Chapter 15

Doctor Sexy she could handle. The game show wasn't all that bad…for her. The herpes commercial was funny. This was fucking ridiculous.

Addy stared lovingly at Dean with a large exaggerated smile as he prepared a ridiculously large sandwich.

"You're gonna need a bigger mouth," she said and the audience that she couldn't see laughed.

Sam entered the room and applause sounded.

"Hey there, Sam," Dean asked, sugar sweetly," What's happening?"

"Oh, nothing. Um. Just the end of the world," he said, putting his hands on his hips and shaking his head dramatically.

They all gave pained laughs.

"Dean have you done any research?" Addy asked, crossing her arms and wanting to throw up from how fake she sounded.

"Just in your eyes," he replies sweetly and the audience gives a collective aw.

"Dean…" Sam scolded, again shaking his head comically.

"Son of a bitch!" Dean said, his voice cracking and the audience began laughing hysterically. All three of them turned to them and waved with grimace like grins.

"How long do we have to keep doing this?" Dean asked through a forced smile.

"I don't know," Sam said, talking the same way.

"Maybe forever," Addy said a laugh that sounded like a sob," We're gonna die in here."

The audience laughed and she lost it and shrieked," That isn't even funny!"

"Vultures," Dean mumbles and the door burst open to Cas, covered in bruises and scraped," What happened to you?"

"I don't have much time," he said through labored breath," Something is not right. This thing is much more powerful than it should be."

"You mean the trickster?" Addy asked.

"If it is a trickster," Cas said and he was flung into the wall and landed on his face as the trickster appears at the door and waves at the fake audience as the burst into louder than usual applause. Cas gets up and a piece of duct tape is on his mouth and then he's gone again.

"Thank you. Thank you, ladies," he said, blowing kisses," Sorry about that. Couldn't have Castiel ruining the show."

"You know him?" Sam asked in confusion.

"Where did you just send him?" Dean demanded.

"Relax, he'll live," he replied casually and then added with a smile," Maybe."

The audience laughed and she snapped," Fuck all of you!"

"Oooh someone's a little on edge," he said mockingly and she grabbed him by the collar and pushed him into the wall," I like it when Kitty Kat gets rough."

"Listen to me you worthless piece of shit," she growled in a voice she didn't recognize," When I get on edge I get desperate. When I get desperate I get scary and when I get scary I do things that make people lose limbs. So get us out of here! We get it! We played our damn roles!"

"Ah but that's only half the game," he said with a smile.

"What's the other half?" Sam asked behind her as she still clutched him with a fierce grip.

"Play your roles out there," he said and as her grip loosened in shock he pulled away.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Dean asked.

"Oh, you know. Sam starring as Lucifer and Addy as his queen. Dean starring as Michael. Your celebrity death match. Play your roles," he said and they stared at him.

"You want us to say yes to those sons of bitches?" Sam asked in shock.

"Hells yeah. Let's light this candle!" he said, excitement in his eyes.

"You want them to destroy the world!" she yelled at him," Are you that heartless?"

"Oh you're one to talk about heartless," he said with a raised brow," How long you gonna string Dean along before you finally give up your BS?"

"Seriously," she said with a scoff," You're comparing that to the end of the world."

"Yeah? And whose fault is that?" he asked turning his mocking stare on Sam," Who popped Lucifer out of the box? Look, it's started. You started it. It can't be stopped. So let's get it over with!"

Realization flashes in her eyes and she lets out a laugh.

"What are you laughing at brown eyes?" he asked, narrowing his gaze.

"How full of crap you are," she said with a smirk and looked to Dean," He's got a side."

"Heaven or hell?" Dean ask.

"I'm not on either side," he said and Addy saw something flash in his eyes.

"Yeah, right. You're grabbing ankle for Michael or Lucifer. Which one is it?" Dean asked.

"You listen to me, you arrogant dick. I don't work for either of those S.O.B.s. Believe me," he said, the glint turning more ferocious.

