In the tavern in Sublime City, on the television sets of practically every home in town and in Steadfast Stadium, the worlds sat in horror as the Sisterhood of Seven hijacked the Steadfast Championship Match. But in the meeting room of the Palace of Eternity, the six other members of the Sisterhood sat around the table, all watching through a magical orb that showed a live feed of the match.
"And so it begins." First said with a dark smile, not noticing Namine with a worried look on her face although it was hidden beneath her white hood.
"Sora…please win." She said internally. (Battle Music Cue: Forgotten Challenge – CoM) Inside the arena, Jeckt hefted his sword onto his shoulder before rearing back his foot, glowing with a bright orange light.
"You just made your last mistake, lady! You should've known better than to come after the champ!" Jeckt said before launching forward towards Second who merely glanced his direction, spinning her bo-staff towards him. Before Jeckt's attack could land, the glow around him quickly faded and disappeared so as he brought his foot around, all it did was merely strike Second's staff, the glass not even showing any sign of strain from the impact. The crowd's eyes all widened in disbelief that the attack had failed to do anything, even Jeckt was surprised.
"What the-?!" he asked before Second smiled before twirling the staff around and striking him hard across the jaw before ramming the staff into his stomach, knocking him hard across the ring. She then looked towards Isa and Gabranth, Isa snarling and letting out a feral roar as his claymore burst into its attack form. He then grabbed the claymore and leapt up into the air before swinging the claymore down towards Second but she calmly raised her staff and blocked the strike with the tip of the staff, the attack doing absolutely nothing to her.
"What?!" Isa asked, amazed that his attack had failed. Second merely thrust her staff upwards, causing a shockwave to erupt from the tip, launching Isa into the air where he landed hard near the other side of the ring.
"Take your last breath, fiend!" Gabranth said as several large glowing golden swords appeared in the air near him, all pointed towards Second before launching towards her. Second merely looked towards the swords which inexplicably slowed to a stop a little over a couple of feet in front of her. The swords just as inexplicably faded away as if they'd never appeared.
"Impossible!" Gabranth exclaimed before Second suddenly stabbed her staff into the ground, sending out a confined wave of energy along the ground towards the Judge, the wave knocking him backwards. Sora quickly dropped into his fighting stance as Second turned her gaze back towards him.
"And then there was one. Be honored, Apprentice, you have been chosen for the very highest of honors by the Sisterhood of Seven. You shall be the one to bequeath unto us, the first heart that will make one of us whole at long last." Second said as Sora glared at her.
"I'm not giving you anything until you tell me where Namine is!" Sora yelled as Second chuckled.
"Oh you needn't worry about her. She is safe and sound with us. She's with her true family now. Like the rest of us, she awaits for the heart that is promised to her." Second said as she started to approach him but Sora quickly fired off a Firaga but before it reached her, it inexplicably flickered out. Sora then proceeded to slap his armor guard and run towards her, bringing his Keyblade around to attack but Second merely blocked the attack with little effort before twirling the staff and smacking him hard upside the jaw, launching him across the ring.
"Such spirit within you, boy. I wonder who the lucky Sister will be to receive your heart. Will it be me? Or perhaps the one you've been looking for? Namine was it? Maybe you would like to give her your heart." Second said as she approached him as he lay on his back. Sora then sat up, helmet disappearing, and put a hand on his chest.
"I already have." He said, Roxas briefly manifesting over him, something that Second noticed with an angered scowl.
"What is this? I sense a Nobody's spirit within you. So you have enslaved your own Nobody. Were it not for the fact the Sisterhood wants you alive, I would sentence you to death for such a crime. Denying your Nobody the independence he deserves? How wretched a life it must be for him." Second said.
"Shut your mouth, witch." Isa said as he approached, earning an annoyed glare from Second.
"You don't know what Sora has done for the worlds. As a Nobody yourself, I suppose you would have reason for hating him as he personally has slain countless of your kind. I know because I've witnessed it. Even my own Nobody was forced back into the Darkness it came from because of Sora, and yet I don't hold an ounce of hatred towards him. If anything, I am willing to lay down my life for his, to repay him for the debt I owe him." Isa said as Second patiently glared at him. She then reached out her hand and made a crushing motion towards him with her hand. Suddenly Isa dropped to one knee in pain, catching his breath.
