Glass Houses, Part Two
We're having dinner with Dana and Charlie as I'm sitting between mommy and Michael. "Here, sweetie." Mommy smiles as she scoops me more salad. "Eat some more salad."
"Okay mommy." My red lips smile back widely as I put more salad into my mouth using the fork I'm holding.
"Careful not to poke yourself." Michael tells me softly.
"Uh-huh." I nod as I chew my salad.
"This is some pot roast." Michael smiles at Dana and Charlie nicely. "It's delicious."
"Yeah, if you don't mind reaping the planet for it." Charlie's son says grumpily as he walks back to his seat with a glass of water. "I can't believe we're still eating red meat when cow farming is..."
"Sit down and eat, Eddie." Charlie sounds a little angry as he looks at his son. "Our guests aren't interested in your views."
Eddie looks at mommy and I before looking back to Charlie. "She is. And she hasn't fed her daughter a bite of pot roast either."
"Oh." Mommy smiles a little. "Busted."
"See?" Eddie says to Charlie.
My oval-shaped face frowns a little as I don't understand... "Mommy?" I tilt my head.
"I think it's a choice people should make on their own." Mommy says before raising a hand to rub my head. "Though I might have influenced Infinity..." Mommy smiles and rolls her eyes before continuing. "She used to love chicken wings..."
"Well, if that's the case, I'd be happy to get you two something else..." Dana starts.
"No, we're fine." Mommy interrupts her quickly. "We've got the salad and all these sides, so we're good, right sweetie?" Mommy looks down at me with a smile.
"I eat everything mommy eats." I smile back as mommy pulls me onto her lap and hugs me from behind.
"She's adorable." Charlie smiles at mommy and I. My almond-shaped dark brown eyes looks at him. Is he talking about me?
"Thank you." Mommy smiles back before looking between him and Dana. "So how long have you guys been together?"
"They shacked up after my real mom died." Eddie mutters grumpily.
"Eddie, that's enough!" Charlie says angrily, making me squeak quietly and shrink closer to mommy. I don't like it when grown-ups get mad...
Mommy kisses the top of me head and hugs me tighter. "Sorry." Charlie sighs. "Seems like I scared your little one a bit..."
"Don't worry about it." Mommy smiles a little as she shakes her head. "Infinity's fine."
"Ellen passed when he was still a toddler." Charlie says. "I did the single dad thing for a while, till I pulled this one over for speeding." He looks at Dana with a smile before continuing. "And our first date on the shooting range sealed the deal. How long ago was that now?"
"Uh... Almost two years." Dana smiles, but she sounds a little nervous before looking back up at mommy and Michael. "So how long have you two been married?"
"Well, we'd Infinity before we got married." Mommy starts. "So..."
"Two months." Mommy and Michael says at the same time before smiling at each other as mommy continues. "We've been in love forever."
"So, newly weds." Charlie smiles. "Congratulations."
"Thank you." Mommy smiles before looking at Dana. "Dana, is there a restroom?"
"I'll show you." Dana says. She sounds a little unhappy.
"Great." Mommy says before putting my back down on my own seat. "Mommy's gonna be right back, sweetie."
"Don't worry, I'll keep everyone entertained." Michael says to mommy as she stands up and follows Dana out of the room...
"Come here, kiddo." Michael pulls me onto his lap. "You wanna try something other than salad?" Michael holds up a spoonful of pot roast in front of me. "It's tasty."
I scratch my straight nose and tilt my head at Michael. "But mommy doesn't eat that... Why?"
"Well, mommy prefers to just eat fruits and veggies." Michael says.
"Then I'll eat lots of fruits and veggies too." I say as I push Michael's spoon away before pointing to a plateful of fruits. "Can I have a mango please?"
Michael sighs and puts his spoon down before leaning forward to grab a mango. "Sure..."

