Chapter 35
"O.K. Did that …holy crap!" Dean yelled as Addy flopped back on the bed.
"Yeah, tell me about it. By the way, next time I say let's keep driving, uh, let's keep driving," Sam said sarcastically.
Addy sat abruptly, "Oh you mean next time we get kidnapped by a god convention as a bargaining chip, Sam?"
"So what's our next move?" Sam asked.
"I don't know," Dean admitted, "Grab those poor saps outta the freezer, I guess? Bust 'em out? Gank a few freaks along the way if we're lucky?"
"And when are you ever lucky?" Gabriel asked, appearing beside Addy on the bed and throwing his arm around her, "Hey sweetheart. How you doin'?"
She shoved him away with an eye roll and stood up, "Bite me jackass."
"Is that a promise?" he asked, wiggling his brow and smirking.
"Watch yourself," Dean warned, "I should've known. I mean this had your stink all over it from the jump."
"You think I'm behind this? Please. I'm the Costner to your Houston. I'm here to save your ass."
"You're helping us?" Addy asked with a scoff.
"And I respect full repayment," he replied with a wink and Dean glared at him, "Addy do me a favor and call off your pit bull. I'm trying to help. Those guys are either gonna dust you, or use you as bait. Either way, you're uber boned."
"Wow, 'cause a couple of months ago you were telling us that we need to "play our roles". You're uber boning us!" Dean yelled.
"Oh... The end is still nigh. Michael and Lucifer are gonna dance the lambada, but not tonight. Not here."
"Why the hell do you care?" Addy asked, crossing her arms and he looked away, "You're hiding something."
"I don't care," he said and she smirked, "But, me and Kali we, uh, had a thing. Chick was all hands. What can I say? I'm sentimental. "
The brothers shot him a look.
"Do they have a chance? Against Satan?" Sam asked and Addy spun to him.
"Really, Sam?" Dean asked in disbelief.
"You got a better idea, Dean?"
"How about not using you as Lucifer bait," she said frantically, "Are you crazy?"
"Curly tops right. It's a bad idea. Lucifer's gonna turn them into finger paint. So let's get going while the going's good, hmm?"
"O.K. Great, why don't you just zap us outta here then?" Dean asked.
"Would if I could, but Kali's got you by the short and curlies. It's a blood spell. You three are on a leash."
"What does that even mean?" Addy asked, growing frustrated.
"It means it's time for a bit of the old black magic," the angel said and spritz his mouth with breath spray.
"Okay, yeah. Well, whatever. Well, we're gonna take the hors d'oeuvres in the freezer with us."
"Forget it. It's gonna be hard enough sneaking you mooks outta here," he protested.
Addy exchanged a look with Dean and started walking towards Gabriel, "What was it they called you? Loki? They don't know "
"Told you. I'm in witness protection," he said, narrowing his eyes.
"O.K., well then how about you do what we say, or we tell the, uh, legion of doom about your secret identity. They don't seem like a real pro-angel kinda crowd," Dean said, stepping beside her.
"I'll take your voices away," he countered.
"We'll write it down," Addy said with a smirk.
"I'll cut off your hands."
"Well then, people are gonna be asking, Why are you guys running around with no hands?" Dean said.
"Seems to me like whatever you do you're the one who's uber boned," Addy said with a smile.
Gabriele looked between the two of them, "I liked you two better when it was just awkward sexual tension…Fine! You can have your way."
He disappeared and they looked to each other.
"Alright let's get going," Sam said.
SUPERNATURAL
Their rescue did not go well at all. They managed to kill one god but were intercepted by others after waiting for Gabriel too long. Now they were thrown back into their chairs in the ballroom, Gabriel bound to a chair of his own.
"How long have you known?" Gabriel asked Kali as she stared down at him with no emotion.
"Long enough," she replied.
"How's the rescue going?" Dean asked sarcastically.
Kali turned back to the gods, "Well, surprise, surprise. The Trickster has tricked us. "
"Kali, don't," Gabriel pleaded.
