hello! It's been too long for a chapter update! Now let's get down to business. ~KIBucs15
"Hey guys!" Dick chirped, appearing out of nowhere and grinning at them.
"Hey Selina, how was the world 'trip'?"
"Good, thanks Dickie." She ruffled his hair fondly, recalling the days when he was a nine year old boy running around in yellow tights.
"What's up?"
"Your little sister wants to go to England with her boyfriend." Bruce grumbled. Dick's eyebrows shot up.
"Who, June? You should let her go. She's responsible enough, and Bart's a nice kid."
"But- ENGLAND!"
"She's a zeta tube away Bruce. You need to chill. We all know if you say no to June, she's just going to bring up the fact that you let Caitlin get married." Dick said as he crossed his arms across his chest.
"That's true...but I'm still going to think about it." Bruce said. Dick just shook his head.
"Right. Well, I should tell you that Jason snuck out."
"WHAT?!"
With Jason
He was casually walking through an ally heading the park with his hands stuffed in his jacket pockets. When he reached he park, he saw a figure sitting on a bench. As he got closer, he recognized the figure as Scarlett.
"You know, you should never walk around Gotham alone." He said as he approached her, and then sat down next to her.n
"Well I guess I'd rather take that risk." She said as she shrugged.
"Despite the crime, its actually kind of beautiful." Jason smiled, taking her hand.
"Still. You have no idea how many thugs would want to get their hands on a pretty girl like you." Scarlett turned to him, smiling ever so slightly.
"So you think I'm pretty?" Jason tried to ignore his burning cheeks.
"Well, I just said that, didn't I?" He winked. Scarlett let out a small giggle. Jason smiled and felt his cheeks get even hotter.
"You know...it's really nice out tonight." Scarlett said as she laid her head on Jason's shoulder. He nodded and took his hand away from her's and wrapped his arm around her shoulders.
"My dad's gonna kill me for sneaking out. He thinks I'm going to get you pregnant or something." Jason rolled his eyes. Scarlett stifled a laugh.
"I don't think so. You'd use a condom anyways, right?" She winked at him. Jason flushed, not expecting her to ask him that.
"Well...yeah of course. I'm not stupid." He said trying to brush off the surprise of the question. Scarlett laughed and smiled at him. Jason couldn't help but blush a little. No one has ever made him blush before.
"So are we just going to sit here or go somewhere?" Scarlett asked.
"I don't know, what do you want to do?" He smiled charmingly at her.
"We could take a walk. It's a beautiful day." She stood up, taking his hand. Jason nodded and agreed. So the two began their walk. They walked down past the playground and continued their way through the park. They continued for a few more minutes until Scarlett took her hand out of Jason's hand, and Jason put his arm around her waist. Scarlett felt her cheeks turn pink. Jason smiled and pulled her closer. His smiled suddenly faded and was replaced by a pissed off expression. They stopped walking.
"Jason, whats wrong?" Scarlett asked, concerned as she followed Jason's gaze to two people. Jason's eyes flashed dangerously, and he dragged Scarlett to the boy and girl.
"What are you-" The girl looked at him in absolute alarm.
"I-uh- hi, Jay. Fancy meeting you here."
"June. What the hell are you doing here, with HIM of all people!" He hissed, gesturing towards Hunter.
"We are hanging out, ok?" June said. Jason grabbed her arm and dragged her away from Hunter and Scarlett. Once he got her pulled away from them, he let go of her arm and looked at her.
"Give me the truth. Now." He demanded.
"Look, when me him broke up, I felt bad about having him no longer in my life. So I suggested that me and him stay friends. And friends hang out, so that's what we are doing." June explained. Jason didn't look convinced.
"Look Jay, he's a good kid." Her voice lowered.
"I'm trying to change him. You know, he hasn't been Professor Zoom since then?" Jason looked at June's pleading green eyes and sighed.
"Alright, just...keep an eye out, alright? I don't need my little sister hurt." He ruffled her hair, causing a smile to grow on her face.
"Oh, and if you tell anyone, I'll break your arm." June said in a sweet voice. Jason gave a look of fear and moved away from her. They then walked back to the others. Jason put his arm back around Scarlett while June and Hunted walked past them. Jason and Scarlett then began walking again.
"What was that about?" Scarlett asked. Jason paused.
"Long story." He said.
"I've got time."
"Alright. Well, in short, June broke up with her boyfriend and met that boy, Hunter. They started going out for a little bit before June discovered a secret of his, and it's not really my place to say, but it caused June to break up with him. She remained single for a bit before getting back together with her current boyfriend, but stayed friends with Hunter."
"Wow, that is a long story." Scarlett said. Jason nodded and they kept on walking.
"Want to get something to eat?" He asked as he saw a restaurant.
"Yeah, I'm getting hungry." Scarlett said. Jason smiled and they walked into the restaurant and got seated. As Scarlett ordered, Jason suddenly realized something important.
"Oh shit..."
"Whats wrong?" Scarlett asked.
"If June's at the park with Hunter...then who's covering for me?" He asked, then groaned.
"Bruce is going to kill me...I really need my own place." He muttered to himself.
"Well I live in a apartment and there's a room down the hall for rent." Scarlett said. Jason began to think.
"How much is it per month?"
"Around $200. It's not expensive." She said.
"Alright, I guess I'll come by and check it out." Jason said. Scarlett smiled at him. Jason wrapped his arm around her waist.
"Well, if Bruce is gonna kill me, better make my last few moments worthwhile." He flirted. Scarlett blushed again. Jason grinned and laughed, taking a bite out of his pizza. Scarlett smiled and took a bite out of her own pizza. After they finished their pizza, Jason paid for the check and they got up and left.
"Now that was some good pizza." He said. Scarlett agreed and kissed his cheek.
"I had a great time, but sadly I have to get home." She said.
"Why don't I walk you home? It's dangerous to walk around Gotham alone." He said.
"I'm sure I'll be fine." Scarlett insisted.
"I'd rather make sure you're safe." Scarlett smiled and took his hand. She hoped he couldn't see her blushing cheeks.