"What did you do?!" he wheezed. It was like all of the energy within his body was sapped away. He could barely lift his sword.
"Sit back and relax, moon boy. I find it much easier to do away with my quarry when they have no fight left within them." Second said, seemingly not noticing Jeckt as he come running in with his sword raised. She calmly stepped backwards, glaring at him as he missed and flew past, tumbling across the ground. He struggled to push himself up off the ground but even that was proving to be too much.
"Ngh! Losing to this chick? Grrr I ain't going out like this!" Jeckt grunted.
"What have you done to them?!" Sora asked as he started to get up but found his own strength was gone as well, like all of his energy had been sucked away without his even noticing. He felt tired, sleepy.
"Indolence, the inclination to action or labor if you want the dictionary version. Pure laziness if you want the simple version. As the Lady of Indolence, I can grant you as much or as little of your willpower as I want. In essence, I can take away your very will to fight. This also applies to sapping you of the very energy that goes along with it." Second explained, spotting Gabranth attempting to attack her again but he became pinned by the weight of his own armor. Sora looked around and saw most of the people in the arena were looking tired yet afraid, feeling their own energy sapped by the Second Sister by her very presence.
"As I said, I came to bear a message! We are the Sisterhood of Seven, and we are unstoppable! Now bear witness as your champions fall before us, starting with the Turk." She said as her bo-staff formed a sharp end to it, becoming a spear, as she started to approach Isa who could do nothing but glare up at her in defiant anger. In the Palace of Eternity, First sat back in her seat with a satisfied smirk. (End Battle Music.)
"And now to eliminate the competition." She mused as she watched Second start to approach Isa. Namine was watching with an increasingly horrified expression, especially as she saw Sora struggling to get up.
"Sora, get up." She whispered softly. Back in the arena, Sora arched a curious eyebrow and started looking around curiously. He'd heard her.
"Namine?" He asked before narrowing his eyes in determination and struggling to climb to his feet, grunting as he did. Second didn't notice and reared back her staff to deliver the killing blow to the defenseless Isa. But when she thrust it forward, the blow was blocked by Sora's Keyblade, the glass spearhead cracking on impact but not shattering.
"What's this?" First asked as she sat forward with suspicion. In the arena, Second glared at Sora as he held her weapon away from Isa. (Battle Music Cue: A Fight to the Death – KH2)
"I'm not going to let you kill them. I'm not going to let you take my heart. I'm not going to stop fighting you until I've done what I've come here to do." Sora said as he struggled to keep his Keyblade aloft, something which was becoming easier and easier with every passing second. Second scowled at him in annoyance and stepped back, thrusting her hand towards him in a crushing motion. Sora's knees buckled slightly before he caught himself, propping himself up with his Keyblade, his legs shaking as he struggled to stand up, slowly becoming upright, something which Second couldn't believe.
"It's not possible. How are you still standing?!" she asked, thrusting her hand towards him again but Sora continued to force himself upright, despite the weight of his own armor.
"Your power is laziness. Kairi calls me a lazy bum all the time but not when it counts. I made Kairi a promise. That I wouldn't rest until I found and rescued Namine. I promised Namine I would protect her and that's just what I'm going to do!" Sora said before standing completely upright and then dropping into his fighting stance.
"And I know who you really are! I know your true name! It's Cinderella!" Sora said, earning a confused look from Second.
"What?" she asked.
"Your name, the name of your other! It's Cinderella, a Princess of Heart! I know all of the Princesses of Heart, I know their faces! Your hair and voice might be different, but your face, I'd know it as belonging to the Princess of the Castle of Dreams! Princess Cinderella!" Sora said as Second scoffed.
"So that's her name. Now I know exactly who to kill when I finally gain my heart." Second said as Sora scowled and dismissed his Keyblade, surprising Second and the spectators.
"I can't let you do that. As a wielder of the Keyblade, the safety of the Princesses of Heart is something I'm sworn to do, and as a Keyblade Master it is my duty to stop you." Sora said, earning an amused snort from Second.
"You?! A Keyblade Master?! Don't make me LAUGH!" Second said before thrusting her hand towards him again but nothing happened much to her horror.