"You're mine now. And you have something I want," she slid her hand into his jacket and pulled an angel blade from his jacket, "An Archangel's blade. From the Archangel, Gabriel."
"Okay, okay! So I got wings, like Kotex. But that doesn't make me any less right about Lucifer," he tried to reason.
"I'm not a spy. I'm a runaway. I'm trying to save you. I know my brother, Kali. He should scare the living crap out of you. You can't beat him. I've skipped ahead, seen how this story ends-"
"Your story. Not ours," she said with malice as she slid herself into his lap and glared into his eyes, " Westerners, I swear. The sheer arrogance. You think you're the only ones on earth? You pillage and you butcher in your God's name. But you're not the only religion, and he's not the only God. And now you think you can just rip the planet apart? You're wrong. There are billions of us. An we were here first. If anyone gets to end this world, it's me. I'm sorry.""
And for the first time showing actual emotion, Kali stabbed the angel blade through his chest and in a flash light and a scream he died.
"Well that was dramatic," Aphrodite said, leaning on a chair and picking at her nails, "Now I may have a pretty face but I'm not stupid. Killing an angel. A brother of Lucifer. He's going to be pissed. We just pissed off Lucifer."
"So?" Kali asked indifferently, removing herself from the angel's lap, "This blade means they can die. We can kill Lucifer. "
"All right you primitive screw heads, listen up," Dean shouted, standing up and gaining the full attention of the room.
"Dean sit down," Addy whisper yelled at him.
"Are you outta your mind?" Sam asked.
"I'm outta options," he whispered and then turned back to the gods, "Now on any other given day, I'd be doing my damndest to, uh, kill you. You filthy murdering chimps. But, uh, hey, desperate times. So even though I'd love nothing better than to slit your throats, you dicks, I'm gonna help you. I'm going to help you ice the devil. And then we can all get back to ganking each other, like normal. You want Lucifer, well, dude's not in the Yellow Pages. But me and Sam, we can get him here."
Addy looked from Dean to Sam to the reaction of the gods. She was ready for their wrath combined to come down on them but instead Kali asked, "How?"
"First you let those main courses go. Then we talk. We can either take on the devil together, or you lame-ass bitches can eat me. Literally."
Addy looked at him with wide eyes and whispered, "Are you insane?"
"You know it," he said with a wink and she shook her head, a small smile on her lips nonetheless.
SUPERNATURAL
"Do you even know what you're doing?" Aphrodite asked as Addy paced back and forth.
Kali and Baldur looked at her and Sam expectantly.
"We're the only ones with a connection to him so…" she trailed off, "I guess we'll figure it out."
"That's not good enough," Kali said, taking a menacing step towards her.
"Hey I want to get rid of him as much as you do," she replied, refusing to be intimidated by her.
She scoffed, "Or are you taking after your doppleganger's footsteps and whoring yourself to him for power."
"Look bitch," Addy said, stepping straight up to her and glaring into her eyes with more fear than Kali could ever induce, "I'm not Lilith. I will never be Lilith. I may have her face and I may have her power but it ends there. Next time you call me a Lucifer whore, slut, the terms are interchangeable really I will make you look like an ant compared to me. So I'll tell you this once and only once back the fuck off. I am tired of everyone assuming I'm his little bitch because I'm not and I'll be damned if I let some scared, pathetic, puny little goddess with a few extra hands scare me into doing her will. I do what I want when I want and I will figure out a way to summon Lucifer when I want to."
Kali didn't blink an eye as they stared down, "Do you know who you're talking to?"
"Yeah and I don't give a fuck," she said, cocking her head to the side, "but try me one more time and you'll know exactly who you're talking to. Got it?"
Kali smirked, "Got it."
"I'll agree with you on one thing," Aphrodite chimed, a smile on her beautiful face, "Lilith never had the guts to do anything like that."
"That's all I wanted to hear," Addy said, shooting Kali one last look and backing down.
"Show's over," Dean said, barreling into the room, "Sword's a fake, and Gabriel, he's still kicking. I hate to break it to you, sister, but you've been tricked."