"Oh, you're somebody's bitch," Dean said and that was what crossed the line. The Trickster grabbed him by the collar and slammed him into the wall.

"Don't you ever, ever presume to know what I am. Now listen very closely. Here's what's gonna happen," he threw Dean to the ground in front of Addy and she crouched to him as she looked up at the Trickster with hatred," You're gonna suck it up, accept your responsibilities, and play the roles that destiny has chosen for you."

"And if we don't?" Sam dared ask.

The trickster grinned," Then you'll stay here in TV Land. Forever. Three hundred channels and, uh, nothing's on."

He snapped his fingers and they're in a park at night near some crime tape. She couldn't figure out why it was so much darker than usual until she reached up to see she was wearing sunglasses.

A ducked under the tape and a cop walked up to them," So, what do you think?"

"What do I think? I think go screw yourself, that's what I think," Dean said, at his breaking point.

"Uh, could you give us a sec, please? Thanks," Sam said, dragging both of them away.

"Dean, you need to calm down," Addy said gently.

"Calm down," he repeated, yanking the sunglasses off his face," I am wearing sunglasses at night. You know who does that? No-talent douchebags."

Both her and Sam can't protest that one.

"I hate this game. I hate that we're in a procedural cop show and you wanna know why? Because I hate procedural cop shows. There's like three hundred of them on television and they're all the freaking same. It's ooh, plane crashed here—oh shut up," he said, finishing his rant.

Addy sighs and then notices something and gently nudged Sam and Dean," Look at the guy over there with a lollipop. I think we've got the trickster."

"Just, um, follow my lead," Sam said and began walking towards him. As he got to the close he pulled off his sunglasses dramatically and Dean followed. Addy rolled her eyes and threw them over her shoulder, getting them out of the way.

"What do we got?" Dean asked him in a deep dramatic voice once they got close enough to him.

"Well, aside from the ligature marks around his neck, he has what appears to be a roll of quarters jammed down his throat," he explained.

"Well I say jackpot," Sam said and Addy shot him a look.

"Also, there is a stab wound to the lower abdomen," he said, snorting a laugh.

"Well I say, no guts, no glory," Dean said as Addy subtly breaks a branch off the tree.

"Well I say I'm over this," she mutters and stabs it into him from behind. He falls to the ground and another officer morphs into the trickster behind her.

"You've got the wrong guy, brown eyes," he said with a laugh and Addy tossed Sam the branch as he crept up behind him.

"Don't think so," she replied and Sam thrust it through his heart.

The scene fades to the warehouse and the trickster is lying in a bloody heap on the ground.

"Oh thank God," she muttered with a sigh.

SUPERNATURAL

Addy sat on the bed, tying her shoes as Dean talked to her while brushing his teeth in the bathroom.

"I'm worried, Addy. What that SOB did to Cas. You know, where is he?" he said, a mouthful of toothpaste.

"He's probably recovering, Dean," she called back, standing up and flipping her head over so she could tie her hair into a ponytail," We got out of that nut box so Cas had to."

When she flipped back up, Dean was standing in the threshold of the door, staring at her.

"What?" she asked with a raised brow.

"I like it better when it's down," he said thoughtfully, his green eyes so intense she had to look away.

"Dean, don't," she warned.

"Why because of Sam?" he asked.

"It's not because of Sam," she said with a sigh.

"I saw you two the other day, Addy," he confessed," I don't know why you wouldn't just tell me you two are back together but…"

She scoffed," You think we're back together?"

He frowned," You're not?"

"No," she said, shaking her head," He told me he accepted that we're over."

As soon as the words left her mouth she knew she should have kept them to herself because something changed in his eyes as he looked at her.

"Why didn't you tell me?" he asked.

He was so close to her she could practically feel him and she couldn't resist the urge to look down at his lips. She was supposed to be resisting him. She was supposed to be holding both brothers at arms length while making sure they knew she was there for them. That's what her future self had told her, but she also told her that she survived because of Dean. Dean was her steady ground and it was getting to be problem.

