The stupid party had finally ended, in the end i had to dance with every male guest twice. Twice! Afterwards I had invited Akito for another drink, which he, surprisingly accepted. We sat across each other in one of the many rooms of the mansion. Akito's attitude was even more playful than usual and he kept talking about futile things.

"So after I broke the vase, I told mom it was a maid who had done it." He laughed at the memory. "you should have seen the girl cry when she got fired." He sighed. "You really missed a lot after you fled the palace."

I didn't comment on any of his stories but just watched the alcohol take effect. He started a new story but I didn't pay much attention, my nerves played up. Please let this go well.

"…And my mother! Oh, she didn't stop complaining for days!" he told.

"Really?" I finally said. "I've met your mother and she didn't look like a woman who would complain a lot."

"Yeah." Akito rolled his eyes and chuckled. "But the woman you met wasn't my real mommy." He sighed. "My real mother would never have met you, she's such a coward."

"That's not the impression she gave me." A woman who didn't hesitate to kill her own niece and betray her son wouldn't be a coward.

"Like I said, you didn't meet my biological mother." He repeated.

"Yes, I did." Through the haze of alcohol he made a dumbfounded face. "Really? How was she? It's been years since I last saw her."

"She told me some things about you." I hoped the recorder could record everything good enough.

"Did she? Only good things I hope." Akito laughed.

"Not really."

"Well… I guess you can't say lots of good things about me."

"She told me you want the throne for yourself so you will kill me." The nerves I had trying to suppress, started to boil up. That he was drunk and didn't watch his words didn't mean he couldn't attack me in a fit of rage. Aktio shook his head, wobbling in his seat.

"No~ that's wrong Haruhi! I'm not going to kill you…" he said.

No… he was supposed to confess, not contradict. He stood up and closed the distance between us, he bent down my height and locked eyes with me. He smiled satisfied. Breathless I realized too late that he didn't have the eyes of a drunken person and he hadn't stumbled once while walking to my place, while a drunken person certainly couldn't have managed that.

"Haruhi, Haruhi, Haruhi…" he shook his head as if he was disappointed with me. "Did you really think you could fool me?" his hot breath, reeking of alcohol, stroke my cheek. His eyes stood cold, this was totally different from his jovial attitude just a moment ago.

"Y-you weren't drunk?"

"I can hold my liquor fairly well." He shrugged and grinned. "It's a gift as well a curse."

I lifted my chin, in a try to be courageous. I couldn't lose my cool now. "I have already collected enough evidence to frame you. You already lost." I said it braver than I actually felt.

The sound of a ringing laugh filled the room. I turned my head to find the fake Aneko in the doorpost. "She really is an naïve girl." She walked towards Akito and he placed an arm around her waist. "A naïve girl or not, I'll end up jealous if you pay her too much attention, Aki-chan." She pouted and wrapped her arms around his middle. Akito stroke her hair.

"No need to feel jealous, babe."

"You're lovers?" I asked dumbfounded, that woman could have been his mother?!

"We're partners in crime." Akito joked.

Still a bit dumbfounded by this new discovery I swallowed hard."Are - are you going to kill me now?" I asked, I couldn't prevent my voice from trembling slightly.

"No, I'm not, I already said that, didn't I?"

That confused me and so it seemed to confuse his girlfriend too. "Why not?" she asked.

He smiled. "I'm going to accuse her of high treason."

"High treason?" I repeated worried.

"Yes, I'll explain you the story: you commit treason, everyone, the whole country is shocked, you are arrested and thrown in jail and I, I will become ruler of this country." He smiled arrogantly. "Aren't I a genius?"

My fear grew bigger and bigger. The question I didn't dare to ask was asked by his lover.

"And how does she commits treason?"

Akito revealed a gun, he took it out and played with it as if it were a toy gun. The fake Aneko placed her hand on his chest. "Aki-chan~ tell me already~" she wailed.

"By killing my mother of course." Akito explained impatiently." When you kill a royal member, crown princess or not, you'll be thrown in jail for sure."

His girlfriend clapped her hands. "How smart! Now we only have to find your mother and – "

Akito suddenly pointed his gun at her head. "I don't think you understand it well, sweetie." He said. "Did you forget who plays my mother in front of the people? No one knows how my real mother looks like anymore so it would be strange to find the body of an unknown woman, don't you think so too, Haruhi?."

"B-But – y-you love me, don't you? Aki-chan?" the woman started to tremble. "You wouldn't kill me, right?"

"Of course I love you." Akito smiled. "You should feel honored that I give you this chance to serve me and die for me. You love me enough to die for me, don't you?" his finger clenched the trigger.

"Of course I love you so much, but this is too much, Aki-chan, please put the gun away." She begged, tears running down her face.

"I'm sorry, babe, you're not worth it." He narrowed his eyes to aim better.

"Akito! Don – " the sound of the shot resonated through the room. A fountain of blood spread through the air, the woman's eyes rolled away, blood ran down her face. The body sank down the ground, her mouth in a silent scream while she cried tears of blood. Quickly the body was surrounded by a mirror of blood.

"N-no way." I whispered in shock.

Akito watched the body lie on the floor and shifted his eyes to me. "Now… what should we do now, Haruhi?" he said and smiled as if nothing had happened. "Everyone must have heard the shot."

I promised to update Wednesday but I wasn't able to, sorry, after this chapter a short epilogue will follow, I'll publish it shortly after this one, about the sequel, I don't know yet when I'll publish it since the exams will start very soon so I might not have the time to update but I'll try.