"And he's going to help us?" Addy asked hopefully.
Dean shook his head and watched the pure fear roll into her eyes, "Addy it's okay we'll get out of here."
"He's here," she whispered just as the lights began to flicker.
"What's happening?" Baldur asked.
"Lucifer's here," Addy said louder this time, "Lucifer is here and he is coming for us!"
"Addy calm down," Dean said, putting his hands on her arms and making her look at him, "It's okay."
"How the hell did he get here?" Aphrodite asked in a panic, "We didn't summoned him."
"Does it matter? Shazzam us outta here, would ya?" Dean asked, pulling Addy close.
"We can't," Baldur said and the doors flew open, Lucifer sauntering in with all his ugly glory.
"Of course you can't. You didn't say mother, may I?" he mocked and looked to the hunters and met eyes with Addy as Dean pulled her so tight she wasn't sure if she couldn't breathe because she'd stopped or his grip was too tight, "Sam, Dean, good to see you again. Little rose you look as beautiful as ever. Hope Dean's keeping you happy. Don't get too comfy because that'll be me soon."
"Lucifer nice to see you again," Aphrodite said with a smirk, "Seduced any innocent girls lately."
Lucifer chuckled," Aphrodite, beautiful as ever. You and I both know Lilith was no innocent."
"She was until you got your slimly, disgusting tentacles on her you pathetic-" it was the first time she'd seen the goddess get mad and when Lucifer snapped and her head blew into microscopic blood pieces on the wall she knew it was the last.
"She always was annoying."
She stared at him, paralyzed because he'd never been so close and she never wanted him to be this close again.
Baldur got a wild look in his eyes as he advanced on the fallen angel.
"Baldur, don't!" Kali called to him.
"You think you own the planet? What gives you the right?" he growled and before he could even get a hit in Lucifer's bare hands tore his heart from his chest and a hole through his body
"No one gives us the right, we take it," he said and threw his body aside carelessly, blood caked on his arm.
Kali suddenly lit up in flames and Dean pulled her for cover behind an overturned table as she threw her fire at Lucifer doing no damage.
"You okay?" Dean asked her and Sam.
"Not really. Better late than never, huh?" Gabriel asked, appearing next to Addy with a nervous smile. He handed her a DVD, "Guard this, with your life."
He disappeared and went to save Kali to the shock of Lucifer, "Lucy, I'm home."
"Guys!" he called out to them, "Get her outta here."
Sam grabbed Kali and Lucifer stared after Addy as they fled the ballroom.
Dean led her through the motel because she wasn't sure she could trust her mind right now. Her whole body felt numb and she shuddered in his grip. He was calling her name as he led her into the Impala and they drove away but she didn't respond. Kali sat next to her in the backseat and once they were far enough away she disappeared without a word.
"Addy," she heard Dean call again, "Addy talk to me. You okay."
She met his eyes in the rear view mirror, "I don't know."
SUPERNATURAL
They were parked near a gas station in the middle nowhere off to the side of a dirt road. Sam had run into the mini mart to pick up some water and Addy clutched the DVD Gabriel had given her in her hand. Dean stood in front of her so close his warmth was more comfort than his touch.
"You can talk when you're ready," he said gently.
She opened and closed her mouth trying to find her voice," I…I don't know how to…I'm…he was right in front of me and I just froze. Looking at him doesn't just make me scared."
"Addy what do you mean?" Dean asked in alarm.
"Looking at him makes me wonder what it would be like to stop trying so hard not to be like him," she said with wide, fearful eyes, "Looking at him makes my Dark side move. I can feel it. It's been dormant for so long and I see him and it moves."
"Doesn't mean anything," he said simply.
"But Dean I-"
"Addy listen to me," he said, gripping her face in his hands, "It doesn't mean a damn thing. Lucifer is evil and the Dark senses when it's near. That's it. End of story. You're not going Dark. You're not bad."
