Girl's Best Friend, Part Two
"Wait a minute, Alex, slow down." Mommy frowns after Alex told her something as I'm sitting on the floor. "She wasn't a customer?"
"No, she's using the toxin." Alex shakes her head. "But she's gonna kill his father and make it look like an attack on the whole summit. She's gonna gas all of them!"
Mommy sighs quietly before Alex continues. "Nikita, are you listening to me?!" Alex sounds as if she might panic. "We've to tell Michael!"
"No." Mommy says quietly.
"Anya's on her way!" Alex says very nervously.
"If we tell Michael, he'll follow Division protocol and he'll put you and Jaden on the immediate thread." Mommy says.
"He'll call off the operation." Alex says as if she's just remembered something.
"Alex, we're this close to getting you out of Division." Mommy says as if she really wants something. "You've to go to the lab, and they've to believe you're in it."
"But the attack..." Alex sounds worried.
"I'll stop the attack." Mommy tells her. "You stay on mission, okay?" Mommy says before pulling her into a hug. "Stay strong." Mommy sounds as if she might cry soon. "Good luck."
"You too." Alex nods at her tearfully as they stop hugging before mommy comes and picks me up...

Mommy's on the phone with Michael as she's driving a car we're in. "You did what?" Michael sounds as if he can't believe what he's hearing. I don't know why, but I can hear Michael's voice very clearly.
"I told Alex to stay on mission." Mommy says.
"Nikita, if the attack is eminent, I need all the available resources on it now." Michael says.
"Yeah, I'm available." Mommy tells him. "I got your subscription and I already put the summit to the nav. I'm ten minutes out."
"You know if Percy finds out about the attack, he'll pull Alex out anyway." Michael says.
"He won't find out because he won't have time to find out." Mommy says. "Alex will call in, pretend she's trapped, it will blow up from the outside, she'll die a hero."
"Look, you can't blow up the lab, it will tip off Kalooney." Michael says. "He might accelerate the attack!"
"Or he might get spooked and call the whole thing off." Mommy says. "Michael, let me ask you something, if I'm still at Division and this is happening, who would you put on? Come on, I'm an agent all over again. Isn't that some kind of fantasy of your's?"
"Alright." Michael sighs. "I know I've said this before, but keep Infinity, and if possible, yourself safe, and I want a report when you're on the scene or we'll blow it."
"Michael!" Mommy says loudly, but Michael's already hung up. Mommy just sighs and rolls her eyes.
"Mommy, where are we going?" I tilt my head at her.
"Sweetie, we're gonna go to a place called summit." Mommy tells me. "And mommy's gonna stop something bad from happening, okay?"
"Okay." My oval-shaped face smiles as I nod...
Vision
Mommy kicked the door open angrily. I shrink back a little, and the man and woman inside the room shrunk back too.
"You!" Mommy growled at them VERY angrily. "You sold my child!"
The man and woman tried to make a run for it, but mommy quickly caught them. "Tell me where she is!" Mommy yelled at them. "Now!"
"We... We don't know." The man voice shook. He sounded VERY scared. "The woman didn't tell us anything."
"What woman?" Mommy asked quickly.
"She didn't tell us her name." The woman shook her head before looking at mommy nervously. "We're really sorry for giving your child away, but we didn't have a choice, we couldn't even feed ourselves..."
"Shut up!" Mommy hissed at her scarily, making the woman shrink back even more.
Mommy narrowed her eyes as she looked between the man and woman. "Here's how this will go, you two are going to help me find my daughter. And you better hope that she's alive and well, because if there's even a scratch on her, you two are going to wish that you sold yourselves instead..."
End vision
Mommy's holding me in her arms as she runs through a tunnel onto a different side of a building. It's nighttime, and it's cold outside. I hug mommy tightly as she runs to the back of a big white car.
Mommy opens the back door and there's a black rectangular thing that beeps and has a screen that's inside the car. Mommy quickly looks at it and presses something on it, making it beep quietly.
Then, mommy pulls a VERY short silver stick-like thing out of the top of the rectangular thing. "Sweet." Mommy murmurs.
I tilt my head quietly. "Mommy, what's sweet?"
"Something good is going to happen soon, honey." Mommy smiles at me before pressing her earpiece. I don't know what good things have to do with sweet things...
'She's contacting Michael.' Computer mama tells me before telling me what Michael's saying. 'What do you got?'
"Oh, just a nice pair of C4 bricks ready to blow up the entire summit." Mommy says.
'What about the nerve agent?'
"Nothing yet." Mommy says.
'And Anya?'
"No contact." Mommy says. "Michael, this is the same guy I saw outside Kalooney's place. This has to be part of the plan. I already disabled it, so why don't we let Alex do what she needs to do?"
'Not until you located Anya.'
"Michael, I'm here, you know I can stop this." Mommy says.
'You're asking me to risk innocent lives.'
"No, I'm asking you to trust me." Mommy sounds a little sad. "You do trust me, don't you? You know I'll do the right thing and you know I'll do anything to protect Infinity..."

