled at the girl. "I'm coming!"
...
As I was cleaning my "workplace" I felt a tug at me sleeve. I turned around and faced Hika-niichan. I gulped and smiled. I hadn't talked with him very much after the incident, for I had been avoiding him and each time I lost courage to talk to him, I became more scared to face him. But now Kyo-niichan also knew maybe it wouldn't be bad to tell him too… but wouldn't that be unfair towards Kao-niichan?
"Haruhi can we talk for a moment?" He interrupted me from my thoughts.
"Uh, yeah, sure." I stuttered, we left the room.
"I didn't think you would agree." He said laughing. "Since you've been avoiding me." He laughed again but sounded somehow hurt. I shrunk, feeling guilty. So he noticed.
"I felt a bit guilty about what happened, you know, with the girl and such."
"Yeah, I figured." He said, still smiling but I could tell it was a fake. "But it wasn't your fault, you couldn't have known that that girl was crazy."
"She asked me to help her with a confession to you." I said, looking at my hands while playing with my fingers. Hika-niichan took a step closer and I almost could feel his breath.
"You know, when she was holding me captive, she told me some funny things." He said.
Panicking I looked up, meeting his eyes. "W-what did she say?"
"She told me funny story about you." He explained.
It couldn't be… could it be she told him the truth.
"Haruhi…"
"What are you two doing?" Kao-niichan's voice echoed through the corridor. Hika-niichan jumped back in surprise but laughed. "We were just talking.
"Then talk in the clubroom." Kao-niichan said, annoyance could be heard in his voice.
Hika-niichan grinned like a little devil. "What? Are you being jealous, Kaoru?" he asked and his brother's cheeks flushed slightly red. Kao-niichan frowned in anger.
"As if!" Kao-niichan walked towards his twin and grabbed his arm. "You've been acting all weird these days, you should talk to me about it, not to Haruhi!" he said annoyed.
"It's none of your business." Hika-niichan yelled angry and pulled his arm away.
"Of course it's my business, I'm your goddamn brother! Don't keep secrets from me!" Kao-niichan yelled back.
The other hosts had gathered at the door and were, just like me, watching the spectacle in silence. Dumbfounded we watched the two brothers argue. I hadn't seen the two of them fight except for once but that time it was just all an act.
This time it didn't seem like they were fooling around. This time it looked real.
I was getting out of inspiration on how the boys would find out Haruhi's identity and their reactions, I think I'm going to make Hikaru (and probably Kaoru too) angry at her for lying to them but I don't know how Tamaki should react.
I'm doubting between: hurt, angry or confused, I might give him a small crush on Haruhi for when they were younger so it might develop into a HaruhixTamaki fanfic but I'm not sure yet, I wasn't planning on pairing anyone actually but maybe this fanfic needs some love.
Tell me if you disagree/agree with me or wish to see another pairing okay ^_^ (Mabye) I'll take them into account, if it matches the story.
