Chapter 22
Hey guys so I was never a big fan of the Swap Meat episode. I chose not to write it in because I felt like it would be a very boring chapter. Hope you guys like this one.
She's my cherry pie
Cold drink of water
What a sweet surprise
The song blares on the Impala's speakers as Addy straddles Dean's lap in the backseat of the Impala. She holds him down by their intertwined hands with a gentle but firm weight as she kisses his neck.
"I love this song," she whispered in his ear and gently bit his lobe, "but I love you more."
He groans and tries to break free to touch her but she keeps her grip on him tight, "Someone's being a bad boy. Good thing I'm a bad girl."
She sits up, letting him go and peels her shirt from her body. She drops it aside, leaving her in a fire red lace bra with a smirk on her face. He traces his hands up her sides as he sits up with her. She looks in his eyes and gently rakes her hands through his hair.
Put a smile on your face
Ten miles wide
Looks so good
Bring a tear to your eye
She smiled and leans in, pressing a searing kiss to his lips. She moans into his mouth as he runs his hand up her bare back.
"I love you," he whispers against her lips.
Sweet cherry pie
As the guitar rift sounds she nips at his bottom lip and says, "I love you too."
Swing it!
Addy disappears and he looks to see Anna in the passenger seat, staring back at him.
"Anna?" he asked in confusion and slight embarrassment, "This is awkward."
"This is what you dream about," she says in amusement, "It's actually kind of sweet. Dean Winchester's in love."
He sighs, "Yeah, yeah rub it in. Why are you gate-crashing my head? Why don't you just swing by the motel?"
"I can't find you," she said with a frown.
"Cas did this thing," he explains, pointing to his ribs, "We're off the angel radar."
"Cas. Right. Now, there's a friend you can count on," she said sarcastically.
"What?" Dean asked in confusion.
"He didn't tell you?" she asked and then rolled her eyes, "Of course not. Why would he?"
"Where have you been?" he asked.
"Prison. Upstairs. All the torture, twice the self-righteousness."
"Why wouldn't he have told us where you were?"
"Because he's the one who turned me in," she says and Dean's taken aback, "Don't look so shocked. He was always a good little soldier. Did anything under orders."
"I didn't know. Are you okay?" he asked, genuinely concerned.
"No," she answered truthfully, "And I don't have long. I broke out. Barely. They're looking for me. If they find me…"
"Okay. What do you need?" he asked as she trailed off.
"Meet me. Two-two-five Industrial. And, please, just hurry," she says and he wakes up with a gasp on the motel couch, Addy's head is in his lap and Sam's got his face in a book as he snores lightly on one of the beds. They'd fallen asleep doing research and she stirred lightly.
"Dean," she says, sitting up and rubbing her eyes, "What's wrong?"
"It's Anna," he says and she's wide awake now as Sam awakens as well, "She was in my dream. She needs our help."
"Is she okay?" Sam asked.
"She just escaped heaven," he said.
"Escaped," Addy repeated, "What was she even doing there?"
"Apparently Cas turned her in," Dean said gravely, "She wants us to meet her at-"
"She escaped heaven," Addy said to herself.
"Addy what's wrong?" Dean asked.
She looked between them, "We've gone up against angels before and while they are dicks. They're also warriors. Heaven is their home. It's their domain and she just…escaped. It doesn't sound right."
"You think she's not telling us something?" Sam asked.
"I think she's not telling us a lot," she clarified.
"What do you think we should do?" Dean asked with a sigh.
"I think we should call the only angel we know we can trust."
SUPERNATURAL
Addy watches as Castiel prepares the summoning ritual.
"Cas are you sure?" Addy asked again, "This is Anna we're talking about. Killing Sam is…it doesn't sound like her."
"It's true," he says.
"So she's gone all Glenn Close, huh? That's awesome," Dean says as he stops pacing and stands next to his brother.
"Who's Glenn Close?" Cas asked in confusion.