"This car bomb, there's no scent, it's supposed to be a nerve gas attack." Mommy says as she's looking at the rectangular thing again.
'Frank Froyd, four years ago.' Computer mama tells me what Michael's saying. 'When we stopped that attack by the folks Volks wagon movement, corporate retreat.'
"Wait, didn't the Volks wagon have an armed assault?" Mommy frowns.
'Yes, they did. Unlike this summit, it was a larger group and an even larger space. What did they do? They blew up a car and made it seem like the terrorists were attacking from outside.'
"They timed it to go off five minutes ago." Mommy says. "So that security can herd them all in one place."
'Smaller area, could've easily gunned them down.'
"Or gas them." Mommy murmurs, sounding worried as she quickly closes the back door of the car. Then, she grabs my hand and starts running up some stairs. "I'm going on inside, is Alex back on?"
'I'll let you know when it's done.'
"Alright." Mommy sounds a little scary. "I'll call you after I take this bitch down."
But just then, another scary lady comes out and quickly punches mommy in the face. Mommy lets go of my hand and grunts before fighting back. I bite down on my red lips as I quickly back away and hide in a corner.
But as they're fighting, a man with a big gun comes running toward them. He yells something I can't understand. "Stay back!" Mommy yells back at him.
But the scary lady stops fighting mommy and grabs the man and tries to push him down the building we're on top of.
Mommy quickly grabs onto his arms. "Hang on." Mommy says, but the scary lady quickly slaps mommy hard across the face, and mommy falls to the floor, not moving.
"Mommy!" I cry as I run over to crouch down beside mommy as she's leaning on the wall. Tears run down my face as my hands touch mommy's hand. "Mommy..."
The scary lady crouches down beside me, making me squeak and shrink back as I cry. "Be quiet." She growls at me scarily. "Or I'll kill your precious mother."
I quickly put my hands over my mouth as I try to quiet down and stop crying. But it's hard, and mommy's hurt...
The scary lady walks away from us and over to the big white car. She opens the car's back door to look inside. She stays there for a while before closing the car's back door. I bite down on my red lips and try to be as quiet as possible as she runs off away from us...
I'm grabbing onto mommy's arm until the scary lady's gone. I sniffle as I turn my head to mommy and put my head on her chest. I tilt my head up so I can give her lots and lots of kisses. I want to kiss away all of mommy's hurt...

After a while, mommy starts to wake up. "Sweetie?" Mommy mumbles as she slowly opens her eyes.
"Mommy..." I whimper as I quickly wrap my arms around her with a sniffle. "I was so scared..."
"Shh... It's alright, sweetie." Mommy hugs me back as she rubs my head. "Mommy's okay." She says as she stand up while picking me up with her.
"Mommy, can we go home now?" I whine a little.
"Soon, honey." Mommy says. "I promise. Mommy's just gotta to a couple more things..."