"What?! How is a mere Apprentice able to withstand my powers?!" she asked in disbelief. She was further shocked when Sora threw both of his arms back out to the sides, summoning Oathkeeper and Oblivion to his hands as he dropped into Roxas's fighting stance. In the Palace of Eternity, the Sisters were all stunned.
"Two Keyblades?!" Fifth exclaimed in shock, First's eye widening in abject shock. Back in the arena, Second was starting to back away in fear.
"No, no it isn't possible! How are you able to wield two Keyblades, let alone even stand?!" She asked as Sora glared at her.
"I already told you! I said I won't rest until I've rescued Namine and brought her home!" Sora exclaimed as Second, quickly took her staff in hand and took a step back before hurling it towards him like a javelin. Sora quickly sidestepped it and swung at it simultaneously, the glass spear slicing perfectly in half as it passed him and shattering upon falling to the ground, to Second's horror. He then spun back around and pointed Oathkeeper at her, instantly creating thirteen black and white clones of the Keyblade before they suddenly launched towards her. She attempted to shield herself but the Keyblade clones of Sora's Thirteenth Strike Shot Lock pierced her wrists and ankles, pinning her in place. She tried to move but could only watch as Sora came charging forward with Oblivion in hand, leaping forward and stabbing the Keyblade into the ground, swinging around on it as five stained glass circles appeared on the ground beneath them, Sora's Keyblade in the center. Suddenly pillars of pure light erupted from the windows, enveloping Sora and Second within them. (End Battle Music.) When the light faded, Sora was standing in front of Second who was on her hands and knees, catching her breath. She proceeded to stagger to her feet, glaring at Sora.
"It's…not possible…I can't…be beaten…by a mere…Apprentice." She grunted.
"Don't you get it by now, Witch?" Isa asked as Second turned to glare at him as he still lay on the floor.
"He's no Apprentice, he is the Keyblade Master." Isa said as Second snarled at him and thrust her fist out towards him but was stunned when her fist suddenly shattered like glass.
"What?! No!" she gasped as wisps of Darkness started to rise from the ground around her, the wisps starting to grow larger and larger, gradually enveloping her. She immediately knew what was happening…
She was Fading into Darkness…
"No! I can't fade! I can't! NO! NOOOOOO-!" she cried out as the darkness consumed her, her very existence fading away for good, leaving nothing behind as the Darkness dissipated. Sora stared at the spot on the floor where she had faded, saddened that she had faded but comforted by the fact that he killed her defending his friends. The arena was dead silent as the crowd and the other participants looked in absolute disbelief.
"She's…she's dead." Laguna said as reality started to slowly sink in.
"A sister is dead? He killed a sister?" Reno asked as he, Rude, and Cissnei tended to an unconscious Ren and Angelo.
"He killed a Sister! He did it! SORA DID IT!" Laguna exclaimed, ringing the arena bell before hitting a button on the console, Sora's entrance theme starting to play as the crowd erupted into raucous cheers and celebrations. The crowd began to rush the ring towards the confused Sora but Jeckt got to him first, raising his arm up in victory.
"Huh?! Hey! What's going on?!" Sora asked as they hoisted him onto their shoulders, the crowd chanting his name the whole time.
"You did it kid! You killed one of the Sisters!" Jeckt said as Reno and Isa caught up to him.
"I don't get it! What's so special about that?!" Sora asked, not quite understanding the gravity of his victory.
"Because not one Sister has died since the forming of the Sisterhood over eleven years ago! You just broke their winning streak!" Reno said as the crowd carried Sora out into the street. Sora then smiled with determination, realization sinking in. He then looked towards the sky above, taking a deep breath.
"NAMINE! I'M COMING FOR YOU!" Sora yelled into the sky. Back inside the arena, Laguna was practically dancing in place as Joshua approached with his cell phone in hand.
"I believe you want to call Master Si'Lea about this, right Pres?" Joshua asked, handing his phone towards Laguna who stopped dancing and smirked at the youth.
"You know it!" he said, snatching the phone from him.
…
Flying across the stars, Si'Lea and Aqua had been flying towards another world as Si'Lea's phone started ringing with Joshua and Shiki's ringtone.
"Hmm? An update from the Reaper's Game." Si'Lea said as she and Aqua came to a stop in space, Si'Lea answering the phone.