"My time is up, I need to call in." Michael whispers to mommy.
"So call in." Mommy whispers back.
"And say what?" Michael sounds a little worried. "Whatever I say has to stand for verification. Otherwise, He's gonna think that we're involved."
"We stick to the original plan." Mommy says as she comes over to me and picks me up into her arms.
"The original plan is blown." Michael shakes his head.
"No." Mommy says. "Dana's agreed to run. All she has to do is tell Charlie the truth, get him on board, then grab the black box."
"Whoa... Wait, get Charlie on board to go on the run with his kid?!" Michael sounds as if he can't believe what he's hearing. "That is gonna take a lot of time, and we're all out of time."
For a moment, mommy doesn't say anything as she just takes out a little red thing from her pocket. "Here's her tracker." Mommy drop the thing and breaks it with her foot. "Guardian's gone, off line..."
Michael doesn't say anything and just calls someone on his cellphone. 'He's calling Percy.'
Computer mama tells me what Percy's saying. 'Michael, reassure me.'
"Guardian's off line." Michael sighs. "And she's gone MIA. Nikita's on the ground, and she's after the box. I need a strike team here, immediately." He says before hanging up.
I don't know what's happening, but I feel nervous as I hug mommy tightly...

Mommy's still holding me in her arms as she's looking out the window at Charlie and Dana as they look like they're fighting. "They've been at it for half an hour." Michael says as he walks over to us.
"She's turning his entire world upside down." Mommy says softly as she hugs me closer. "Give him a second."
But just then, Charlie rushes back into the house VERY angrily, making me squeak nervously as I shrink closer to mommy.
Mommy kisses my head before putting me into Michael's arms. "Sweetie, mommy's going to be right back, okay? You stay here with Michael." Mommy says before quickly following Charlie...
"Michael, why is Charlie mad?" I ask with a frown as mommy went to talk to Charlie.
"Because he learned something that's very difficult for him to accept." Michael sighs.
But just then, we hear Charlie shout worriedly. "Eddie..."

Michael rushes over to mommy, Charlie, and Dana with me still in his arms. "What happened?" Dana asks worriedly.
"He heard us talking about you." Charlie sighs.
"Oh my god." Dana sounds as if she might cry. "Charlie, I'm sorry, this is all my fault. Let me go find him."
"A Division team is on the way." Michael speaks up.
"We don't have a lot of time, then." Mommy sighs as she walks over to me and takes me from Michael's arms. "I'm going over to the bank, grab the black box. Michael, you run interference with the Division team, keep them at bay. Dana and Charlie, you know the town best, get in separate cars, go and find him, and when you do, get out of here as fast as you can."
Then, mommy walks away carrying me in her arms...

Mommy and I are inside a dark building as mommy's using a flashlight and taking something out of one of the many little rectangular boxes on the wall.
I don't like the dark, it makes goosebumps pop up my olive skin. "Mommy..." I whimper as I hug mommy's leg tightly.
"Shh... I'm almost done, sweetie." Mommy tells me quietly as she puts the box back into the wall just as I hear two beeps, making me gasp nervously as I grab onto mommy's leg even tighter than before.
"It's alright." Mommy says softly as she pulls out her cellphone before picking me back up into her arms. "It's just my cellphone. It's a message from Michael."
Mommy reads the message, but I don't really know what it says. 'Eddie's at hardware store on Green Street.' Computer mama tells me.
"Come on, sweetie." Mommy says as she hugs me close to her. "Let's go get Eddie..."

