Roy

Roy's heavy eyelids shot open. He didn't know where he was. All he remembers was being thrown into a wall and everything after that was blank, black, and nothing.

"Oh… shit."

His head hurt, bad, he rubbed his forehead trying to cease the thumping. He would compare his headache with a hangover… times ten.

Roy pushed himself up into an upright position, once the dizziness faded, he realized he was in the Batwing again. He looked around the plane and saw that he was sitting on something, he looked down and saw Blue Beetle's sound cannon underneath him. Roy pulled Jaime's arm from out under him.

Dick was leaned up against the opposite side of the jet, blood pouring from his head and multiple gashes on his body.

On first instinct, he wanted to bolt up and help his teammate. He tried, but the hurt on his own body was enough to restrain him.

Jaime seemed to be perfectly fine, not a single scratch on his blue scarab armor.

"Dick…"

His voice is raspy and dry, and his throat burns like fire.

Red Arrow's partner in crime doesn't respond.

"Dick."

His head moves from one side to another.

"You little bastard, wake up!"

Roy pulled out an arrow from his almost empty quiver and threw it at Dick with whatever energy he had left.

Apparently, it was enough force to pierce his armor.

Nightwing's domino masked eyes flew open and even with all his wounds, he got into an offensive stance, escrima sticks in hand.

"Stand down, Nightwing!"

Everything was starting to become blurry and his thoughts were cloudy.

'No. I have to pull it together.'

Dick placed his escrima sticks back into his thigh holsters and turned his attention towards Roy.

Roy intently watched Nightwing, he blinked a few times before speaking.

"W-What happened…?"

Red Arrow raised an eyebrow at his teammate.

"We need to get back out there. KF, Flash, Impulse, and maybe even Scarlet are in danger!"

It disgusted him that he cared more about his lover than he did his teammates. It was selfish of him to think that way, but he lost her once, he wasn't planning on losing her again. Whether she was the Katherine he fell in love with or not.

Roy tries to stand up, determined to get back out on the field. Every time he tries to push himself up off the floor, his legs buckle and he falls back down to where he started. The struggle between his body and his consciousness continues until Dick says something.

"Roy, stop. You might make your wounds worse. Look at your leg, Red, it probably needs to be decapitated."

He could feel the sweat beading down his face, he didn't want to look at his leg, he was afraid about what he might find. But Dick insisted. Roy looked down and it was a gruesome sight. No wonder why he couldn't feel anything in that leg.

It was oozing blood, it was swollen beneath his uniform. He tried to remember when he received such a blow to the calf, but there were so many times during battle when he could have been stabbed.

"I don't care about myself. I need to help my team."

Roy hissed back at Dick, he was stubborn and he knew it. He wouldn't let anyone tell him he could not do something. He was on a team with metahumans, he needed to prove to society and himself at times, that heroes don't need to have superpowers. He had a lot of convincing to do, starting with his very own leader. Red Arrow thought that Dick would understand. He was the only other member on Undercover Core that was not a powerhouse, lightning bolt, an alien, etc. Roy thought he understood.

"Roy, all you want to do is save Katherine. You could careless about the rest of the team. Right now, what you really need is to clear your head, keep off your legs, bandage your wounds, and make sure Jaime is fine. That's what you really need to do. I'll go out there and make sure the speedsters are alright."

Dick was acting calm, something that irked Roy when he was furious.

"No, Dick. You don't understand. Have you met someone and fell completely and utterly in love that you couldn't even breath around them? Have you ever felt that kind of love before? I bet you haven't felt anything since you let Jason die from the hands of a maniac. I love her yes, I do. We've been together for three years, I let her slip between my fingers. I'd risk anything, everything, to make sure she that doesn't happen again. I thought that you'd understand me."

Roy had nothing left to say. There was a brief uncomfortable silence.

He watched Dick's face, he remained stolid, unchanged. Maybe he pushed his luck, mentioning Jason's name. But it had to be done. Everything Roy had said was unfiltered, he didn't feel like holding anything back, but he still didn't dare to show any emotion.