"Si'Lea he-!" "Si-Si-Si-Si-Si! You're not gonna believe this! You're not gonna believe this in a million years!" Laguna yelled, causing Si'Lea to recoil from the volume.
"La-Laguna! Laguna calm down! What am I not going to believe?" she asked.
"He got one! He actually got one!" Laguna exclaimed as Si'Lea's phone started vibrating and chirping with numerous different ringtones, alarming her to a flurry of text messages and incoming calls from the rest of the Reaper's Game and from the other Sublime Guardians.
"What is going on?" Aqua asked, alarmed by the number of calls and messages on Si'Lea's phone.
"He? He who? Who got one what?!" she asked, losing patience with Laguna.
"Sora! He got a Sister!" Laguna replied. Si'Lea paused for a moment.
"What do you mean Sora 'got' a Sister?" she asked.
"He killed her! Sora killed the Second Sister!" Laguna exclaimed as Si'Lea's eyes widened.
"WHAT?!" she asked, stunned yet overjoyed by the news. Aqua was a little confused by Si'Lea's reaction.
"Sora killed one of the Sisters? That's great news but I don't get why you're so-." Aqua said before Si'Lea grabbed her by the shoulders.
"Don't you see?! I've been fighting the Sisterhood for over ten years and we've had as of yet to actually defeat and kill one! Sora just did something that's never been done before! Oh, First has got to be livid right now!" Si'Lea said.
And that was the biggest understatement she could ever have made because…
Meanwhile in the Palace of Eternity…
Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth were all backing away towards the back wall in fear, Namine backing up along with them, and they were all backing away from First who stared at the looping image of Second's fading away, a look of unparalleled anger and rage in her eyes, her breathing getting increasingly heavier, and that wasn't the most frightening part. The room itself was darkening and a faint rumble could be heard as the palace started to vibrate. Namine and the other sisters could tell that this was all a result of First's anger. The very Palace was trembling with her rage.
"Uh-oh!" "She's gonna blow!" "HIT THE DIRT!" the sisters exclaimed, all ducking behind the table, Third grabbing Namine and pulling her down to the floor with them just before First suddenly threw back her head and let out a deafeningly loud and agonizingly long roar of fury. All of the Sisters were covering their ears as the Palace shook beneath them, fixtures and decorations falling off the walls, parts of the walls and ceiling cracking and falling off, the chandelier overhead swaying violently. What frightened Namine the most though was that the roar First let out was by no means human. It was the roar of a monster. Finally First's roar died down, the shaking stopping, the room lightening back up slowly. The sisters all cautiously looked up over the table, seeing First as she stood, with her hands pressed against the table, breathing heavily, head bowed forward, looking straight down.
"S-Sister?" Third asked hesitantly. First didn't respond for a moment, merely continuing to breathe heavily in anger.
"Eleven years…" First whispered finally, "…eleven years of complete and uncontested dominance. Gone. We've sent a message today, a message meant to shake the worlds."
"W-We did?" Fourth asked, confused. Namine quietly knew what she was referring to and was quietly smiling to herself.
"We sent Second to show the worlds we were unstoppable. Instead, she showed them the exact opposite. she showed them that we can be beaten, that we're vulnerable, weak." First said as the sisters gradually rose to their feet.
"What do we do? We-we can't let them keep thinking that. We can't let Second's death be in vain!" Fifth said as First's head snapped up towards them, causing them all to recoil in fear.
"And we won't. Let them savor this victory. Let them think they've won. In the meantime, we regroup." First said as she stood upright, dusting off her clothes.
"What's the plan, sister?" Sixth asked as First looked at the orb, waving her hand towards it, causing the image in the orb to shift to an image of Nixe as she and Riku traveled the woods near the Dark Castle.
"She is the plan." First said as she leaned forward towards the orb.
"Savor this victory while you can, Si'Lea, for I will savor my vengeance long after you're gone." First hissed.
End Chapter 46.
So that's one Sister down, five more to go! We don't count Namine for obvious reasons.
And yes, Second was the Nobody of Cinderella.
Oh and to get a good idea of what First's roar of anger sounds like…look up the 2014 Godzilla Roar and listen to it at full volume. Yeah…that roar.