"I don't know," she whispered," Is that why you've been so weird lately?"

"Don't change the subject and I think you do know why you didn't tell me," he replied as she looked back up to his eyes to see that same intense stare.

"Where's Sam?" she blurted.

He was about to say something else, but frowned and said," I thought he went to the car."

"He did," she said, clearing her throat," It's been like ten minutes."

"I'll go check on him," he said and she nodded fiercely as he left the room.

As soon as he was gone she took a deep breath to clear her head. Not too long later, Dean burst back into the room and said," We're still in TV Land."

"What?" she asked with a frown,"How do you-"

"Just come on," he said and she followed him out into the parking lot to the Imapala.

"Okay it's your car I don't see what-"

"Hey Addy."

Her eyes widened as she heard Sam's voice, but she couldn't pinpoint where it was coming," Sam where…"

She looked to the car in disbelief," Oh fucking hell."

SUPERNATURAL

Addy looks around the car as they drive down the road. Dean shoots her a wary look," What are you doing?"

"Does it feel weird, Sam?" she asked, touching the dashboard slowly," Could you feel that? Can you feel us sitting inside you?"

"Addy," Sam's voice says from the car.

"Yeah," she responds.

"Shut up."

"Just curious," she said with a shrug," Anyways so obviously we didn't kill the Trickster and the stake thing don't work."

"I don't know. Maybe the stake didn't work because it's not a trickster?" Sam offered.

"What do you mean?" Dean asked.

"You heard Cas. He said this thing was too powerful to be a trickster."

"And he knew who Cas was," Addy said," I could see it. He knew him. And when we brought up the angels he…"

She trailed off in deep thought.

"What?" Dean asked, glancing at her.

"He's not a trickster," she said in realization," Hell he's not a monster at all…depending how you look at it and I know how we can get him."

SUPERNATURAL

Addy watched as Dean rummaged through the trunk, leaning against the side of the Impala.

"Okay now that's gotta feel weird," she said with a smirk and a car door opened and banged into her so she temporarily lost her balance," Mature Sam."

"You started it," he mumbled and added," Uh, Dean actually that feels really uncomfortable."

He shut the trunk and Sam said," Ow. You sure this is gonna work?"

"Nope," Dean said casually," but we got nothing and this is our best bet."

"Alright so how do we get his atten-" Sam began.

"Come on you son of a bitch! We give up dickhead! You win! We've had enough!" she screamed at the sky.

"Well that's one way to do it," Dean said and he didn't show up.

"Should I honk?" Sam asked.

He appeared in front of Addy and she stepped back, startled.

"Wow. Sam. Get a load of the rims on you," he said with a whistle.

"Eat me," he said sarcastically.

"Okay, kiddos," he said with a triumphant smile," Ready to go quietly?"

"Nope," she said, crossing her arms," We're not doing jack until you fix Sam."

"What's the difference? Satan's going to ride his ass one way or another."

Dean and Addy stared him down until he rolled his eyes dramatically and snapped his fingers. Sam emerged from the passenger seat, stretching his long limbs. Addy gave him a tight lipped smile which he returned.

"Happy?" he asked.

"Tell me one thing. Why didn't the stake kill you?" Dean asked.

"I am the Trickster," he said proudly.

"Doubtful," Addy says and holds up a match. Quickly, she lit it and threw it to the ground so a ring of fire ignited around him," In fact I think you're an angel."

"A what? Somebody slip a mickey in your power shake, kid?" he asked with a nervous chuckle, his confidence quickly fading.

"I'll tell you what. You just jump out of the holy fire and we'll call it our mistake," Dean challenged.

His façade lasted only a second longer before the scene faded and they were back in the real world. Addy let out an inaudible sigh, never so relived the plan had worked.

"Well played, ladies…and Addy. Well played. Where'd you get the holy oil?" he said, clapping slowly.