Mommy takes me into another dark building, but I feel better than before because mommy's holding me. I hug mommy. "Mommy, what are we doing here?"
"We're here to get Eddie." Mommy tells me before she turns the lights on and we see Eddie standing across the room from us.
"You sure you want to be doing that?" Mommy asks him.
"You're not going to call the cops, are you?" Eddie says nervously.
"Well, I can't make any promises." Mommy smiles at him as she walks over to him. "But tell me what the plan is. Grab a Greyhound bus to the nearest city, and then what? Start a vegan punk band?"
"Sounds better than staying in this crappy town with my dad and his psycho girlfriend." Eddie says grumpily.
"True." Mommy sighs with a smile. "Wanna know how psycho she is? There's a bunch of bad guys out looking to kill her, and instead of running, she's looking for you. What a psycho..." Mommy sounds as if she doesn't really believe what she's saying.
"She's probably trying to erase the evidence." Eddie shakes his head.
"She cares about you, and your dad." Mommy smiles and shakes her head before sighing. "Look, my mom wasn't really my real mom either. I grew up in a foster home, but she loved me from the day she met me till the day she died. I know it's hard for you to understand this right now, but when you find people like that, you got to hold on with everything you got..."
Eddie just stares at mommy silently for a few seconds before putting back some money he took. "You ready?" Mommy smiles at him.
"Yeah." Eddie nods before mommy leads him out of the room and turns off the lights. Mommy's still holding me in her arms as she and Eddie walks towards the door before there's a squealing sound coming from outside.
Mommy quickly pushes Eddie into a hiding spot and hugs me close to her just as someone starts firing their guns loudly at us. "Mommy!" I'm very scared as I scream and hug mommy tightly.
Mommy and Eddie quickly runs and hides behind a table. "Shh... Don't worry, sweetie." Mommy whispers in my ear as she rubs my head.
"Hold your fire!" I hear Michael yell loudly before the gunshots stop. I bite down on my red lips silently. I don't understand. Aren't mommy and Michael friends?
"Mommy, Michael's outside..." I start quietly as mommy holds me tightly to her.
"I know." Mommy murmurs as she takes out her handgun.
"Mommy, what's happening?" I start to grow nervous.
"It's alright, honey." Mommy kisses the top of my head. "Mommy's gonna keep you safe..."
Then, mommy puts me down on the floor and moves to the edge of the table and looks out. "I'll give you the black box if you let Infinity and the other kid go!"
"That's fine." Michael yells back. "Let them go and then we'll deal with the box."
Then mommy looks back to me and Eddie. "Sweetie, you're going to go with Eddie..." Mommy starts.
But her words makes my eyes grow wet as I start crying a little. "No, I don't want to leave mommy..."
"Shh..." Mommy says as she touches my face and kisses me on the lips softly. "We'll be together again as soon as those men are gone, sweetie, I promise."
Then, mommy looks at Eddie. "Be careful, and hold Infinity's hand, okay?"
"Come on, sweetie..." Mommy tells me gently as I sniffle and cry as I stand up on my feet before Eddie holds my hand and we walk out of the dark building.
But I keep turning my head back towards where mommy's hiding and I cry harder...
Just then, a scary man quickly grabs me and pushes Eddie away. I scream and cry as I try to wiggle out of his arms. He points a gun to my head. "Nikita! Come out now!"
Something inside of me feels as if it's frozen and very empty. "Mommy, Michael, help me!" I scream VERY loudly and I can't stop crying anymore.
"What in the world are you doing?" Michael sounds VERY worried and angry.
"Nikita will do anything for her precious daughter." The man says. "This kid's our ticket to both Nikita and the black box."
"Percy wants Infinity alive!" Michael growls. "You put her down right now!"
But the man doesn't listen to him. "Nikita! You're gonna come out, and you're gonna let us restrain you, or I blow your little princess's brains right out of the street. I'm going to count to three!" He yells. "One, two..."
But before he can say three, there's a loud gunshot...
Something in my chest feels as if a VERY big ball is stuck inside and I feel as if something in my tummy is about to blow up. "Mommy!" I scream and cry as loudly as I can. "Help me!"
I feel myself starting to drop towards the ground when the man stops grabbing onto me... But Michael catches me with one arm as his other hand is holding a handgun. He's pointing it at the man who was grabbing at me before.
That man is now laying on the ground, but so is all the other men that's with him. None of them are moving anymore... 'Michael shot them.' Computer mama tells me.
I can't stop crying anymore... "Shh... It's alright now." Michael hugs me and rubs my head. "You're safe now."
But something in my throat feels like a broken fan. "Sweetie..." I turn my head quickly when I hear mommy's voice calling out to me.
Mommy quickly runs up to Michael and I. "Mo... Mommy!" I cry with a scream before that broken fan in my throat feels even more stuck than before, making me cough REALLY hard.
Mommy quickly pulls me from Michael's arms and into her own. She hugs me tightly and kisses my lips and wet cheeks. "Don't cry like this, sweetie. You're gonna get sick..."

