We all watched as Kao-niichan ran away. "Shouldn't you go after him?" Tama-niichan said to Hika-niichan. It wasn't really a question, more a command. Sometimes it's amazing how people do as Tama-niichan says, even though he has such a fool attitude. Hika-niichan watched Kao-niichan turn the corner.
"Hikaru?" Tama-niichan called him.
"Uh, y-yeah…" he stuttered and ran after his twin brother.
"Did something happen between them?" Mitsu-niichan asked concerned. "Could it be about what happened with that girl?" he wondered.
Taka-niichan and I exchanged a glance. Hika-niichan had said that Shiori had told him something, could it be she told him my identity? I sighed, could things get even more complex?
At that moment five phones started vibrating and all five of us opened a mail from Renge-chan. Her mail contained three words: watch the news!
Confused we gathered around Kyo-niichan who had taken his pc on his lap. Kyo-niichan went to the site of the national news channel and played the live broadcast. What I saw and heard froze met to the bone.
We watched my aunt on a press conference. Dozens of flashes from camera's lit up her face, that was showing a charming smile. You wouldn't say so but my aunt was actually middle-aged.
"How strange." Kyo-niichan muttered. "I never got a notice there would be a conference today."
"We neither." Mitsu-niichan said for both him and Taka-niichan. Kyo-niichan looked at Tama-niichan but he shook his head. In silence we watched the broadcast.
"Thank you for coming today." My aunt smiled. "Today I have wonderful news for the whole nation." I could feel the tension grow as she kept silent. "I have been given the honor of announcing that our country's long lost princess has been found." She said.
Several journalists started screaming questions and camera's flashed even more. Both Taka-niichan and Kyo-niichan shot me a glance but I shrugged. What the hell is my aunt thinking?!
I never agreed to revealing my identity to the world. The chaos on television continued as we watched in silence. I heard Tama-niichan mutter something under his breath but I couldn't understand it. "Tamaki-senpai?" I called him, he looked up with a lost look in his eyes.
"Tamaki." Kyo-niichan called his friend. "It's probably a scheme to provoke us. She could be lying." Kyo-niichan said, Tama-niichan averted his eyes and nodded.
"Don't worry, I won't get my hopes up too high." He said and I felt a sting of guilt. While Mitsu-niichan comforted a depressed Tama-niichan, Kyo-niichan and Taka-niichan looked at me. I sighed, I guess I'll have to tell them what happened at the restaurant after all. I noticed that Taka-niichan was a little bit annoyed that I hadn't told him such important information. Kyo-niichan didn't show any approval or disapproval to my decisions.
"So… are you going to do it? Becoming princess again?" Kyo-niichan asked softly, to make sure Mitsu-niichan and Tama-niichan didn't hear us, he pushed his glasses up.
"I don't know yet." I said and Kyo-niichan showed a small smile.
"You don't have to choose immediately but it seems that Aneko-sama won't give you much time to decide." He said and we all looked at the screen of the computer. The broadcast had ended and we started to pack our things in silence.
Still not talking, the five of us left the school building. I saw Arata waiting at the gate. I hadn't had the chance to talk to him since I had club activities. He must be still angry that I told Kyo-niichan about my secret. Kyo-niichan noticed him too and he frowned. Taka-niichan leaned closer to him and whispered so Tama-niichan and Mitsu-niichan couldn't hear. "Her bodyguard."
"I see." He replied but he kept frowning.
"I'll be leaving first then." I said and waved them goodbye as I walked towards Arata. He didn't say anything as we started walking home. After a few minutes passed in an awkward silence he finally said something. "Did you see the broadcast?" he asked.
"Yeah."
"She's pushing you into becoming princess again, isn't she."
"Yeah."
Arata suddenly stopped walking. "About what happened with Kyoya Ootori-sama" He spoke sosoftly, that it was almost a whisper. He met my eyes but looked immediately away again. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said those words to you." He apologized.
I smiled at him. "I was partly at fault as well, so I'm sorry too."
Dumbfounded Arata locked eyes with me. "N-no not at all, you don't have to apologize, Haruhi-sama." He quickly said, shaking his head.
"Why not? Since I was at fault too." I asked.
"For a princess to apologize to her subordinate, that's absurd, Haruhi-sama." He said.
I rolled my eyes. "It's called common sense, Arata."
"But still…" he muttered.
I sighed. "Don't put me in the same category as those rich bastards who can't find the word apology in theirs dictionaries, when I need to apologize, I'll apologize, okay?"
"I'm sorry, it wasn't my intention to insult you, Haruhi-sama." Arata said and he looked a little lost.
"You didn't insult me, I realize my reply was a bit exaggerated, I'm sorry." I apologized again.
"Please stop apologizing to me, Haruhi-sama!" he begged.
"I'm sorry." I replied and Arata threw his arms in the air. Laughing I started walking again.
Arata became serious again. "About that broadcast, it might get dangerous for you." He said. "So I was thinking you maybe you'd want to learn some self-defense?"
"Self-defense?" I repeated. "You will teach me?"
Arata shook his head. "My superiors will."
Surprised I looked at him. "I will meet your superiors?"
"Yeah, we'll stay over the weekend, so start packing your things."
Whoa~ I got some many reactions on the pairing! God, now I don't know what to do anymore :) I want to satisfy everyone with the end but that's going to be difficult... What do you guys think of an individual ending for each host? I'll take your opinions in consideration. Next chapter might be bit boring but the others will make up for it 'kay? ^_^ Thanks for the awesome reviews by the way