"Well, you might say we pulled it out of Sam's ass," Dean said with a smirk.

Addy snorted a laugh and Sam shot her a look," Right. Totally not funny."

"Where'd I screw up?" he asked, crossing his arms.

"Oh where to begin," Addy said with a smile," You got the jump on Cas, an angel, but it was the way you talked about the apocalypse."

"Meaning?" he asked her.

She ticked a brow," You only get that pissed that fast about your own family."

"So which one are you? Grumpy, Sneezy, or Douchey?" Sam asked.

"Gabriel, okay?" he conceded," They call me Gabriel."

"Gabriel? The archangel?" Sam asked in surprise.

"Guilty," he said, not sounding happy about it at all.

"Why?" Addy asked simply," Why give it up to be this?"

"My own private witness protection. I skipped out of heaven, had a face transplant, carved out my own little corner of the world. Till you three screwed it all up," he said, gesturing to them.

"What did Daddy say when you ran off and joined the pagans?" Dean mocked.

"Daddy doesn't say anything about anything," he replied angrily.

"Then what happened? Why'd you ditch?" Sam asked.

"Do you blame him? I mean, his brothers are heavyweight douchenozzles," Dean said and a fury flashed in his eyes.

"Shut your cakehole. You don't know anything about my family. I love my father, my brothers. Love them. But watching them turn on each other? Tear at each other's throats? I couldn't bear it! Okay? So I left. And now it's happening all over again," he yelled at them.

"You loved them so much you skipped out," Addy said with no sympathy," Yeah, I can see the affection. If you love them so much you wouldn't wanna see them die, right? So help us stop this. Help us stop the apocalypse."

"It can't be stopped," he said finally.

"You wanna see the end of the world?" Dean asked in disbelief.

"I want it to be over! I have to sit back and watch my own brothers kill each other thanks to you two! Heaven, hell, I don't care who wins, I just want it to be over," he said, utterly defeated.

"It doesn't have to be like that. There has to be some way to, to pull the plug," Sam pried.

Gabriel laughed bitterly," You do not know my family. What you guys call the apocalypse, I used to call Sunday dinner. That's why there's no stopping this, because this isn't about a war. It's about two brothers that loved each other and betrayed each other. You'd think you'd be able to relate."

Addy gasped in realization. No wonder these two had been chosen, they mimicked the original story down to a tee.

"You sorry sons of bitches. Why do you think you two are the vessels? Think about it. Michael, the big brother, loyal to an absent father," he said, looking at Dean and then to Sam," and Lucifer, the little brother, rebellious of Daddy's plan. You were born to this, boys. It's your destiny! It was always you! As it is in heaven, so it must be on earth. One brother has to kill the other."

He looked to Addy," And then there was Lilith. Lucifer didn't love her first. Michael did. She was once a God loving woman before Lucifer wormed his way in there and corrupted her beyond recognition. She was the woman who came between them. Lucifer's queen and the one Michael failed because he chose family over her. He did try to save Lilith from the dark, but in the end it consumed her."

She stared at him," I'm not her."

He scoffed, almost in a way that suggested he was sorry for her," If it goes Lucifer's way. You'll be much, much worse Adriana."

She looked away from him and glanced to Sam who wouldn't look at her. She looked to Dean who met her eyes and held her gaze.

"Why do you think I've always taken such an interest in all of you? Because from the moment Dad flipped on the lights around here, we knew it was all gonna end with you three. Always."

Dean searched Addy's determined eyes and he had his answer," No. That's not gonna happen."

She gave him a small smile that didn't quite go to her eyes but it was a start.

"I'm sorry. But it is," he said with a sigh," Guys. I wish this were a TV show. Easy answers, endings wrapped up in a bow...but this is real, and it's gonna end bloody for all of us. That's just how it's gotta be."

They fell into silence.

"So. Boys. Now what? We stare at each other for the rest of eternity?" he asked, almost amused.

