Chapter 13
Addy opens the door to their motel room and holds it open so Bobby can roll in. He stops out of nowhere and she looks up to see the woman who'd been with Patrick sitting on one of the beds. She drew her gun and pointed it at her.
"You have five seconds to get your ass out of here before I pulled the trigger," she said while Sam and Dean pulled their guns as well.
Slowly, she drew a piece of paper from her pocket and handed it to Bobby," My name's Lia. Take it. It'll help you."
"What is this?" Bobby asked, looking it over.
"The most powerful reversal spell you've ever laid your eyes on. It'll reverse Patrick's work—all of it,"
Lia said gravely.
Dean lowered his gun," You-you saying I could be normal again?"
"You and everyone else he's ever played," she said and then added sadly," Who's still alive."
"Why the hell should we trust you?" Deana asked.
"Trust me, don't trust me. I don't care. The spell is real," she said and got up, beginning to go out the door, but Addy caught her arm.
"Why?" she asked, her question simple but holding a lot behind it," This'll reverse you and Patrick too."
Addy noticed she twisted her silver locket around her neck, "I have my reasons. Do it quick. We leave town tomorrow."
She let go of arm, but not before adding," Thank you."
Lia gave her a nod and left without another word.
SUPERNATURAL
Addy and Sam made their way into the elevator that descended into the bar in silence. She pressed the button and turned to him.
"Don't look at me like that," he said, not meeting her eyes.
"Like what?" she asked, looking away from him.
"Like you're afraid for me," he answered.
"I am," she said, meeting his eyes.
"If this doesn't work-"
"Don't say that," she said quickly," It's gonna work."
"But if it doesn't," he continued.
"It's gonna work," she repeated.
"Don't hate me for this," he said and grabbed her lightly and pressed his lips to hers. He let her go before she could protest and stared at him," If I'm gonna be an old man than I wanted that one last time."
She stared at him for a second longer and then a slow smirk spread on her lips which she tried to hide from him," Remind me to hit you for that later."
"Of course," he replied and she glanced at him with a small smile which he returned and then faded when the elevator opened in the bar," Alright let's do this."
SUPERNATURAL
Addy stands behind Sam, watching play against Patrick. Her whole body was filled with anxious energy as she watched them play.
"Does your big brother know you're here?" Patrick asked casually and she could see Sam tense.
"Bet five," Sam said, not answering his question and threw some chips into the stack.
"Didn't think so," he replied as Addy put a hand on Sam's shoulder and he visibly relaxed. Patrick noticed and chuckled," So which is it Addy. Sam or Dean?"
She didn't answer and instead kept her eyes on Sam as Patrick threw chips into the pile.
"I raise," he said and looked to Addy as he waited for Sam's move," Word on the other side is you fell for a hunter and got your heart broken. Is it safe to assume that this is the very one"
She glared at him, unintentionally giving him his answer.
"It is," he said with a smug smile," And you're still with him? Or are you hanging around for his brother?"
Sam threw in some chips with a tight jaw," Your move."
"I bet that doesn't sit well with you, does it Sam?" he asked, toying with him," Your girlfriend…well ex girlfriend's got a thing for your big brother and no wonder. Trying to clean up their mess, and they still want to sit you at the kiddie table. You're in over your head here, Sam. I mean, you can keep making these moves, playing it cautious, playing the percentages. But I'm still gonna kick your ass into the nursing home."
"Does this armchair-psychology routine usually work for you?" Sam asked with a smirk.
"You tell me. You're the one who's losing," Patrick said with an unsettling laugh that made Addy's stomach churn.
The game went on and she didn't know much about poker, but Addy could tell Sam wasn't doing too well at this point. Suddenly, Lia walked in and gave Patrick a slow kiss. Sam swiped his toothpick and handed it to Addy.
The kiss ended and Addy knew it was time to start the plan.
"I can't do this anymore," she said, feigning tears and ran out of the room.
"Go after her," Patrick said to Sam with kind eyes.
SUPERNATURAL
Sam and Addy step out of the elevator and see Bobby and Dean waiting for them where the spell was all set up.
"How's it going in there?" Dean asked.
"How do you think it's going?" Sam replied with a scoff," What about you? You have everything you need?"
"We still need a little he-witch DNA," Dean replied.
Addy pulled the toothpick from her pocket," He was chewing it."
"Hurry up, Dean. Please," Sam begged them.
"All right. Just keep him busy. And, Sammy...don't lose," Dean said with sad eyes.
Sam nodded and began going back, but Addy stopped him," Be careful. Please, just be careful."
"I will," he said and walked off.
SUPERNATURAL
"Airmidh mi air maponus, dia na hogalachd. Gairmidh mi air sucellus, dia na time. Till an-dràsda obair uile gu bheilair a bhith deànta. Mar sin bitheadh," Addy chants as the flames leap and turn blue for the spell. She looks to Dean who hands her the toothpick and she throws it in. She looks back to him, anxious for it to work but nothing happens.
"Well? How do I look?" Dean asked, still aged seventy five and neither her nor Bobby answers," What's wrong?"