"No one, just this psycho bitch who likes to boil rabbits," he replied and Addy shot him a raised brow.
"So the plan to kill me, would it actually stop Satan?" Sam asked out of nowhere.
"No," both Dean and Addy say.
"Cas, what do you think? Does Anna have a point?" he asked the angel.
"No. She's, uh, Glenn Close," he says unconvincingly.
Addy looked to him, "Sam trust me when I say this is not the answer. Lucifer'll find one way or another to bring you back. So don't go thinking this is even an option. Go it?"
He nods but she can tell she still hasn't fully gotten through to him.
"I don't get it. We're looking for the chick that wants to gank Sam. Why poke the bear?" Dean asked.
"Anna will keep trying. She won't give up until Sam is dead. So we kill her first," he said and mixed the last of the ingredients for the ritual. He began chanting and the bowl with the ingredients began shooting red flames. Cas steps back and has to lean on the chair to keep from falling.
"I've found her," he says, looking to them.
"Where is she?" Dean asked.
"Not where. When," he corrects, "It's nineteen seventy-eight."
"What?" Sam asked, "Why nineteen seventy-eight? I wasn't even born yet."
"You won't be if she kills your parents. Anna can't get to you because of me. So she's going after them."
"Take us back right now," Dean orders.
"And deliver you right to Anna? I should go alone," he says.
"They're our parents. Cas, we're going," Dean said, his voice telling there was no changing his mind.
"It's not that easy," the angel tries to explain.
"Why not?" Sam asked, sharing his brothers tone.
"Time travel was difficult even with the powers of heaven at my disposal," he said.
"Which got cut off," Sam finishes.
"So, what, you're like a Delorean without enough plutonium?" Dean asked, fully serious.
"I don't understand that reference. But I'm telling you, taking this trip, with passengers no less…it'll weaken me."
"What if we do this together?" Addy asked Cas, speaking up for the first time in awhile, "What if you draw some power from me?"
"No matter how powerful you are there's still a part of you that is somewhat human," Cas says, "As much as it'll weaken me. It could be even worse for you."
"Addy no," Dean says, shaking his head, "It's not worth it."
"He's right," Sam agreed.
"It's my choice," she said, looking between them, "And if we can save your parents not just from Anna but…from everything. It's worth it."
She turns back to Cas, "Let's do this."
They were packed and ready to go in a matter of minutes. They stood in a circle, hands clasped. Addy was between Dean and Cas.
"Ready?" the angel asked her and she nodded as Dean gave her hand a reassuring squeeze.
"Ready," she repeats and an excruciating pain shoots through her as the angel's power mixes with her own.
SUPERNATURAL
Sam and Dean landed in the middle of the street. A car stopped just short of hitting them and the driver yelled, "Get out of the street!"
They head for the sidewalk and see Cas collapsed against a car, his nose bleeding.
"Cas," Dean exclaims and they help him to his feet, "Take it easy."
"Are you alright?" Sam asked him.
"I'm fine. I'm much better than I expected," he says and then coughs, spits out blood, and passes out.
Dean frantically begins looking around, "Where's Addy?"
"Over here," her voice calls out.
"I'll get her," he says to Sam and follows her voice around a corner to see her slumped against a wall, panting for breath, "How bad is it?"
"I just need a second," she says and he helps her to her feet.
"Addy you need to rest," he says as she tries to stay upright," We'll find somewhere you and Cas can stay-"
"No, I'm coming with you," she said tiredly.
"Addy you can barely stand," he argued.
"I'm coming with you," she repeated, looking him in the eye, "Now carry me I can't feel my left leg."
He sighs and picks her up in his arms, carrying her over to Sam.
SUPERNATURAL
Addy leans heavily on the side of the phone booth outside the motel as Sam rips a page from the phone book.
"Addy you don't look too good," Sam said, his voice filled with concern.
"You always say exactly what a girl wants to hear," she replied with a lazy smile that turned into a grimace as she gripped her side.