Mommy's sitting on a staircase as she's rocking me in her arms to quiet me down. "Shh..." She tells me softly as she kisses away my tears. "Everything's alright, sweetie."
"Mommg, hug-hug." I sniffle and hiccup as I wrap my arms around mommy tearfully. Michael's standing a little further away from us as he's talking with Dana.
"Are mommy and Michael friends?" I ask mommy as I wipe my wet eyes with the back of my hands.
"Not just friends, honey." Mommy smiles. "We're family. All three of us."
"Is Michael going to be my daddy?" I tilt my head with a little smile.
"Yeah, he is." Mommy smiles softly. "You would like that, wouldn't you?"
"Uh-huh." I nod a little more happily. "Michael's my favorite." I say before turning my head and brushing my lips on mommy's cheek. "But I still love mommy the most."
"I love you the most too." Mommy whispers in my ear happily before kissing the top of my head.
Just then, Michael walks back over to us as Dana, Charlie, and Eddie are leaving. He's holding the thing that mommy and him calls the black box and a small glass tube-like thing that has something red in it.
"I got the black box and the blood sample." Michael tells mommy as he holds them up for her to see.
"I really hope we can crack that thing." Mommy sighs. "Otherwise, we're going to need new leads on sparrow."
"I'm sorry." Michael looks at mommy seriously.
"For what?" Mommy frowns.
"I can make plans for the worst case scenario, no problem." Michael sighs. "But when it comes to planning ahead for positive outcomes, I'm just not used to that. It does not mean I don't want one. It's just... It has been a long time since anything as good as you and Infinity has happened in my life."
Mommy looks at him with a tearful smile before touching his face. I giggle quietly as they make kissy faces at each other. "What are you giggling at?" Michael smiles and tickles my tummy once he and mommy stops kissing.
I giggle harder as I reach my arms out towards him. "Michael, hold me." I say before he takes my from mommy's arms and into his own.
He wraps an arm around mommy and pulls her close to him too. "Come on, let's go home..."

Vision
Amanda and Alex are sitting in the room I had been in before when Amanda was talking to me.
"Well, your story seems to match up with the geography of Jaden's jacket this evening." Amanda says. "But I have to say, Alex, I'm somewhat shocked by all this. I thought you and Jaden were becoming friends."
"Jaden never wanted to be my friend." Alex shakes her head sadly.
"But after what happened in Switzerland, I'm sure..." Amanda starts with a frown.
"She thought I made her look bad." Alex doesn't let her finish. "That she couldn't save herself. She's always had it in for me, she was just biting her time."
"I suppose it would make sense that someone with her psychological make up would resent you for your help." Amanda shrugs. "You must have wounded her pride more than I've imagined."
"Are we finished?" Alex looks as if she might cry soon.
"Yes." Amanda says before Alex stands up and is just about to walk away before Amanda stops her. "Alex, one more thing." Amanda says as she stands up too. "Are you familiar with our new code clear implants?"
Alex shakes her head silently before Amanda continues. "Division's been developing them for sometime." Amanda says. "They go into the subject's ear, and they're virtually undetectable, even to the person they're planted on."
Then Amanda plays a recording of Alex. "Nikita, I need your help." Alex sounded as if she was crying. "Jaden came over and we got into an argument, she tried to kill me!"
Alex tries to fight Amanda, but Amanda easily pushes her down onto the floor. "How much longer did you think you can hide who you really are, Alexandra?" Amanda says scarily as she stands over Alex.
Amanda drops a watch onto the floor beside Alex as she presses a foot over Alex's neck. Something in my tummy feels as if many little balls are rolling around.
I feel as if I might cry soon. Is something bad is going to happen to Alex?
But just then, Wendy's voice sounds. "I thought you said that you are going to leave her to me, Amanda." Wendy crosses her arms as she's leaning on the open door.
"I am." Amanda smiles a little before lifting up her foot. "She's all your's..." Amanda says before she walks away as Wendy walks over to Alex.
"It's time you and I have a chat, Alexandra Udinov." Wendy says with a crooked smile...