"It didn't work," Addy whispered, her heart beating in her ears," It wasn't his DNA. He tricked us."
"Than we go get some," Bobby said, wheeling towards his car.
SUPERNATURAL
Addy burst into Patrick's apartment, Dean behind her as they searched for anything they could get DNA from. She scoured the kitchen, finding nothing.
"Dean I can't find anything," she shouted frantically and opened the fridge," Even the damn refrigerator is empty."
"It's too damn clean in here. First witch I ever heard of didn't spew bodily fluids all over the place," Dean called back.
Addy threw open every drawer and cupboard looking for anything," Damn it."
She went through everything with Dean's help and found nothing.
"Addy, there's nothing here," Dean called and she heard a thump. She ran around the corner to see Dean falling to his knees with a groan.
"Oh God no," she screamed, seeing the light around him fading so fast it made her head spin.
"Addy," he groans as he falls onto his back.
"Dean, no," she said, rivers falling from her eyes," No. No. You can't die. You can't."
He gasp weekly as she cradles his face in her hands. She presses her eyes shut and focuses all her energy into him. She could feel Patrick's magic overtaking hers.
"No," she yelled at herself," I have to be able to just do this. Just this!"
Dean's breaths became shorter and more labored as Addy cried and tried desperately to save him.
"Come on," she said, rocking back and forth and holding his hand tight," Come on."
"Addy stop," Dean wheezes out and she opens her eyes to see him staring at her.
"No you don't get to die, Dean," she yelled at him through her tears," You and me remember? It's you and me. I'm not doing this without you."
"Promise me," he rasped as she continued trying to save him," Promise me you'll keep fighting."
"Only if you do," she said as he stilled and she froze," No. Dean…Dean!"
Slowly, she presses her ear to his chest and her fingers to his pulse point. She trembles when neither responds and begins crying into his shirt. The light was completely gone now as tears flowed into his clothing.
He moved beneath her and she frowned in confusion," Don't tell me those tears are for me."
She sat up to see Dean was thirty and alive again. Her eyes widened as he stood up with her and smiled," If I knew you'd miss me this much princess I-"
She shoved him back," You stupid son of a bitch."
"How about a I'm glad you're not dead, Dean," he said as she shoved him again," Woah calm down."
"Calm down," she said, giving him another shove," Don't tell me to calm down."
She kept hitting at him, but he caught her by the arms and stared at her tear stained face before pressing his lips to hers as his best reassurance.
At first, she kept hitting at him but it dissolved into a submission as she pulled him closer and he wiped away the tears that were still falling. He encircled her with her body and she held his face in her hands as sobs escaped her lips each time they pulled away for air.
"I'm sorry," he said between kisses," So sorry."
"Don't ever do that to me again," she pleads as he buries his head in her neck and presses desperate kisses down her neck.
"Never," he whispers as she holds him close and he hold her small body against his as is she might break. Their desperate movements stop as he presses his forehead to hers and they catch their breath.
"I can't lose you," she whispers and he tilts her face up to his.
"You won't," he says and presses one more light kiss to her lips," I should almost die more often if that's what I get."
She pushed him slightly with a laugh," Let's get out of here."
"Whatever you want," he said and grabbed her by the hand, leading her out of the apartment.
SUPERNATURAL
Addy helped Sam pack up the back of the Impala. She slammed it shut and turned to see Sam staring at her.
"What?" she asked reluctantly.
"You let me kiss you," he said and guilt flooded through her because he wasn't the only person she'd kissed last night.
She didn't respond.
They stood in silence for a bit before he said," I'll never forgive myself for losing you, but I've accepted that we're over…for good. I can't ever not love you, Addy, but I'm just working on being where I love you in a different way. You're already over us and…"
"Sam, that's not true," she said quickly.
"Yeah, it is, Addy," he said with a sad smile," You're better at moving on than I am."
She shook her head," It's not. I'm still getting over it too. It's just that we were so in love with each other that we couldn't see what was wrong with us. When you…hurt me...I was furious but it gave me a chance to look at us clearly and…we just wouldn't have been able to stay together. We're so different and we want different things. Eventually you'd realize that I'm not right for you."
"I hate that you're always right," he whispered and she could tell he was trying not to cry like she was.
"I think we fell in love because we both needed someone," she continued, blinking back tears," Dean was going to hell and I'd been alone for so long and you came along and showed me I didn't have to be."
"Addy, I need you to know how sorry I am," he said, staring at her," For everything. For the demon blood, for the lies...and for Ruby. I'll never forgive myself for hurting you."
She cupped his face gently and made him look at her," I forgive you, Sam. Do you understand me? I forgive you."
"Really?" he whispered.
She nodded, " Before we fell in love you were my friend. Our relationship just made that friendship stronger because now you're my best friend and true friends forgive each other."
"Thank you," he said as if a great weight was lifted off him," Thank you."
"Don't thank me Sasquatch," she said and hugged him tight.
Unbeknownst to both of them, Dean came out of the motel just then and saw them embraced in each other.