"But-"
"But nothing. You are good. You are beautiful and you have a huge heart that gets you in trouble but I wouldn't have it any other way. A bad person wouldn't put their life in danger for the sake of others and as much as it drives me crazy that you think rarely think with your head I wouldn't have it any other way. I never want you to stop driving me insane. I love you crazy woman. Got it?"
She nodded with teary eyes, "Got it."
"Not scared?" he asked.
"Not scared," she whispered back.
"Good because I promise I won't stop fighting until you have nothing to be afraid of."
"There'll always be something to be afraid of," she said sadly.
"Than I'll never stop fighting for you," he replied and kissed her forehead, pulling her into his arms as she wrapped her arms around his waist.
She breathed in the scent that was purely him and always comforting, "What are we gonna do?"
"Watch that video and hope Gabriel left something useful on it," he replied, stroking her hair.
She pulled back from him and grabbed her laptop from the backseat. She set it down on the top of the car just as Sam came running up to them with a plastic shopping bag.
"You watch it yet?" he asked as she popped the DVD in the tray and into the computer.
"No but we're about to," she said, dreading its content and she played the movie.
After a disclaimer about all the performers being over eighteen, sappy porno music began to play. Addy frowned and glanced at Dean with a raised brow. A scantily clad woman lounging on a bed and writing in a journal came to view and she rolled her eyes.
"Dear Diary, being a high powered business president is super-fun. But sooo exhausting. Sometimes, I just need to relax. I need Casa Erotica."
"This better be worth it," she mumbled under her breath.
"Room Service," an off screen voice called.
"Come in!" the woman called back.
"Gabriel wanted you to guard this with your life?" Sam asked her with the same skeptic look she wore.
"Maybe he's a fan. It is a good one," Dean said and both her and Sam gave him an annoyed look.
On the screen, the door opens and Gabriel walks in wearing a comical mustache and pushing and holding a food tray.
"I've got the kielbasa you ordered," he said dramatically.
"Ooh. Polish?"
"Hungarian," he answered and tossed the tray aside with a loud clatter.
Addy grimaced as he began kissing the woman and feeling her up on screen, "Please tell me this isn't a wait until the end thing."
"What the hell's going on?" Sam asked in confusion.
Suddenly, Gabriel looked to the camera and removed his mustache with a smile, "Sam, Dean, curly top. You're probably wondering what the hell is going on. Well, if you're watching this, I'm dead. "
At those words Addy felt an undeniable pang of sadness. He had been a pain in the ass but in the end he'd done the right thing…and he could be funny.
"Oh please! Stop sobbing, it's embarrassing for all of us," he said sarcastically, "Without me, you've got zero shot at killing Lucifer, sorry! But you can trap him. The cage you sprung Lucifer from? It's still down there. And maybe, just maybe, you can shove his ass back in. Not that it'll be easy. You gotta get the cage open, trick my bro back into it. And uh, oh yeah, avoid Michael and the God Squad. But hey, details, right? And here's the big secret, Lucifer himself doesn't even know the key to the cage? It's out there. Actually it's keys, plural. Four keys, well, four rings. From the Horsemen. You get 'em all, you got the cage. Can't say I'm betting on you boys. But, uh, hey! I've been wrong before."
Addy's eyes got wider and wider with each of his words. Renewed hope flooded through her. They could stop him. They could win this fight.
"And Dean, you were right. I was afraid to stand up to my brother, not anymore," he said and stood up, "So this is me, standing up. And this is me laying down. Addy avert those pretty eyes of yours."
He grabbed the woman and threw her onto the bed. Before it go any further Addy slammed the laptop shut and looked to the brothers, "We can beat Lucifer…we just need the Horsemen rings."
"Well we got War's. We nicked Famine's. That's two down. All we need is Pestilence and Death. " Dean said, sounding more skeptical with each word.
"Oh, is that all?" Sam asked sarcastically.
"It's a plan," Dean deadpanned.
"It's our only plan," Addy said with a sigh, "but it's all we got so we go in with our all and hope for the best."
