Si'Lea and Aqua were hurrying towards Steadfast Stadium, passing through the world barrier to find the city was fine but there was a distinct lack of revelry like there had been when the two were there earlier. There were no fireworks in the sky as they landed outside of the Stadium Entrance where Gabranth stood guard.
"Master Aqua, Master Si'Lea, I am pleased you have arrived so quickly." Gabranth said as Si'Lea and Aqua approached.
"We got Laguna's message that the stadium had been attacked. Any injured?" Si'Lea asked as Gabranth gave a nod.
"The Turks: Rude and Cissnei took a beating but Reno and Isa fared better. All are expected to make a full recovery. But Reno and Isa…they…they have gained powers that I believe Master Aqua has seen before." Gabranth said as Aqua arched an eyebrow.
"What sort of powers?" Aqua asked.
"To my knowledge, you and Master Sora encountered the Nobodies of the now defunct Organization XIII, correct?" Gabranth asked as Aqua nodded.
"Partially correct. Sora was the one who encountered them. We both encountered their Absent Silhouettes however. Why?" Aqua asked.
"It would seem that Reno has inherited the powers of the one you call Axel, and Isa the powers of the one you call Saix." Gabranth replied as Si'Lea tapped her chin.
"Didn't you say that Reno, or Lea as he's originally known, was Axel's other? And that Axel was an anagram of Lea only with an added X?" Si'Lea asked as Aqua nodded.
"Yes and Saix is an anagram of Isa with an added X. It would seem that they've gained the powers of their nobodies which isn't much of a stretch when you think about it." Aqua replied.
"What's so strange about that, Judge?" Si'Lea asked.
"Well the fact is, these powers seemed to awaken during their fight with the Seventh Sister." Gabranth said as Si'Lea froze.
"Did you just say Seventh Sister?" she asked as Gabranth gave a slow nod.
"Yes Master Si'Lea. The Sisterhood is complete. All seven sisters are assembled. They are at full strength at long last and what's worse, this Seventh Sister has a Keyblade." Gabranth said as a look of worry flashed across Si'Lea's face.
"A Keyblade. Are you sure?" Si'Lea asked as Gabranth gave her a grim expression.
"As Master Aqua can attest, I have had plenty of experience with a Keyblade and would know them when I see them." Gabranth said as Aqua gave a nod, verifying his claim. Si'Lea was now visibly concerned.
"This is bad. I need to see Laguna right away." Si'Lea said as Gabranth gave a nod and stepped aside.
"He is expecting you in the security office." Gabranth said, motioning for them to pass. Si'Lea and Aqua immediately took off, heading into the stadium, making their way through the halls to Laguna's office. When they got there, they saw a secret door in the wall was standing open, leading the way into a room with numerous television monitors and equipment.
"Come on in, Si'Lea, the door's open!" Laguna called from inside the room, the two Keyblade Masters walking in. Laguna was standing in the center of the security office which had all three walls decked out in TV monitors, showing looped footage of the fight that had occurred earlier but from different angles.
"How're your men, Laguna?" Si'Lea asked.
"They're fine. A little banged up but fine. I'll let them know you asked about them." Laguna said before turning towards the two Keyblade Masters, a disconcerted look on his face.
"'Lea…it was Prishe." He said as Si'Lea grimaced at the name.
"Prishe? Who's Prishe?" Aqua asked.
"She's an old acquaintance of ours. First poisoned her mind somehow and pulled her over to her side a long time ago." Si'Lea explained, sadness appearing on her face.
"Wait, you mean Prishe was on our side once?" Aqua asked as Laguna scoffed.
"Are you kidding? She's one of the founding members of the Sublime City Guardians." Laguna replied, startling Aqua.
"Wait! She was one of the Guardians?!" Aqua asked as Si'Lea sighed and reached into her back pocket and pulled out a booklet full of photos in clear plastic sleeves. She flipped to a page which was a group shot out front of the First District Mansion. The photo was at least ten years old as a younger Si'Lea stood in the center, smiling towards the camera with a younger Laguna on her right wearing a blue jacket, brown trousers and black boots, holding his machine gun while grinning at the camera. To Si'Lea's left was Professor Von Drake. There was also a dashing young man with long black hair wearing the clandestine black suit of the Turks and holding an oddly familiar tri-barreled pistol standing over Laguna's right shoulder. Standing to Si'Lea's left and behind Von Drake was a beautiful woman in a simple white dress and long black hair and grey eyes. But standing to this woman's left, shooting a victory sign and winking at the camera while grinning with one hand on her hip was Prishe.