"Addy you need to sit this one out," he said, coming to her side.
"No," she said through gritted teeth, "I'm staying. Who else is going to keep you two from doing something stupid?"
"Addy seriously-" he begins.
"I'm fine," she said, managing to stand up and look uninjured. Dean came out of the motel and she straightened up further.
"So I paid for Cas for five nights up in the, uh, honeymoon suite. I told the manager, do not disturb no matter what. You know what he said to me? Yeah. Don't sweat it. Want to buy some dope?" he repeats with a snort, "Dope. We ought to stick around here, buy some stock in Microsoft."
"Not a bad idea," Addy jokes with a convincing smile even though it feels like her entire body is on fire.
"Yeah, we might have to if Cas doesn't recover. Is he all right?" Sam asked.
"What do I look like Dr. Angel, Medicine Woman? He'll wake up. He's, you know, tough for a little nerdy dude with wings," he says and looks to Addy, "It's not too late. Rooms are cheap here."
"I'm fine," she lied, rolling her eyes, "I just had a rough landing. Besides, if Cas and I landed as bad as we did than Anna must be in pretty bad shape too. It buys us time."
"Let's go pop in on the folks," Dean said, still not believing her but letting it go for now.
SUPERNATURAL
The house was a small, modest two story structure in the middle of the suburbs of Lawrence, Kansas. Addy smiled to herself as she got out of the backseat of the car they'd "borrowed." A sharp pain shot up her spine and it took everything she had not to double over in pain.
"Addy you-" Sam begins, but she shoots him a pleading look as Dean steps out.
"We should hurry up," Addy says, beginning to walk towards the house with great difficulty, "Anna could be here any second."
"Wait," Dean called after her, "What exactly are we gonna march up there and tell 'em?"
"Your Mom's a hunter, right?" she said, discreetly holding her side, "We tell the truth."
"What, that their sons are back from the future to save them from an angel? Gone Terminator? Come on. Those movies haven't even come out yet," he argued.
She looked for Sam to help as her side became more and more painful.
"Well, then tell her demons are after 'em. I mean, she thinks you're a hunter, right?" Sam asked as Dean turned back to him and she sucked in a breath, biting her lip so hard she thought she tasted the metallic taste of blood.
"Yeah, a hunter who disappeared right when her dad died. She's gonna love me," Dean said sarcastically and turned back just as the pain subsided, "Just follow my lead."
He walks up to the porch and rings the doorbell. Not too long later, a small blonde opens the door with a shocked look.
"Hi Mary," Dean says softly and she can tell he's holding back emotion.
"You can't be here," she whispers harshly.
"I'm sorry if this is a bad time," Dean apologized.
"You don't understand. I'm not..." she trails off as her eyes land on Sam who's giving her his signature puppy eyed look. Addy elbows him, "I don't do that anymore. I have a normal life now. You have to go."
"I'm sorry, but this is important, okay?" Addy said, gripping her side with a grimace.
Mary noticed, "Are you alright?"
A man came up behind her and looked between the three of them. Addy looks from Dean to him and instantly knows this is John Winchester.
"Sorry, sweetie, they're just..." Mary said, trying to think of an excuse.
"Mary's cousins," Dean said quickly, "Yeah, we couldn't stop through town without swinging by and saying hey, now, could we?"
Dean holds out his hand for John to shake, "Name's Dean."
"You look familiar," he said as he shook it.
"Really? Yeah, you do, too, actually, you know? We must have met sometime. Small towns, right? Got to love 'em," Dean says as fake as can be and looks to Addy, "This is our good friend, Addy and my brother Sam."
"Sam," John repeats, "Uh, Mary's father was a Sam."
Sam takes John's hand, "It's a family name."
"You okay?" John asked, addressing Addy, "You don't look too good."
"I'm fine," she said quickly, "I just, uh, took a really bad fall a few weeks back. I'm really clumsy. Do you guys have a bathroom I can use?"