It was too dangerous, especially around Dick of all people. He doesn't allow emotionally unstable people in his core. He also doesn't take rookies.

Roy stabilized himself and managed to stand on his two feet without holding the walls. He pulled out a special morphine pill from his waist holsters and pushed it into his large gash.

He groaned against the pain. Yes, it would sting, but in the end, he knew that it was going to make the worlds of difference. Roy braced himself against the wall as the stars he was seeing slowly disappeared.

"Ok, lets go."

Red Arrow grabbed his quiver and headed towards the Batwing's bomb drop. Remembering that his bow snapped during battle, he decided against looking for it.

Dick continued to stare at Roy as he slowly limped his way across the Batwing and towards the hatch. Dick had his arms crossed across his chest.

But as Roy slowly walked past his leader, Dick viciously grabbed his upper arm.

"You're going to stay here. I'm not going to repeat myself."

Roy stopped, turned his head in the direction of his hindrance and stared down Nightwing. Dick's domino mask's eye's were just slits.

"You can't stop me. You never will."

Roy had to hold back the fist that was dying to make contact with his leader's face. He had never felt this overwhelming urge to hit his teammate ever before. Roy had to use every ounce of self control he has left not to hit Dick.

"Red Arrow, you are currently decommissioned from duty until otherwise notified. That's an order."

Roy could feel his blood boiling. Every passing second could be vital for Katherine's life and that bastard is still standing here. Under Dick's grasp, he could feel his next bruise forming.

"Go then, why the hell are you still standing here?"

Roy grabbed Dick's wrist and threw it off his arm.

"Making sure you're following orders."

All Roy could think about was the fact that they all could be dead out there and he had no one else to blame but himself. He could have been looking for them already if it wasn't for rash behavior, but he felt it necessary.

"I swear, Harper, if I catch you in the field, I will personally see to it that you'll never step foot inside the Hall Of Justice for the rest of your life."

With that, the former Robin opened the hatch and jumped through the bomb drop and onto the cement.

'I'm screwed.'

All the archer could do now was hope that Dick would get to Katherine and the speedsters in time.

Dick

He jumped down from the bomb drop and started to run towards the fault. Dick could still feel the pounding in his head, it must be some sort of side effect from fighting this enemy. Or maybe it was just the multiple cuts, bruises, and gashes that scarred his body at the moment.

Dick still continued to run along the fault line of where the terror first begun. It took him a while before reaching the sobbing Bart. The time traveler seemed to be clutching something in his grasp, but Dick quickly dismissed it.

"Bart. Did Scarlet come here? Where is everyone else?"

It must have been bluntly obvious, but when around Bart, you have to talk his language.

"That girl dressed like the speedsters, she's Scarlet?"

"Yes, where is she?"

"She went down there to hopefully save KF and Flash."

He pointed down into the deep dark crack.

'No.'

"Bart, go back to the Batwing and make sure that Jaime and Roy are alright. Do not let anyone in the jet or out, not until I come back. Stay safe."

Dick quickly but gently rest a hand on the young boy's shoulder before diving into the fault. Its deep and there's no certain way he can figure out how far he'll fall until his body hits the ground. And he doesn't want to find out.

Dick reached into his waist holsters and grabbed a grapnel gun. He quickly shot it across to the other side of the fault. It attached onto the rock and he sung down. It was pitch black, he couldn't see anything, but he could feel his feet hitting the ground.

"Shit…"

He grimaced and held his side, the gash is slowly ripping open.

Nightwing bit back his pain and continued to move forward. He was pretty sure that there was a blood trail, but at the moment, he could care less.

Continuing on, he strained his eyes hoping that they'd adjust to the dim lighting. His body wasn't functioning and he was too exhausted to see otherwise.

Pulling up the night vision settings on his mask, everything became green and black. I no longer had to work to see in the dark. But that didn't make the horrific sight before him any easier to take in.