"Well, first of all, you're gonna bring Cas back from wherever you stashed him," Dean ordered.

"Oh am I?" he countered.

"Yeah. Or we're going to dunk you in some holy oil and deep-fry ourselves an archangel," he threatened.

Gabriel snaps and Cas appears looking beat, bruised and bloody.

"Cas, you okay?" Dean ask as Addy gently keeps him from falling from his injuries.

"I'm fine," he said and looked to his angel brethren," Hello, Gabriel."

"Hey, bro. How's the search for Daddy going? Let me guess. Awful," he mocks and Cas simply glares.

"Okay, we're out of here. Come on guys," he says and gently puts a hand on Addy's lower back, leading her away. Cas and Sam follow.

"You're just gonna, you're gonna leave me here forever?" Gabriel ask in a panic and Addy gives Dean a meaningful look.

"Show him we're better," she whispered and gives his hand a tight squeeze.

"No. We're not, 'cause we don't screw with people the way you do. And for the record? This isn't about some prize fight between your brothers or some destiny that can't be stopped. This is about you being too afraid to stand up to your family," he said and pulled the fire alarm.

The sprinklers went off and water poured from the ceiling, drenching the angel and putting out the ring of fire around him.

"Don't say I never did anything for you," he said and with that they left for the Impala.

SUPERNATURAL

"Man I'm exhausted," Dean said, sitting down on the bed opposite Sam.

"Me too," Sam agrees.

Addy was in her own room a few doors down. She'd told them good night and closed the door without another word. Dean couldn't shake the look she'd had in her eyes when she'd closed the door.

"Do you love her?"

Sam's spontaneous question made Dean shoot his head up.

"I'm not blind, Dean," he said with a smirk," Keep in mind I know the answer already I just…I need to know for sure."

He nodded without looking at his brother.

"You know if you two…"

"Dude," Dean said, cutting him off," This is weird."

Sam shrugged," Dean the fact that I was with her first will always be there. We can't just ignore it."

"Sammy, seriously I-"

"Love her," he finished even though that's not what he was going to say," She pushes people away because she cares. All her life the people around her have suffered so she keeps people at a distance. When she can't bring herself to do that, she gets overwhelmed and she doesn't know how to handle it. She might never say I love you and part of that's my fault, but pushing you away is how she shows it. It's her way of protecting you."

"How can you be okay with this?" he asked quietly.

"Don't get me wrong at first I wanted to punch your face in," he said and noticed Dean's raised brow," Sorry, but now all I want is for her to be happy and that's not with me…it's with you. She may not know it, but it's true."

"Awesome," he said with a sigh, getting up," This has been fun, but-"

"Dean, sit down," Sam ordered with an eye roll and for once he listened," You want her than you fight for her and I mean really fight. I gave up. That was my first mistake. You on the other hand…I don't think you ever will."

"So what do I do?" he asked with a defeated sigh.

"You go to her and you make her tell you if she's okay," he said and Dean stared at him," Right now, Dean."

"Oh right," he said and Sam chuckled.

SUPERNATURAL

Addy sat in her bedroom, her head on the pillow. She was exhausted but sleep was the last thing on her mind. Too many thoughts in her head kept her awake, but one prevailed. She was determined, now more than ever, to prove them all wrong.

She wasn't Lilith. She would never be her. They were all so sure she would be and she knew she wasn't. She couldn't be. She wouldn't be. This was good. She loved it when someone told her she had to be something because then it drove her to do the opposite.

A knock sounded at the door and she knew exactly who it was. She got up and went to the door. Without hesitation she pulled it open it to reveal Dean.

"Hi," she said with a sigh and stepped aside for him to come in.

"Hey," he replied as she closed the door behind him.

"Look, Dean," she said softly," I'm okay. Really. Better than ever in fact."

He stared at her and his lips pulled at a smile once he realized she was telling the truth.

"Go get some sleep," she said with a small smile," You don't have to be my hero tonight."

"Hero," he repeated with an almost smug look.