Mommy puts me down in a safe hiding place before walking over to the scary lady from before. Mommy grabs the cellphone from the scary lady's hands and hits her face. "Round two." Mommy tells her angrily.
"Do I have to beat you again?" The scary lady raises an eyebrow.
"Cocky, I like that." Mommy says.
"Hmm... You have no idea." The scary lady says before they fight again. I gasp tearfully when she elbows mommy's face into a wall. Something in my tummy is rolling up into a tight, nervous ball...
But mommy looks like she's okay as she chases after the scary lady and throws herself onto the scary lady as they roll down the stairs. Then they start fighting again.
My almond-shaped dark brown eyes peek out from my hiding place worriedly. I hope mommy doesn't get hurt...
I start crying when the scary lady pushes mommy's body onto the stairs's edge, where the ground below is VERY far away. "No!" I cry VERY loudly. "Please don't hurt my mommy!"
Something in my chest feels as if a spiky thing is climbing upwards. It hurts and I can't stop crying. "Mommy..."
But mommy fights back and pushes the scary lady onto a wall before getting away from the stairs's edge. Their fight continues and doesn't end until mommy kicks her down some stairs and kicks her in the face before the scary lady stops moving.
I still can't stop crying as I get up from my hiding spot and walk down the stairs towards mommy. Mommy quickly rushes over to me and picks me up.
"Shh... It's okay now. Mommy's okay." She murmurs to me before walking back to the scary lady and stomping on the black cellphone she dropped.
Then she looks back to the scary lady. "And for the record, I will never lose a fight, not when my daughter is crying and crying for me..." Mommy says to her as she kisses my wet cheeks, but I don't think the scary lady can hear her...

Mommy carries me into the building we were on top of after she quieted me down. Mommy sees a glass and walks over to it. She reaches her hand into the glass and pulls out a pair of earrings.
Mommy takes off the shiny thing at the bottom of the earrings and puts it onto the table. Then, she uses the glass to crush the shiny things into tiny pieces.
But just then, a dark-skinned man walks up to us. "Those aren't from my country." He says to mommy as he looks at the crushed shiny things.
"Appearances can be deceiving, Mr. President." Mommy says. "Diamond is dust."
Mr. President stares at mommy for a moment before frowning. "Kalu May?"
"I'm sorry." Mommy says quietly before walking away. Once we're out the door, mommy smiles at me softly. "Come on, sweetie, I think we can go home now..."

"All I have to do is press a button, Kalu May, the lab, Jaden... I would have been free and clear." Alex sighs as she's talking to mommy and Michael. I'm sitting on mommy's lap.
"So what stopped you?" Mommy asks.
Alex walks over to stand in front of mommy. "You did." She says, mommy looks surprised. "I asked myself what would Nikita do."
"You know what she would do if she were you?" Mommy smiles. "Get out."
"You can still make that happen, Alex." Michael speaks up.
Then, Alex looks to Michael. "I'm staying put." She says seriously. "The day I was recruited inside Division, you told me I had a chance to make a difference. This mission... Felt right. Felt good..."
I don't really understand, but something about what's happening feels heavy...
"Do you really think Percy's going to let you hold on to that feeling?" Mommy asks.
"I don't know if I'm going to stay inside Division." Alex says. "But I'm going to stay in this fight." Then, she looks at mommy again. "Our fight..."
After that, she looks at all three of us. "You know where to find me." She says to mommy and Michael before looking at me. "Bye, Infinity." She smiles before leaving.
"Bye bye." I smile and wave as she leaves...

Mommy's holding me in her arms as she's looking out the window. "She has a right to decide for herself." Michael says as he walks over to us.
Mommy looks a little worried as she hugs me close to her. "That's what's scares me."
"I can tell." Michael almost smiles as mommy raises an eyebrow at him silently before Michael continues. "Whenever something's bothering you, you hold onto Infinity even tighter than before."
"Do I?" Mommy smiles a little as she kisses my cheek while Michael puts an ice pack on her bruised arm.
"Is mommy's arm hurting?" I pout sadly.
"No, sweetie." Mommy smiles before kissing me on the lips. "Mommy's okay."
"Are you going to tell me there's a good side to Division?" Michael raises an eyebrow at her.
"No." Mommy smiles and shakes her head. "Not unless you're running it one day."
"Or you are." Michael smiles, making mommy laugh. I wrap my arms around mommy in a hug, I like it when mommy laughs...
"Oh, I like windows." Mommy says as if she finds something funny before she looks at Michael more seriously. "You needed this, Michael. It was a good victory."
"It was." Michael nods quietly.
"And you got to boss me around again." Mommy smiles.
"Not that you listened." Michael says.
"Just like old times." Mommy laughs a little.
"Not old times." Michael smiles and shakes his head. "New times."
Then, he takes mommy's hand and holds it before continuing. "And to answer your question, yes, I do trust you, and I know you take great care of Infinity."
His words makes mommy smile as she rests her head on his shoulder while he pulls both me and her into a hug...