"Sure let me show you the way," John says, ushering her in and he leads her to a bathroom in the house.
"Thank you," she said.
"Let me know if you need anything else," he said politely and walked off. She went inside, closed and locked the door, then collapsed onto the floor with a groan.
"Son of a bitch," she groaned as she crawled over to the toilet and opened the lid. She coughed over it and blood escaped her mouth.
"Come on," she whispers to herself as she focuses on healing whatever internal injuries she may have. He pain subsides and turns into a dull throb. She manages to pull herself up to the sink and turns the knobs so she can splash cool water on her face.
Another flash of pain, angrier than the last, shoots through her and she falls to the ground in a heap. Cas was right, the time jumps had really messed her up. Not only was her power drained, but it had done some physical damage as well. She tried to sit back up, but it was too much and she blacked out.
SUPERNATURAL
"You have to leave. Now," Mary ordered Sam and Dean as she paced back and forth the length of her living room, "Last time I saw you, a demon killed my parents. Now you waltz in here like you're family? Whatever you want, the answer is no. Leave me alone."
"You and John are in danger," Sam tried to explain.
She stopped pacing, "What are you talking about?"
"Something's coming for you," Dean said.
"Demon?" she asked, going into hunter mode.
"Not exactly," Dean began, trying to figure out how to tell her, "It's kind of hard to explain, okay? It's a…"
"Angel," Sam confessed.
She laughed in disbelief,"An angel? There's no such thing."
"I wish. But they're twice as strong as demons. And bigger dicks," Dean said with a sigh.
"Why would an angel want to kill us?" Mary asked.
"It's a long story, and we'll tell you the whole thing, but right now, you've got to trust us, and we got to go. Look at my face and tell me if I'm lying to you," he said as she searched his eyes.
"Okay. Where do we go?" she asked, finally believing them.
"Out of here. We got to move now, though," he said, "Tell John we're…Where is John?"
Mary's eyes widen as she goes down the hall to the phone where he'd last been. A note is near it telling her he left for the auto shop where he worked.
"We have to move," Sam said frantically.
"Wait where's Addy?" Dean asked with wide eyes.
"John showed her to the bathroom," Mary said, going towards the door and knocked on it. There was no answer so she twisted the knob to no avail.
"Addy are you okay?" Dean called inside, "Addy!"
Mary kicked the door in without hesitation to see her lying on the bathroom floor.
"Oh my God is she okay?" Mary asked as Dean pushed past her to go inside. He dropped to his knees, checked for her pulse, and found it beating weaker than usual.
"Addy can you hear me?" he asked and that's when he remembered they had to hurry. He picked her up in his arms.
"We should get her help," Mary said as Dean began walking towards the front door to leave.
"Trust me. She'll be okay," Dean said with a tremor in his voice and looked to Sam, "We have to get going."
SUPERNATURAL
After saving John from Anna, they drove down the road in the Impala. John driving, Mary in the passenger, and Sam, Dean, and a still unconscious Addy in the backseat as John rants to himself out loud.
"Monsters," he said in disbelief, "Monsters!"
"Yes," Mary said lightly.
"Monsters are real," he repeated as Addy stirred in Dean's arms but still didn't wake.
"I'm sorry," she said, trying to reason with him, "I didn't know how-"
"And you fight them? All of you?" he asked, still trying to wrap his mind around it.
"Yeah," Sam replied.
"How long?" he asked.
"All my life. John, just try to understand-"
"She didn't exactly have a choice-" Dean cuts in, defending her.
"Shut up, all of you! Look, not another word, or so help me, I will turn this car around!" he yelled and silence falls in the cramped vehicle.
"Wow. Awkward family road trip," Dean said to his brother.
"No kidding," Sam replied.
Addy coughed and her eyes flutter open as she gasped for air. Dean shifts her in his arms.
"Is she okay?" John asked in a gentler voice.
She groans and looks at Dean, "What'd I miss?"
He lets out a relived sigh, "Yeah, she's fine."