"You know what I mean," she said, looking down," Saving me from those minor mental breakdowns I tend to have."

"You save yourself," he said, those damn green eyes staring right through her.

"Dean go sleep," she said, more for her benefit than his.

"Why didn't you tell me about you and Sam?" he asked.

"Not this again," she mumbled.

"Yes this again," he said and she rolled her eyes with a sigh.

"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked.

"You know why," she said, looking down at her feet.

"No actually I don't," he said and put a finger under her chin, tilting her face up.

"I don't know," she said like a scolded child," I just didn't think it was important."

"Really?" he asked, not believing a word she said," You thought that the one thing standing in our way going away wasn't important."

"Can we talk about this later?" she asked quietly.

"No," he said sternly, stepping towards her and she took a step back.

"What are you doing?" she asked, backing away from him each time he got closer. Her back hit the wall and Dean towered over and put both of his hands on the side of her head, effectively trapping her in.

"Why didn't you tell me?" he asked casually.

"I didn't think you needed to know," she lied.

He smirked," You know what I think?"

"Well I'm not a mind reader...at this moment," she said and he chuckled.

"I think you were scared," he said, his impossibly green eyes on her.

"I don't get scared easily," she replied and he looked down at her lips.

"I think you were scared because you didn't have any more excuses to tell me no anymore," he whispered.

"Doesn't mean I won't keep saying it," she whispered back.

"We'll see about that."

He leaned down and attached his lips to that sweet spot on her neck that he knew well by now. She let out a deep shaky breath and braced her hands on his chest.

He slowly delivered deliberate and precise kisses up her neck all the way to her ear," Just tell me when to stop."

His hands found their way to her shirt and he unbuttoned it as he continued assaulting her neck.

"We shouldn't," she said breathily.

"I want you. You want me," he said in the crook of her neck and got half the buttons undone. He explored the revealed skin and pushed his hand underneath her shirt to cup her clad breast.

She let out a quiet moan.

"I love it when you do that," he whispered.

"Dean this is..." She trailed off when he tilted her head to the side to get better access to her neck.

"Good," he finished for her, knowing full well that wasn't what she was about to say.

"Good," she repeated and he detached his lips from her neck and pulled back.

Nothing was holding her back. No one was stopping her. So why wasn't she kissing him? She grabbed the collar of his shirt in her hands and pulled him to her so she could kiss him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and he pulled her close.

His hands traveled from her waist to her hips and down to her thighs.

"Jump," he whispered and she did, wrapping her legs around his waist. He had to tilt his head up to keep kissing her as he carried her to the foot of the bed and fell back with her beneath him.

They both groaned at the friction and he continued unbuttoning her shirt as their lips moved harshly against each other. She whimpered and gasped for breath as he thrust himself between her legs.

He got her over shirt all the way off and she say up so they could pull it off and he threw it aside. The straps of her loose tank hung off her shoulder, revealing her bra straps and the top of the cups of her bra.

Slowly, he moved the straps aside, staring her in the eyes and kissed her shoulder roughly. She tilted her head back and bit her lip in ecstasy.

"Addy," he said between kisses," I need to know. How far do you wanna go with this?"

"All the way," she said breathily as she met his eyes and he smirked, leaning in to kiss her but at the last second pulled away and rolled off her and onto his feet.

"What the hell, Dean?" she yelled at him in confusion as she sat up.

He fixed his clothes and she stared at him, waiting for an answer.

"I'm giving you incentive," he said and planted a quick kiss on her lips before leaving without another word.

She was still in the same position as she stared at the door with messy hair and swollen lips as her chest heaved.

"What just happened?" she mumbled under her breath and fell back into the pillows with a groan.

Meanwhile, Dean entered back into his and Sam's room with a smile that he had to force off his face.

"How'd it go?" Sam asked from the bathroom, wiping his face.

"She's a little shaken up," Dean said with a small smirk to himself," but she'll be just fine."
