Infinity and Beyond

-Chapter 22-

Alexandra, Part One

Mommy and I are at a very loud, grown-ups party when I feel a grown-up's hand press a stinky white cloth to my mouth and nose.

The smell makes me dizzy and my eyes watery before everything turns black...

"Infinity!" I wake up to Alex's worried voice. "Infinity, are you okay?"

My almond-shaped brown eyes open to a bright light. I gasp and quickly sit up when I see that I'm locked in a cage. I'm really scared...

I feel goosebumps pop up my olive skin as I whimper."Where am I?" I start crying a little as I look at Alex. "Where's mommy?"

"Shh..." Alex tells me softly. "Infinity, everything will be okay. I'm not going to let anything bad happen, okay?"

"You should worry about yourself." A man with a heavy accent says to Alex. "You used to live here." 'His name is Vlad. He buys girls as sex slaves.'

"I've to keep this." Vlad continues to Alex as he puts her handgun in a drawer. "Not safe for a girl."

Then he walks closer to me and crouches down before reaching a hand out to touch me. I shrink back tearfully, I don't want him to touch me, I don't like him.

"Now this little girl..." He grins scarily. "I've heard that I can sell for a very high price!"

"Not as long as I'm here." Alex growls at him bravely. "I won't let her be sold. I won't let you lay a finger on her!"

But Vlad just smiles and stands back up. "I'll be back." He says before leaving the room...

Vision

Mommy was watching a silent video on her computer. Her eyes stared at the screen worriedly. She looked scared and as if she was going to cry soon. "Where are you, sweetie?" She muttered to herself.

Then, her eyes widened at the screen as she quickly paused the video which had me, Alex, Vlad, another girl, and two other men in it.

"Vlad... I'm so sorry, Alex." Mommy murmured sadly before her eyes narrowed angrily. "Oh, Vlad, you're going to pay for laying hands on my child..."

End Flashback

"Look here, girls!" Vlad's voice makes me look up tearfully as he's setting up a big camera. I want to cry, I miss mommy a lot, I want mommy to hug me. I'm getting very scared.

"Ever since Wonder Woman cut me up, I've been wondering what was so special about you, Sasha." He says to Alex. My oval-shaped face frown a little. Why is he calling her Sasha?

"And I know for a fact that little Infinity here has something to do with that Wonder Woman too." Vlad looks at me scarily, making me gulp and shrink back tearfully.

"So why don't you two tell me, huh?" He looks between me and Alex. "About your connections to Wonder Woman."

I bite down on my red lips nervously. I don't know who Wonder Woman is. 'He's referring to Nikita.' My tears start falling again at computer mama's words. I don't like this man, I don't want to talk to him...

"Well, sometimes you don't appreciate what you have until you lost it." Vlad says.

"I'll try to remember that when I take your life." Alex doesn't scared at all. "You've no idea who you're dealing with."

"Ohh." Vlad doesn't sound like he believes her before snapping his fingers at Irena. "Hey, come. Sit on my lap. I'll tell you a story."

Irena walks over to him silently and sits on his lap. I tilt my head a little. Grown-ups can sit on each other's laps?

"Ever heard of Anastasia Ramanov?" He says to Irena, who doesn't say anything. "No, of course not." He answers his own question. I don't understand what's happening...

"Well, Anastasia was a princess." He continues. "The daughter of Zerov, the last ruler of Russia. A girl born into fabulous wealth, protected by soldiers loyal to her father, but then, one day, when she was a teenager, Zerov's enemies stole the palace. Her father's soldiers were powerless, some even betrayed him. He was captured, executed, his entire family vanished with him in a fire, the princess too."

"That's a sad story." Something about the way Irena talks reminds me of a slug.

"Shut up, I'm not done yet." Vlad says in the tone that grown-ups use when I've done something wrong.

"But Anastasia's body was never found." He continues. "There were rumors she survived, was hiding from her father's enemies who put a price on her head. You see, if word got out that Anastasia was still alive, people loyal to her father would try to restore her to the throne."

"The rumors were false. She died in that fire." Alex interrupts tearfully. I tilt my head silently. I wonder what's wrong?

"No, she's here." Vlad smiles scarily as if he's about to do something really bad. My stomach feels like it's curling up as I'm scared and nervous.

"Right here." Vlad says as he stands up quickly, making Irena get up from his lap. "We're in the presence of royalty." He bows, but he doesn't sound like he means it. "The daughter of one of the new royals. The heir to Zetrov, the billion dollar empire, built by her father Nikolai Udinov, until he was murdered. Her name is Alexandra Udinov. She's very much alive. I know exactly who I'm dealing with."

My oval-shaped face frowns silently. What does Alex have to do with the story of the princess? 'Vlad made that story up to match Alex's story.'

"Okay." Vlad says as he turns the camera on. "This is very simple. Say for the camera. I'm Alexandra Udinov, daughter of Nikolai Udinov. Action!"

"Get somebody else to say it." Alex tells him coldly. "Like Irena." Irena moves a little at her words.

"Look, these Zetrov guys looking for you, if they believe me, big money." He says as he takes off his glasses. "You know, for me to quit this job and do something worthwhile. But if they think I'm wasting their time..." He then moves a hand across his neck and makes a hissing sound. 'It means they'll kill him.'

"You've got the wrong girl." Alex lies. I bite down on my red lips, I don't know why grown-ups tell me not to lie when they do it themselves.

"Okay." Vlad says as if he knows she's lying. "If you're not Alexandra Udinov, who the hell are you?"

"She's Alex, she's my mommy's friend." I cry shakily. I don't want him to hurt Alex. I like Alex, she's nice to me...

"Oh?" He says as he leans towards me, making me shrink back again. "And who is your mommy?"

I cry harder. I don't want to tell him about mommy, but Wendy said that I shouldn't lie. Alex didn't tell him anything about my mommy either...

"Her mom is my friend." Alex answers for me.

"Come on now, little girl." Vlad stands up and crouches down in front of me. "Who's your mommy?"

I shrink back even more and hug myself tightly together. "My mommy's my mommy." I answer the question the only way I can think of as I can't stop myself from crying. "My mommy is Alex's friend."

"You're a clever little brat, aren't you?" He growls at me, making me squeak quietly as I back away even more.

Just then, Vlad's phone rings. He answers it in Russian. He continues talking on the phone in Russian as Alex looks worried.

"Alex, I'm scared..." I cry quietly. "He's going to hurt us, isn't he?"

"No, no, no." Alex shakes her head quickly. "I'm not going to let anything bad happen."

"Speak for yourself, princess." Vlad says as he hangs up the phone before turning to me. "Your new owner's here, little one..." He sounds so happy, it's almost like he's singing. I don't know why, but seeing him this happy makes me very scared.

"No!" Alex yells very, very angrily as Vlad picks up the cage I'm in and starts to walk towards the door. "Don't you dare sell her to anyone!"

"But it looks like I already did." He looks back at Alex in a way computer mama would call mocking. "And there's not a thing you can do about it..." He laughs scarily as he walks out the door with me in the cage as I start crying super hard. I can't stop and my body won't stop shaking and I feel as if it's getting hard to breathe.

"I'll make you regret this, Vlad!" I can hear Alex screaming very, very loudly, and she sounds super angry. 'Rage.' Computer mama tells me the word.

"I won't let you get away with this!" Alex continues to scream as Vlad takes me further and further away from her and I cry harder and harder with each step he takes...

Author's note: alright guys, here's another chapter. Infinity didn't really have any interactions with Nikita or Michael in this chapter, but you did get to see her with Alex a bit more. So please review me with your comments, they're much appreciated!
