Jasper/Jiper (Would this fandom just pick a name?!)

" How have you never played before?" I asked. We were walking around a park in California.

Jason shrugged. " I just haven't. Most of the games I played were war games. Capture the flag, War, Paintball. My favorite Hide and don't get killed."

" Hide and don't get killed?" I asked. That was disturbing.

He smiled. " We would get the lares upset and hide from them. And occasionally Terminus."

" Well that's less disturbing than what I thought. But still, no sports? Not even track?"

He laughed and pulled me close. " In case you missed it, the camp is place where everyone thinks war could start at any second. So things like sports just weren't justified since, according to the lares 'sports won't stop a knife from going into your gut.'"

I laughed. " Well that is why I am going to show you how play baseball today."

" Piper I've seen baseball played before. If you want to teach me everything you're going to need a lot more people."

I smiled. Even after war and everything, he could still be impossibly dim sometimes.

" I know that genius! I'm going to show you the part we only need two people for. I'm going to show you how to hit a ball."

We kept walking until we reached an empty diamond. It was a clear day without a single cloud in the sky. And it was bright. Jason had a pair of sunglasses on while I manged without either. I wasn't the only in the way of the sun today.

" I think it's pretty simple Piper. I swing the bat and hopes that it hits the ball. Unless there is some secret trick to it that you know."

I walked over to the pitcher's mound. We had three balls. So what I really hope is that he doesn't tap them.

" Okay. Then prove it."

He took off his sun glasses. " Gladly. And just to prove that I know what I'm doing, I'll do it with the sun in my eyes." He walked over and handed me his glasses.

I put them on. " Okay. But you don't get them back until you hit it... to the fence. And an real good hit. Not some flimsy grounder."

He laughed and twirled the bat around. " Would you like me to do it one-handed as well? Perhaps make you a flower crown too?"

I smirked. " Watch it Grace. I might not get it in the strike zone if your ego gets any bigger."

" Okay. Well then let's get this over with."

He took a stance which was sloppy to be honest. If he couldn't at least get his stance right, how did he think he would win this bet?

" Alright. But you only get three chances. Then I get to show you how it's done properly."

He groaned. I picked a ball up and threw it right down the middle. He managed to hit it but it was small grounder that went straight to first.

" Common Grace. You can do better than that!" I teased.

I threw another strike and he completely missed it.

" Last one!" I decided this one would be a fun one. My dad is a sports fanatic and he showed me how to do a curve ball when I was little. Needless to say, I'm pretty good at throwing one.

I threw it and he hit it but it went up and hit him on the head.

I walked over. Jason was rubbing his head.

" You're fine. Might just have a headache. So what were you saying about being able to hit? That you could do it without these sunglasses?"

I had wounded his ego a bit. But it was needed.

" Alright. I get it. I'm a big-headed egotistical idiot. But you know what?" Jason said.

" What?"

" I don't think you're as skilled as you think. So why don't you prove it."

I smiled at the challenge. " Gladly." I took the bat and handed him the balls. He walked over to the pitcher's mound.

" Hey. If I didn't wear shades when I was hitting then you don't get to either."

I laughed at how petty he was being. " Fine. Look, there going right here in my pocket. Now stop talking and get throwing!" I shouted.

He threw the first ball and I hit it right to the edge of the infield. The next one I decided I would tease him by missing.

He smirked as he threw the last one. But I wiped the smirk right off. I hit it to the outfield and got it almost to the fence.

" And that was without sunglasses." I said.

" You're a mean person." Jason said plainly.

I scoffed. " And how exactly am I mean?"

" You could have just hit all three, maybe hit one a little into the outfield. But no, you just had to hit it to the fence. And show me up. That is just mean. And you still haven't given back my sun glasses."

I laughed and walked over.

" Alright. If you hit it past the in field I will give them back. But only if you do that." I said.

I quickly kissed his cheek and shoved him towards the batters box. I threw the first ball and he hit it inside the infield. The next one though, he not only hit it out of the infield nearly to the fence.

" I think I win."

" Hit to the fence one more time and I might give you a kiss. But if you don't, I keep the sun glasses and you don't get a kiss for the rest of the day. Not even on the cheek."

He smirked like he was going to win. I threw the ball and he hit past the infield. Just a quick fact. When he does use his powers he typically isn't good at hiding that he's using them. So when a huge gust of wind blew through I knew it wasn't just coincidence that it happened to be exactly where he was and that the ball happened to go past fence.

" You're a dirty rotten cheater Grace." I said.

He smiled. " How? You never said I couldn't do that. Now my sun glasses and that kiss please."

I put them back on. " No. Not only did you cheat but I think I like these."

Jason laughed a bit and put the bat down. " You like them? Well that's a problem."

" How is that?" I asked.

" Because those are my favorite. Now please hand them back." Jason asked again. He held his out and leaned on the bat a bit.

I sighed and walked over. I took them off. And had barely laid them in his hand before he shoved them in his pocket and kissed me.

I kissed him back slightly. While we were kissing I slipped my hand in his pocket and took the glasses out.

He barely even noticed that I moved.

I broke off the kiss but stayed close to him.

" Want to know a secret?" I asked.

" What?"

I pulled my hand out and showed him the glasses. " I win." I slipped them on and smiled broadly.

" You are the worst. How did I end up with someone like you?" Jason smiled.

I laughed. " Just fate a guess. And the best part is that you're never going to get rid of me."

Jason smiled and kissed my neck lightly.

" I guess you're right. It would be hard to get rid of you. Because I don't think anyone could handle you and your crazy antics."

" Then it's settled. I get to keep the sunglasses and you have to deal with me for the rest of your life."

Jason smiled wider and said. " So does that mean when I die, I don't have to be with you any more?"

I punched him lightly. " Do you really think I'm going to leave you alone when you die? When we die I will still bug you and scare off any girl who so much as winks at you."

He laughed lightly and kissed me again. Slowly he put his hands on my face and pulled me deeper into the kiss. Suddenly he pulled away and took the sunglasses from me.

The rest of the day went like this. And by the time he dropped me off back at my place did I realize that, not only did I have the sunglasses but we left the bat and balls at the diamond.