"Which one's Prishe? Is that her?" Aqua asked, pointing at the woman in the white dress but Si'Lea and Laguna both gave her grim looks.
"No…that was First. This is Prishe." Si'Lea said, pointing to Prishe in the photograph but Aqua couldn't take her eyes off of First for some reason.
"She looks really familiar." Aqua said.
"Probably have seen some old wanted posters or something. But Prishe was a feisty girl. Got along great with everyone except maybe First. Then a few years after First turned on us, she captured Prishe and turned her against us. Now Prishe is one of First's most trustworthy minions." Si'Lea explained as Laguna motioned to one of the monitors.
"Yep and she recently gave Reno and Cissnei a sound thumping." Laguna said, pointing to one of the monitors which was zoomed in on Prishe.
"Yeah that's Prishe." Si'Lea mumbled as Aqua gently took the photobook from Si'Lea, looking at the young man with the pistol curiously.
"Who's this?" Aqua asked as Si'Lea looked at where Aqua was pointing.
"Oh that's Vincent." She replied, surprising Aqua.
"That's Vincent? He's...he's handsome! When did he get all dark and gloomy like he is now?" Aqua asked.
"Vincent got captured by the First Sister along with Prishe. He managed to escape but when he came back to us, he appeared the way he does now. He said that First was performing strange experiments on his heart and did something to him that changed him. That's why he looks all dark and gloomy on the outside but inside he's got a heart of gold." Si'Lea explained.
"Whoa." Aqua muttered in shock. Laguna then tapped another monitor.
"This is what you want to see, boss. Our new enemy." Laguna said as they looked at a monitor showing a hooded figure with a Keyblade in hand.
"She doesn't seem to share the Sisterhood's sense of fashion. Any idea what her powers are like?" Si'Lea asked as Laguna pointed to a couple of other monitors showing the figure in two differing forms.
"Seems like that coat changes to match her attack style. This one appears to be combat driven and this one is magic based but here's the kicker. She used light magic in this form." Laguna said, pointing to the monitor showing the figure, hood down, in a red coat. Aqua saw the image and her eyes widened.
"Kairi?" she asked, earning a curious look from Si'Lea.
"You know her?" She asked.
"Of course but…Laguna are there any more images of her with her hood down?" Aqua asked as Laguna pointed to a different monitor of the same figure but in the white coat like before and with blond hair.
"Namine…that's Namine!" Aqua exclaimed.
"You mean the girl you and Sora came here to look for is the girl in that image?!" Si'Lea asked as Aqua nodded.
"Sure as the worlds are spinning! I've only met her once but I'd know her anywhere! She is the spitting image of her Other, Kairi, a Princess of Heart! Only physical differences are their voice and hair color!" Aqua explained.
"And the Sisterhood is claiming her as their Seventh Sister…I have a bad feeling about this. Perhaps you best warn Sora about this. If First was able to turn her like she did with Prishe, there's no telling what might happen." Si'Lea said but Aqua shook her head.
"No. I'm not telling Sora about this. It would crush him. Plus there is the chance that she's not been brainwashed like what happened with Prishe. If anyone can help Namine, it's Sora." Aqua said as Si'Lea gave a nod.
"I'll respect your judgment on the matter, but if we run into her and she turns out to be hostile, I won't be holding back." Si'Lea said as Aqua gave a somber nod in return.
"I understand. I'm going to leave the two of you to discuss whatever you need to. I'd like to speak with Lea and Isa if I can." Aqua said as Laguna gave her a thumbs up.
"Sure thing." Laguna said as Aqua bowed before turning to leave.
