Bruce ignored that. The entire family walked upstairs to Jason's room. Bruce knocked on Jason's door and stepped back an inch. The door opened and Jason stood before them.
"Yeah?"
"Jason..."
"What?"
"Why are you taking college classes?" When Bruce asked the question, Jason gave him a weird look.
"What?"
"You're scaring us Jaybird." Dick said. Jason rolled his eyes and closed the door. The family walked down the stairs and went to the living room. June then turned to Bruce.
"When's Cay coming back?" She asked as she sat on the floor and started to play with the twins.
"Sometime either tomorrow or later in the week."
"That's good. They miss their mommy and daddy." June cooed at the twins. Everyone rolled their eyes at her. She always acted weird around the twins. It was kinda scary. All of a sudden the phone rang in the distance. Bruce got up from his seat and grabbed the phone off the coffee table then answered it.
"Hello? Oh hello Caitlin." Everyone then shot their heads up and looked at Bruce.
"Alright, I'm putting you on speaker phone." Bruce said and pushed a button.
"Hey Caitlin!" June chirped.
"Hi Junie!" Jaime and Caitlin said.
"Is Bart there?" Jaime asked.
"Yeah man." Bart said.
"Hey hermano." Jaime's voice has pure amusement in it.
"We'll be home tomorrow and I'm showing you the funniest video I took of Cay-"
"No! No you're not!"
"Oh come on Cay!"
"If you do, you are sleeping on the couch for the next month!" Caitlin said. June couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Hey Jaime, can I see the video?" She asked.
"No!" Caitlin said. Dick suddenly burst out laughing along with Bart. This was too funny! June's cell phone suddenly rang.
"Sorry." June frowned and took out her phone. Her face turned emotionless as she read the number.
"Uh...I've got to take this. See ya Cay. Jaime; get her pregnant again and I'm not changing it's diapers." She added and ran out of the room. There was a silence.
"Uuhhh..." Jaime said. Everyone could tell his face was red, even through a phone call.
"Karma's a bitch." Caitlin said, before hanging up.
With June
"Hunter. What do you want?" June asked immediately as she answered her phone.
"Well. SO much for saying "hello" when you pick up the phone." Hunter said sarcastically.
"okay. Sorry. Hello. Now, answer the goddamn question!"
"Grumpy, aren't we? Is someone PMSing?" He asked teasingly.
"I'm gonna hang up..." She said warningly.
"Okay, Okay!" Hunter grumbled.
"Now what do you want?"
"I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out tomorrow. You know...like how friends do?" He said. To June, it sounded like he was sorta blushing. Though she couldn't quite tell.
"Sorry I can't." She responded.
"Why not?"
"Because Cay is coming home tomorrow."
"Oh." There was an awkward silence between the two.
"How about next weekend?" June said finally.
"Sure!" Hunter said, his voice lighting up.
"The mall?" June asked.
"Sure, I'll see you then."
"Bye." June hung up and frowned. She was way too nice sometimes...She stood up and walked back to the living room.
"Hey dad, I'm not on patrol tonight, kay?"
"Why not?"
"Flash is off world and I'm helping Bart in Central." June told him. Bart smiled at her.
"You really don't have to-"
"Hush." June placed her hand on his mouth and turned to her father. Finally, he nodded.
"Just be back by three." He agreed.
"Got it." June said as she sat down next to Bart. Bruce nodded and went to his study to get some work done. Bart put his arm around June's shoulders. A few minutes then passed and the couple went to the Batcave to get ready for patrol in Central. June changed into Phoenix and placed her mask over her eyes. Kid Flash sped towards her and kissed her cheek.
"By the way, I wanted to warn you about my villains."
"Bart, I think I can handle them. I've fought the Joker, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, etc. I think Captain Cold and Captain Boomerang will be a piece of cake to fight." Bart smiled weakly.
"Yeah. But fighting them isn't what I was worried about."
"What do you mean?" June asked in a worried tone. Bart looked at her with worried eyes.
"Look...just promise me you won't leave my side. Got it?" Bart asked as he took hold of her hand. June nodded and smiled.
"I promise." She said.
"Good." He smiled at her and they ran to Central City.