…
Aqua followed the signs on the walls and soon found herself in the medical ward of the stadium where the four Turks were convalescing. Cissnei and Rude were both in a separate room to recover, Ren having used cure magic to help them heal quicker. Isa and Reno were both sitting on the edges of two separate medical beds. Reno and Isa had both changed back into their suits and Reno had restyled his hair to look as it did before the fight. They both saw Aqua enter and Reno was the first to greet her.
"Hey Aqua, glad to see you again my watery goddess." Reno said, putting on the charm.
"It's Master Aqua, Lea. Show some respect." Isa said warningly before turning to Aqua.
"My apologizes for Lea's behavior, Master Aqua. How may we be of assistance?" Isa asked.
"I'd like to talk to the two of you actually. I want to talk to you about the member of the Sisterhood you fought earlier." Aqua said as Reno scratched the back of his head nervously.
"You mean Namine, right?" Reno asked as Aqua looked at him, surprised.
"Yes. How did you know who she was?" She asked.
"I didn't but Axel did. It appears she did something to my memories when we fought. Did the same thing to Isa too. I remember her from some big white castle. Oblivion I think its name was, and she was my prisoner but I let her go to help someone…someone named…Roxas I think." Reno said as Aqua gave a nod.
"Roxas is the name of Master Sora's Nobody. He was Axel's best friend in Organization XIII." Aqua explained as Reno gave a nod.
"Yeah, that's right. Sorry, the memories are coming back a little at a time." Reno explained.
"What's more concerning is that we recognized her from somewhere else before the fight began." Isa added.
"What do you mean?" Aqua asked as Reno and Isa looked at each other.
"Lea and I are not from this world. We're from the same world as Ren. A world called Radiant Garden." Isa explained.
"I know the place. I've been there plenty of times." Aqua replied.
"Then can you answer me this question? One of the residents of Radiant Garden was a little girl named Kairi. Do you know her or what became of her by any chance?" Isa asked as Aqua smiled and laughed slightly.
"Kairi? Of course I know her. She's one of Sora's Apprentices. She's grown into a beautiful young woman and a powerful Keyblade Wielder." Aqua replied as Isa and Reno both blinked in surprise.
"She's alright?" Isa asked as Aqua nodded.
"She's currently waiting for Sora and I to return with Namine. Namine is her Nobody." Aqua explained as the two Turks looked at each other with relief.
"Good. At least she's okay." Isa said.
"We were friends of hers back in the Garden when we were young. Does she mention us at all?" Reno asked but Aqua gave them a sad look.
"I'm sorry, no. Her memories of her childhood in Radiant Garden were lost some time ago. She doesn't remember much of it." Aqua replied but neither Turk seemed too disappointed.
"The fact that she's okay is good enough for us." Isa said with a smile.
"Got it memorized?" Reno asked with a similar smirk.
Back in Twilight Town…
Axel, Ven, Kairi, Riku, and Terra all sat around in Axel's home, looking at the girl lying unconscious on Axel's couch. Her hood was down, revealing a head full of long brown hair that reached just past where her shoulders met her neck.
"Anybody recognize her?" Ven asked curiously.
"Mind's drawing a blank but that's not unusual for me." Axel said, trying to lighten the mood.
"I don't recognize her. Riku? Terra?" Kairi asked, the two men looking at the girl with concentrating gazes of their own.
"She looks familiar. I feel like I should know her but I don't know how." Riku replied.
"I don't know her but there is an odd feeling about her. Two odd feelings, actually, from two different sources. Me and Master Eraqus." Terra said, earning a curious look from the others.
"Really? Master Eraqus?" Ven asked, anxious to hear what his former Master was feeling.
"What Master Eraqus feels is an odd sense of protectiveness towards her but I can't explain it. I, on the other hand, sense something that I imagine Axel senses as well." Terra said, glancing at Axel who seemed to frown.
"I was hoping I was the only one sensing it, but if you sense it too, Superior, then we've got a problem." Axel said, concerning the others.
"What do you mean? What problem?" Riku asked.
"This girl…there's a hollow feeling about her. It's the same hollow feeling I get whenever Nobodies are around." Terra said as Riku, Kairi, and Ven all looked at him with widened eyes and then looked at the girl.
"Wait, you mean that she's…she's a…" Ven stammered as Terra nodded.
"She's a Nobody." Terra said as he knelt down next to the girl, a pitying look in his eyes.
"What do we do then? If she's a nobody…" Kairi said, her sentence dropping off. She wanted to help the girl however she could but was at a loss as to how to do so.
"We help her find her other, that's what we do." Riku said as Axel gave a nod.
"Now that's a plan I can get behind. Got it memorized?" Axel asked as they heard a moan come from the girl. They saw her eyelids flutter slightly before opening. She looked around but didn't seem worried or scared by the people around her. She seemed to have the same emotionless stare on her face as most Nobodies did. She then sat up and looked around, looking each of them over, saying nothing.
"Hello." Kairi greeted finally. The girl looked at her, a blank look in her eyes. Kairi was smiling sweetly towards her and slowly approached, extending a hand to greet her but the girl didn't react.
"I'm Kairi…what's yours?" Kairi asked. This question elicited a response from the girl who furrowed her brow, trying to think but ultimately gave no answer.
"Uh-oh, looks like we've got a nameless one, Superior." Axel mumbled towards Terra who nodded.
"Do you know if you have a name?" Terra asked but the girl didn't react.
"Alright, looks like we'll have to do this the old fashioned way, right Axel?" Terra asked the former Organization XIII member who gave him a curious look.
"You remember how to do it?" he asked as Terra nodded while standing up.
"Having Xemnas as my Nobody has afforded me something of an advantage in this area. I remember much of what he used to do. The girl may not remember her name like she is now but deep down, buried within her being is her true name. Xemnas knew where to look and knew how to extract this name. It's how he was able to name all of the members of Organization XIII. With this knowledge, I can repeat the process once again and at least give her a name. I don't believe she should use her true name but a facsimile there of to better distinguish her from her Other." Terra said as Kairi, Ven, and Riku looked at each other before finally nodding.
"Do it." Riku said as Terra nodded before turning to the girl who hadn't reacted in the slightest. He took a deep breath before speaking with a different voice…
"Do you want to know?" he asked her with Xemnas's voice waving a hand across in front of her face, causing four glowing blue letters to appear in the air before her. He wasn't using the voice for fun and the use of the voice made the others noticeably unnerved but they understood.
"You feel nothing. You can feel nothing. Do you want a meaning?" Terra asked as the girl finally nodded. Terra then waved his hand across her face. The letters suddenly started spinning around her in a counterclockwise direction, picking up speed before Terra raised his hand in front of her, causing a large glowing X to appear in front of her face and the letters all stopping behind it, forming a name…
"Xenix." The girl said as Terra smiled warmly at her and finished…
"A new you."
End Chapter 28
The name is pronounced Zee-nix. Again, can't get the accent marks to show up. Bet you can figure out whose Nobody she is though.
I wanted to establish a few things with this chapter, specifically the fact that Lea and Isa both remember Kairi from their youth. Also to add to the mystery that surrounds Prishe and First.
Also, I'd like to announce that Si'Lea and Nixe have made a bit of a crossover into another story. Nintendoman01 has written a story that features Si'Lea and Nixe only with a different backstory than what is written here. It is not to be considered Canon with the RKH Saga but it is still worth the read. It was done with my permission, I should add, so go give his story: Kingdom Hearts III – Darkest Storm a read.
I would also like to take a moment and dedicate this chapter to the memory of Monty Oum, one of the people who I've admired for his creative talent and amazing work. Monty died on February 1st, 2015 due to a severe allergic reaction from a routine medical procedure. He was 33 years old. I've referenced Monty's work several times in my fanfictions. Even the Keyblade I envision Namine using in this story, Lunar Eclipse, is one he created. Whenever I imagine a fight scene for RKH or many other stories, I use some of his work to help me visualize.
Monty's works include Haloid, a non-stop brawl between Samus Aran and a female SPARTAN and an army of Covenant warriors. Dead Fantasy, a similar series of fisticuffs between Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts female characters and Dead or Alive female characters. And finally RWBY, a CGI based Anime series of Monty's own creation which can be found on YouTube, Netflix, and the RoosterTeeth Website as well as Crunchyroll.
Rest in Peace Monty. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
